jpatdeleon09 Posted February 21, 2020 at 09:33 AM Posted February 21, 2020 at 09:33 AM There was no funeral mass in the church? Adhemar had one as did Rene... Maybe because it was private so no information about that... Quote

incognito Posted February 21, 2020 at 04:06 PM Posted February 21, 2020 at 04:06 PM I don’t think it’s any of our business in regard to any decisions on burial or cremation. 2 Quote
Chantemoi Posted February 21, 2020 at 04:08 PM Posted February 21, 2020 at 04:08 PM (edited) Why was she cremated? Wasn’t she catholic? From what I understand, Catholics do allow cremation now, but they are supposed to bury the remains on holy ground. Depending on how devout the Dion family is, they may or may not honor that tradition. What confuses me is that I always *assumed* Adhémar had a traditional burial in Charlemagne, but I have no evidence to prove it as fact. Can anyone confirm/refute this? It is extremely rare for one spouse to have a traditional burial, and the other cremation (buried or otherwise). It’s usually only in cases where a widow(er) was remarried and forced to choose which spouse to be buried with or which method to use—and if no prior plans were made, that decision is left to the surviving family members. Chantemoi Posted February 29, 2020 at 03:06 PM Posted February 29, 2020 at 03:06 PM (edited) In a new interview with La Semaine, Claudette Dion reveals that Céline sang « Lascia ch'io pianga » from the opera, Rinaldo. https://www.envedette.ca/potins-stars-quebec/musique/celine-dion-la-chanson-interpretee-aux-funerailles-de-sa-mere-devoilee-1.10614014 Claudette: “She sang it as though we were in heaven, paradise. She told us that she chose this song not for herself, but because it reminded her of our mother, who we were celebrating.” No video has been made public, but here is another artist interpreting the song: Edited February 29, 2020 at 03:06 PM by Chantemoi 7 Quote
Angel2006 Posted March 20, 2020 at 04:20 AM Posted March 20, 2020 at 04:20 AM (edited) Today would have been Therese Dion's 93rd birthday. I hope her light is shining down from heaven today and all the days that follow. I can just imagine Therese up in heaven playing her violin and Adhemar playing his accordion and singing together along with the angels, there son Daniel, Rene, Karen and all there other loved ones that have passed.
