Good. As it should be. Thank god for the orchestra! Would be such a step backwards to go without one.

 

They don’t seem to know how to use the orchestra. Especially with the uptempos. The intent is good, the outcome not so much.

I personally think it's too early. November? A lot of her core fans from Canada will not want to travel. And, secondly there's a good chance pending more friggin waves in this pandemic is WAY too risky for me to book tickets for this!

 

NO way.

I happen to have vacation the opening week and could 100% go if it were for the border being closed and the pandemic. There's no way I'm taking any chances. It's too risky at this point.

Wake up!!

 

I’m not really liking too much what I’ve heard so far… But then I realize we haven’t really heard anything. We have a name, very very uncreative LOL. We have the dates. And then we have Celine saying, She need to figure out a way to freshen up the old hits. Nobody expected her to NOT sing the hits. What she does with the rest of the show can still be very different from the past, and I for one am very excited about since the hits have to be there that she’s going to actually try to refresh them, I believe that’s the first time the first time she’s actually talked about refreshing the hits in the near future, (she spoke about it on Larry King once about “down the road” if she can’t sing them the same anymore.)

 

And lastly it seems like she will only perform 10 shows there this year… It seems as if she and the resort really wanted her to be there for the Theaters opening night, with all the money going to Covid relief on that first concert.

Is it me or it is the worst=the most boring announcement ever?

 

Even with Courage Tour promo she at least "TEASED" surprises and we could have expected songs from the new album though we didn't get anything apart from If you asked me to. Not to mention there is literally no concept, no idea and no ORIGINAL title for a residency in a NEW place...

Yikes, some not-so-positive opinions about this announcement! I understand though. I was suuuuuper excited to see the email when I woke up! I love the poster image and she looks amazing in that ETCanada interview!

 

I have my alarm set for when tickets go on sale, I'll absolutely be going the first two nights. I will risk Covid, no hesitation. Hopefully things will be even better by November, but even if not, I'll risk it. I understand people who seem bored with her choices and shows (I'm there with you), but when you're at a show, it's totally different, you get mesmerized and don't care if a song is lipped or its one you've heard 9 trillion times. The energy hits different when you're there in person!

It coincides with end of year toward xmas kind of album money milking.

At least we will hear a new music!!

With Aline release worldwide in nov and that Text For You in Feb, there will be lots of exposure from oct to feb 2022!

I don't know why people on this forum expect her to change the world with a new show.

Its Vegas so she has to appeal to the majority and we are the minority. She also has a formula that works so why would they change it.

One thing we do know is that it will contain The Hits of Celine Dion- so if you don’t like them and don’t want to see them performed, chances are it won’t be the show for you. The show is for the masses, not just the big fans. Yes, I am hoping for something exceptional, I want her to have the best show, be the best and most successful and I hope they bring us something fresh.

I agree, I wouldn't expect anything different. I expect it will pretty much be the Courage World Tour in Vegas, but that doesn't bother me at all.

 

No idea if I will make it over to Vegas any time soon though and I still have tickets to 4 European shows, 3 for next year and one for 2023. That should keep me going for a while. We'll see if she is still doing the show in 2024!

I just do want to travel to Vegas to see her do a tribute section to other singers when that section of the show could include rare or new songs for the diehards, it’s all about balance

I agree, it’s not the hits people complain about it’s the tributes. Use that part of the show for your die hard fans.

But yeah it seems to me that setlist wise we definitely should not get our hopes up.

The 5-7 biggest hits will always be part of her show, that's for sure.

But we discussed this every single time. There is plenty of room for 'new' songs.

 

The only opportunity for us to hear them really different like acoustic, is for her to do an acoustic show/tour.

 

They still have this mindset that the songs need to be almost exactly like the album version unfortunately.

 

"I don't want to go on stage and change the whole song because I don't want to disappoint the fans, but there's probably a way to perform them in a way that's surprising as well."

 

 

 

 

 

From the sounds of these initial interviews... the show sounds like more of the same, unfortunately. I hope to be pleasantly surprised but what she said thus far doesn’t look promising.
