ryba Posted March 3, 2021 at 08:43 PM Posted March 3, 2021 at 08:43 PM (edited) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L938i4mengcThanks so much Carlos! The French interviews give so much more insights into the working processess than the English ones in which she never mentions any specific details. She only follows scripts and it all looks staged and artificial. Based on that interview, to me the TC album looks like a forced project that needed to happen, because they went on a world tour and an album had to be out before (which was very smart, unlike the stupid decision to start the Courage world tour before Courage was even released). Celine seemed tired as hell and apparently all she wanted was free time and staying at home, but the machinery had to go on. Rene really pushed her. Only now I realize what an impact he had in her career. Now I realize that Celine has always been quite comortable in nature, but Rene knew what it takes to be successful. smw Posted March 12, 2021 at 08:55 PM Posted March 12, 2021 at 08:55 PM (edited) This is one of my favorite things I've watched about Celine in a long time.2016 was a big year for her in many ways.Watching her go, go, go in this video reminds me of the pace of her career in the 80s / 90s.It also demonstrates that she was willing to honor Rene's wishes and embrace Aldo as her new manager. The only misstep I remember with Aldo was him releasing that not-so-great rendition of The Show Must Go On as a single. In this video, it seems like things were going so well with Aldo stepping in as her manager.I wonder what happened.Still so strange that she has no manager... and it's unfortunately very apparent.Maybe she realized that she just didn't want to do things like the "old days" and got burnt out? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doKf3y3xsVQ Edited March 12, 2021 at 08:56 PM by smw 2 Quote

smw Posted March 17, 2021 at 07:43 PM Posted March 17, 2021 at 07:43 PM This is super interesting to see...Around the 9:30 mark Celine talks about the River Deep, Mountain High performance on David Letterman. She addresses a very hot topic on this forum... why she loves to sing covers / other peoples' songs. After that, there's a great moment where Sony celebrates 5 million copies sold for The Colour of My Love. 5 Quote

I am dying to re-find the interview where she explains how David's show---or someone---said they were tired of her doing a ballad on the show and wanted a rock song, so she gave them that one and chose it. I can't find it, but I know she said it. 1 Quote
smw Posted March 17, 2021 at 08:02 PM Posted March 17, 2021 at 08:02 PM (edited) I love watching these French interviews because it fills in so many gaps for me as her fan.She has answered / addressed so much in French interviews that she never has in English interviews.I feel like she's probably answered every question I've ever had about her career -- I just have to go digging to find it. And it's pretty mind blowing to see how she managed to create such a worldwide career.Rene and Celine were 100 percent dedicated. sfbaysinger Posted March 17, 2021 at 10:03 PM Posted March 17, 2021 at 10:03 PM That's so sad if it's true she didn't want to make a new English album or go on tour. After "A New Day" that would make sense, but that's still sad if she was forced. I loved the "Taking Chances" album, and the Taking Chances tour was my very first time ever at a Céline show. She seemed to be enjoying herself but that could have just been acting. That's sad... Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
