Bravo Celine!the picture was taken before her mother’s death Quote

Bell Posted January 19, 2020 at 06:38 PM Posted January 19, 2020 at 06:38 PM Hard times for Celine indeed. Anyway, her mother has lived a long, great life. She has done amazing job with keeping her big family together, being there for each one of them every single time they needed her. It is surely sad now that she's gone but I'd rather celebrate her life than mourn her death for she is (I could never say 'was') a wonderful, inspiring peron. 2 Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
ryba Posted January 19, 2020 at 07:48 PM Posted January 19, 2020 at 07:48 PM She truly was an inspiration and a role model. It really saddens me that the world only appreciates great people after they are gone, and don’t care about them or criticize while they are still alive. Quote

scielle Posted January 20, 2020 at 12:17 AM Posted January 20, 2020 at 12:17 AM (edited) It seems TVA is airing a Maman Dion special on Sunday night at 10pm. Hope it makes an appearance online for those of us outside QC. They've also had some great interviews in the last day or so with people who knew her well (and of course are heavily in the Celine sphere) - Denise Bombardier, Joselito Michaud, Marie Claude Barette, Jean-Philippe Dion and others. Here's their initial reportage, plus bio-type story here. In addition to the TVA special tonight, Julie Snyder also has a Maman Dion special set to air tomorrow evening: https://www.instagra.../p/B7hSBI5JepF/ I believe the TVA special at 10pm ET tonight should be here: https://videos.tva.ca/ (Click "en direct", might need a VPN). scielle Posted January 20, 2020 at 04:24 AM Posted January 20, 2020 at 04:24 AM (edited) Can someone explain the "Maman" nickname? I thought the word "mother" in French was "mere"..? How did she get the nickname...or is it quebecois dialect? It's just "mum / mom / mommy" whereas mère is the more formal "mother". That's all. Nothing much new in the TVA doc (though I didn't catch the entire thing). Mostly stock footage and things we've all probably already seen. Still, always nice to see pics of baby Celine :-) This is new though. An interview with Julie Snyder - in English! Some fun anecdotes I haven't heard before.Source: https://globalnews.c...s-of-maman-dion Javascript is not enabled OR refresh the page to viewClick here to view the Tweet And as mentioned in my earlier post, this airs tomorrow:Javascript is not enabled OR refresh the page to viewClick here to view the Tweet Edited January 20, 2020 at 04:40 AM by scielle 1 Quote
Jay718 Posted January 20, 2020 at 04:26 AM Posted January 20, 2020 at 04:26 AM I think mere or ma mere would translate to "mother/my mother" maman would be more slang like mom, mum, mama Quote http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh275/Jay7180/im_13.jpg

Here's their initial reportage, plus bio-type story here. I watched this special. It showed many rare pictures of the Dion family. It would be lovely if someone could post some of those rare pics to the forum. There was a picture I'd never seen before of Paul and Pauline as babies holding there mom and dad's hands. There was also some rare baby pics of Celine and childhood pictures of her too. I believe there was a pic of Celine as a kid with a red ribbon in her hair that I've never seen before. If someone could post some of these rare pics I would really appreciate it. Edit: I forgot to mention about the young pics of Celine's mom and dad. I would love, love love to have those aswell! duri Posted January 24, 2020 at 07:51 AM Posted January 24, 2020 at 07:51 AM (edited) it depends, some are even longer than that.Yes it depends on many factors and it is not a rule for many years that catholic funeral has to be done in a short time. if the family wants maximum privacy it must be respected. But strange is that if it already happened that paparazzi didn´t take at least photo of the arrival and departure of Céline ... Angel2006 Posted January 24, 2020 at 09:20 AM Posted January 24, 2020 at 09:20 AM I believe that the funeral hasn't happened yet, because surely the paparazzi would have a huge interest in something like this and wouldn't let a picture of Celine arriving or departing from the funeral go unseen. I have a feeling that the funeral will take place today, because today marks 1 week exactly since Celine's moms passing. Rene's funeral took place 1 week after he passed, so I figure the family would probably plan it around that same time frame. I think if not today, then the 26th. They surely wouldn't decide to have the funeral on RC's birthday. I hope they have it today (the 24th), because that's right before RC's birthday, plus it still leaves a good amount of days for Celine to recuperate and relax before going back onstage again. Quote
RosieBarron Posted January 24, 2020 at 07:04 PM Posted January 24, 2020 at 07:04 PM https://www.hellomag...is-own-funeral/ Yes Rene planned the content and location, but he isn't likely to have known he'd be given a National Funeral or necessarily that it would be televised. 1 Quote
