I don't know how this business works and if she is allowed to cancel.

But I think now Vegas is apparently around the corner the Courage WORLD Tour will be slighty altered to fit the schedule.

 

Maybe just Europe and America but no Asia or Australia this time.

 

I completely agree. I don't think any further stops of the Courage World Tour will be announced. Once touring can start again, they'll simply do the dates scheduled for which people have already purchased tickets and then be done. The album will be so old by the time it starts back up, I think they'll want to finish it and move on. Although it's really just a Greatest Hits Tour so it won't really matter, I guess.

yea but this pandemic has NOTHING to do with celines vegas residency ending (her last one ended in june 2019, this pandemic started in march 2020, on my birthday march 11 to be precise lol, trust me that will be something i will NEVER FORGET lol!!)

 

so i very much doubt that the city of las vegas is holding CELINE responsible for this worldwide pandemic (especially as it is affecting the WHOLE WORLD & not just las vegas!!) what vegas is going through is what every city, town, state, country, etc is currently going through & have been since march!! i just hope & pray the vaccine will work great & get rid of covid-19 forever!!

I doubt a next Vegas residency will follow shortly after the 'Courage tour', especially if they want to properly prepare a brand new show. We don't need no 'Courage in Vegas' show.

 

IMO after the Corona pandemic; they'd either resume the 'Courage World Tour' INCLUDING dates in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and hopefully South-America or cancel the whole tour all together.

 

In case the CWT being cancelled: an unplugged tour would be a perfect replacement (either a real tour or a smaller residencies around the globe): a lot less crew needed and logistically a lot less of a hassle. And of course it's something both Céline and us fans have been longing for a long time. She could do Vegas again after that.

I wonder if she will appear in Vegas scenes for that movie and tie the whole thing to the possible new residency.

Of course they would have to refund tickets. And I never said to change the current tour to a different tour. It wouldn't be possible, just like going ahead with the tour with the current corona measures wouldn't be possible.

I said it would be better to cancel the tour if it still can't be held in its original form if the COVID pandemic isn't over by the end of the year/early next year (you never know). And only then come up with a tour in a different form.

They couldn't do full-scale concerts anymore (for a while). so they cancelled their tour and went ahead with shows that adhered to corona restrictions (social distancing, masks, etc.). Of course nothing quite the scale as a World Tour, but we're living in the so called 'new normal", so alternatives have to be thought of.

I've worked in show business for 25 years in every capacity you could think of other than producing. They can cancel the tour, but they'd have to give everyone refunds for their Courage World Tour tickets, Covid or no Covid. Your husband should know that.

I'm not opposed to vegas but i want it to be super short runs. 12 show runs two times a year with kickass setlists. Make vegas feel like a special event, not the same boring hits and covers.

 

I dont want a 5 year continuance of non stop shows with crappy setlists and over the top lipping.

Ah. No - without specifically mentioning insurance, I didn't understand what "Ukrfan" was getting at. Yes, they will be compensated somewhat for insurance. Nothing, obviously, to the amount that they would get if the shows actually happened. I actually kind of hope she disappears for a few years. Like five or six years. Just live her life. I highly doubt it will happen but I think a long rest could do wonders for both her soul and creativity. Let her come back when she really wants to and has something to say through music rather than just being the performing machine that she is.

But they announced Courage World Tour right after Vegas residency finished. And Courage World Tour is well prepared tour. So they can always do tour and prepare for the next residency simultaneously. Is it make Celine the cash machine like she is today? Yes. I would love to see Celine focus on her new music instead of do greatest hits tour like she did with Courage World Tour. But hey, they promised us a brand new tour, digging her catalogues for a rare songs, etc for Courage World Tour. But still, greatest hits tour is all we got. Easy money always be their priority. So I have no doubt they will announce new residency pretty soon.

Many people seem to forget that Celine runs a huge business with a lot employees. If she wants to keep those faithful employees, she needs to keep them busy.

 

Since she probably doesn't want to always be on the road, Vegas is the perfect solution business-wise. And she loves being on stage, so it makes sense for her. But I also agree that she should do less shows per year to work on other projects; 40 to 50 shows a year would be enough.

I don't think she is at that point in her career to take such a long break. She will keep busy for at least 10 more years and then maybe slow down. What I hope is that she finds love again. She is still young and looking great. Love could also help her creativity

You can bet your bottom Dollar with AEG and Concerts West signed to Resorts World she is most definitely the star power they are bringing and with a s*** 2020 they will want her brining in people ASAP. She will no be waiting. Mark my words

Well, of course they would need to give refunds. I never said they wouldn't. What I meant was that all these nuances are written in contracts between all the parties. Insurances exist for a reason. A world tour CAN be canceled, and it is very likely to be, unfortunately.

I agree with you. I want my money back too. I think she really mislead us from the beginning to promise something so special and diving deep in her repertoire. I was like I have to see this show. But it is the same as every year with the same songs and some covers, that is not what she promised. As a show it works for the masses, I get that, but I rather have my money back. Can do better things with it now.

She could start a residency while continuing with the Courage tour at the same time if she really has to because of contracts. It would be an insanely busy schedule which would pose many logistical problems but it’s not impossible .

Agreed. Have her do two runs a year, maybe a spring dun in May-ish and a run around the holiday season through December/January. Like you said, make her Vegas appearances feel like a special event, change like 40%-50% of the set list between runs, don’t allow her to become that zombie Vegas state Celine by keeping her on her toes and with new material to engage her
