Given the new cheesy title and move to Mother’s Day, I fear that’s what it might be. Let us hope not!

I think at this rate we all need to hope for the best but fear the worst from this movie role, however, I think we should focus more on the fact that this movie will bring us all new Celine music….at this point I’m just thankful for the movie because it will give us new material otherwise we probably wouldn’t have had for years.

 

Hopefully, this movie is just Celine dipping her toes in water in terms of acting and the next role she has will be lengthier and showcase her playing someone else.

I just checked the release calendar and one of the big releases on Feb. 10th is the 25th anniversary rerelease of TITANIC. You also have the new release of the third Magic Mike movie, which will be a big hit with females and the gays. I don't doubt that Celine's schedule wasn't the main issue, but it, along with two BIG releases on Feb. 10th, could have been a big reason why we got the reschedule. Plus, this is only the 1st postponement. As others have stated, Feb. 10th was the first concrete date we got from the studio.

 

For myself, I'm incredibly excited for the film. It's something new and with the news of new music, we're at least moving in the right direction for 2023. Here's hoping the Celine train is getting ready to leave the station!

Thanks for checking the releases on VD, it's just as I suspected. It's not uncommon for studios to shuffle release dates to give a movie a better chance at the box office. Let's not jump directly to blaming Celine for everything now.

As for the title, as cheesy as it may be I prefer this new one. IACBTM was also cheesy and too on the nose, like hey look it's a "Celine movie" with Celine and Celine music. It was also too long imo.

 

I'm also excited to see Céline dipping her toes into acting (maybe this leads her to more) but keeping expections about the role low.

I'm very glad we get new music (even if just 1), we didn't have to wait 6 years for new English music lol.

Could be wrong, but it looks like she’s wearing a bun extension/scrunchie. Obviously the larger the hair, the more it “softens” her features (that, and not pulling the bun so tight).

 

I expect/hope that they made her look as good as she did in the L’Oréal commercials - because this isn’t just about her, it’s about the success of the movie.

When new articles are written about Celine, they tend to use pretty photos of her now. That’s such a nice change compared to a few years ago, they’d often go out of their way to choose unflattering photos of her. There’s been a shift in the culture in how Celine is perceived.

Interesting to read that because my observation is the opposite. It seems the photos most commonly used are those 2-3 least flattering ones from PFW several years back. Tabloids love them for the clicks.

They tend to use probably her worst picture ever taken alot these days, it’s the wok with her hair back, glasses and the green jacket.

I guess it can still be a mix... especially since her health has been an issue, they'll sometimes use a photo that makes her look ill. But I've still seen a positive shift.

Considering the plot of Love Again, the Courage album contains a goldmine of options that correlate to the story. So I imagine we’ll hear some songs from Courage in the film.

She literally has a song called “Falling in Love Again” lol. Given the new name of the movie, I would have expected this to be used as the main song but obviously, considering how twisted TC’s approach to everything is, this isn’t the case and they’re releasing new music. The one time I’m grateful for their lack of logic lol. Although I love FILA and think it’s one of the most beautiful songs we got from her in recent years, I’m so excited for new music!!!

Quebec today and when I said Iove Celine the level of grunt and sighs and eyes rolled.. like and then came the how god awful she looks statements ….

If her songs play a main part in the film's music and she's part of the cast then it's very possible that they also want her to be part of the promotion of the movie. That could not be done if she was sick.

 

It's possible there are other reasons as well that contributed to the delay but you cannot deny that her not making appearances had to play some role.

I see your point. But then again, they did rename the film in her honor with the "All Coming Back To Me" bit, so clearly they have had her in mind when planning this stuff.

They've had her music/role in mind for sure. But what music makes it into the film will have been chosen by the scriptwriter/director and Sony with some input from Celine. Wanting to include her in promo could be a reason for the delay but it wouldn't be the only reason. And imo they didn't title the movie IACBTM in her honor, otherwise they wouldn't have renamed it. They were just taking advantage of having this famous song in their film which fits the plot.

 

Her power in the decision making process (especially anything non-music related) isn't as much as people may think. That's not to say they aren't proud or honored to have her in the movie, they obviously are.

I said in her honor, what I meant was as a nod to her. They didn't have to rename it to reference Celine, but they did. Of course, they've now renamed it, but it shows that they were fine leaning on the Celine Dion brand to at least a degree.

 

As for the amount of power she has or her own level of involvement, I was not and none of us can really speak to that. As usual, we know very little regarding decisions and timelines.
