New Las Vegas residency show!

Frankly no one goes to her shows to hear her backup singers. And she does have some of the best in the industry. But I certainly don't care to hear solos from any one of them. They're there to back her up and they do a good job at taht. I've never understood the fan adoration for them. We've learned that none of her band members are indispensable. Well, except Pepe. .

 

I agree, PLUS they get a pretty much enough time to shine, every time she sings LCMM.

I mean look what she finally did, of course another performance of Andrea Via screen to sing “The Prayer” with her again is so emotionless, he’s great and of course he can’t be touring with her to sing it live each and every night with her so she decided to sing the song “solo” and it was one a few highlights of the show for me, along with “Thats The away It Is”, “If you asked me to” and “Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi”.

 

Please give BATB a rest, and no Barnev solos during interludes, they should be creative with something else when Celine is offstage.

I was talking about duets with her female back up. Maybe alternate the Barnev duet with a female duet. Barnev during the first part of the tour then maybe Elise in the next. Just one duet, that's not asking too much. I don't think that will hurt.

 

I mean, let's say I can't stand elise's singing. I'd still rather endure her singing just as long as we get to hear Celine sing, maybe, Tell Him... Than not hear Tell Him at all.

 

Now, the back up as solos, that's a totally different story.

So, an idea came to me this morning while thinking of this new, upcoming residency. We have all bemoaned the fact Celine's uptempo numbers tend to lack "oomph" when it comes time for them to be performed live onstage. Well, how about this...Commission the new residency DJ's, Zedd & Tiesto, to create remixes for some of her mid to uptempo singles. These new arrangements would be created to compliment the live band onstage. A few examples with remix titles that came to me are the following:

 

- That's The Way It Is (Zedd's "Want It The Most" Remix)

- I'm Alive (Tiesto's "Call On Me" Mix)

- Unison (Tiesto's "Come Alive" Remix)

- Misled (Zedd's "9 to 5" Mix) [would require Celine to sing this song in full]

- I Drove All Night (Zedd's "Dying To Get To You" Remix)

- Eyes On Me (Tiesto's "Devil Inside" Mix)

- Loved Me Back To Life (Zedd's "Catatonia" Remix)

- Imperfections (Tiesto's "Love Myself" Mix)

 

By utilizing Zedd and Tiesto, it would help create even more synergy with the headliners at Resorts World. If they wanted, they could even incorporate Katy, Carrie and Luke into the show somehow, all while incorporating Celine into their shows, too.

I wish they’d add a choir for a few numbers.... like “Call The Man”, “Thankful”, “Prayer”, etc.... I'd even stomach LCMM again, if she sang it properly without all the adlibs and bring in a choir like she did in South Africa for the TCWT.

 

Honestly I’m just hoping the two main things

1. She keeps the covers/tributes VERY limited (1-2 songs max) preferably 0 lol.

2. She ends that stale ending of LCMM/RDMH....”thank you, goodnight” onto MHWGO

I wouldn’t mind it if she sang the lyrics correctly and the way it was produced and if it wasn’t at the end of every show like it’s such a Celine hit, when actually it wasn’t.

I also love LCMM! The Celine Dion album was THE album of my youth... so it holds a special place for me.

Celine clearly adores the song / the message of the song. I love how much she loves it.

 

But I do wish she'd sing it closer to the album version again... like she did on The Voice in 2013. That was such a treat.

Loved me back to life sounds so great in the studio version and it should have sounded great on stage as well but using regular drums instead of pumping digital basses and samples drums, that would have made a huge difference. Same for Ashes and flying on my own

I'd love to have LMBTL as part of the set list. I know they have to do all the major 90's hits cuz it's technically a US based show; I've accepted that it is what it is at this point. Especially for such a big show where the main goal is not only to attract us die hards: it also has to appeal to mass-audiences and pull in the general public.

 

That said: it'd be great if they at least include one song from the past few albums that she released: LMBTL, TC, etc. We know AND or IDAN will most likely make an appearance to account for that era but I so wish they'd do something for those 2 albums as well. And of course a song or 2 from Courage since it's the latest release.

 

If they at least did that, I don't care what other medley's are there lol. And being a US based show, most audiences now don't know a ton about her French stuff...would love a song from D'elles or EUS as the French song for this show.

I love LMBTL and she killed it on the Xfactor but yeah with the band/orchestra arrangement on the mini tour in London it sounded rubbish and she just also looked awkward performing maybe due to the arrangement.
