Tyler1991 Posted January 17, 2020 at 05:17 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 05:17 PM I’d “imagine” she will go on with the show tonight in Miami for her mother ( like she did for her father) and then possibly cancel the shows after to be with her family for the memorial/ funeral services. That's kinda what i think will happen but i fully support anything she decides. 2 Quote
chocolatechip15 Posted January 17, 2020 at 05:18 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 05:18 PM So sad . . . And just a couple of days after the anniversary of Rene’s death. Such a difficult time. 3 Quote
Rossum89 Posted January 17, 2020 at 05:19 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 05:19 PM It would seem the family probably saw this coming based on her declining heath, not that it ever makes it easier. Celine seemed in good spirits in Tampa. I hope Celine was actually able to be with her yesterday. I wouldn't be too surprised if she goes on with both Miami shows and then she has two days off. It's likely what her mother would want. It would be amazing to end the show with an acoustic version of CNQR 1 Quote http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/3003/newconcertdvddesign3.jpgCredit goes to Timster for the great pic! Popular Post Shamrock_1982 Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:08 PM Popular Post Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:08 PM Sad news... I’d say celine will go on with the show tonight and dedicate it to her mum. I was really lucky to have met her mum briefly in Vegas in March 2006 the night I got the rose. We were going to the bar opposite the the colosseum doors after the show and people stopped us on the way saying congratulations on getting the rose and then Celine’s sister, came over out of no where and I realised that Celine’s mum was behind her with another man and she said that her mum wants to know why Celine gave me the rose and who I was lol and Celine’s sister was translating as Celine’s mum didn’t speak English. And I then asked if I could have a picture with her and she said of course and after she gave me a hug and she said goodbye and enjoy Vegas and they walked off to the escalator to the car park. She was lovely, RIP. 11 Quote

Popular Post Alex_Incognito Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:21 PM Popular Post Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:21 PM Therese, like Rene, has been there with us since the very beginning. Part of that package deal that is all a part of the magic of Celine and her career. So glad I visited the site in Charlemagne of where their house used to be. Maman Dion did so much good in her time as well and I have a feeling the province of Quebec will do some mourning as she was a more public figure than Adhemar. 8 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

PopMusicBoy Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:44 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:44 PM Such devastating news and especially on a week where she has had no much loss. Apparently we'll know around 3pm if the show is still happening. Quote
wjd Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:51 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 06:51 PM My heart breaks for Celine. It’s a real tragedy to lose your mum and especially so close to the anniversary of her losing René. Therese was a formidable woman who has been by Celine’s side since the start. May she RIP. 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Maman Dion did so much good in her time as well and I have a feeling the province of Quebec will do some mourning as she was a more public figure than Adhemar. Very true. The two people who were with Celine, encouraged her and supported her, and knew what she had been through in her journey to where she is now, have gone. I can't help but feel that this is going to hit her very hard when things aren't that settled as it is. Very sad news. 3 Quote

scielle Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:16 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:16 PM I'm amazed by how many English-language media outlets picked up on this, seeing as she was only really a household name in Quebec. But it seems there's just always fascination surrounding Celine's family. Every time she posts something about Rene, the press eats it up, too. And so much love from all around. Even Jagmeet Singh posted a message, in French. And many other public figures. She really was Quebec's mum. It's too bad she didn't live long enough to see Jimmy's film; she has said she really wanted to be around for that. 2 Quote
Angel2006 Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:29 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:29 PM This is so incredibly sad. It's not super shocking given her age and recent health decline, but I was still hoping Therese would live into her late 90's or a little later so that Celine wouldn't have to go through this kind of grief again for as long as possible. The timing couldn't suck more. January is already a tough month for Celine. I can only imagine how grief stricken she must feel right now. Celine's mom was her idol and true inspiration in life. I remember reading in past biographies about Celine's fear of someday losing her mom and now sadly that time has come. I am sure Celine's Courage song and tour will have even more significance and meaning now and it will help carry her through this difficult time. I think the love and support of her fans while on tour will help tremendously. Celine will feel our energy and love and the love of her her mother up above in heaven shining her light down. Therese Dion was an incredible human being who had a great life on this earth and accomplished many things, including giving birth to 14 children. One of them being the greatest singer of all time! If it wasn't for Therese there wouldn't be a Celine. That is mind boggling to me. I've always held Therese in such high respect, like the Queen of England or something, because that's how I felt about her. This lady was and is freaking incredible. I have always looked up to her, not only for her dedication for her children and giving them everything they ever needed, but for her incredible strength, class and loving nature. RIP Therese. You will be forever missed and loved by many. #goodbye'sthesaddestword #courage 7 Quote

Tricey3115 Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:41 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:41 PM RIP Maman DionIm Heart Broken. January is such a emotional month for Celine. idroveallnight Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:47 PM Posted January 17, 2020 at 07:47 PM So sad indeed. I just saw Celine's instagram post and thought to myself, why would Celine's mom be in Miami tonight when she will be going to Montreal next month? Then I came here and saw the news. Thank you for giving birth to my idol and the light of my life, Therese. We adore you for giving Celine to the world and raising her with so much love and affection that she has in turn gave to us.
