CelinesDIVO5 Posted July 9, 2019 at 07:09 PM Posted July 9, 2019 at 07:09 PM So they swapped! Essentially, yes. I think it’s just coincidence as they were both written by Diane Warren, and they were shopped around and released around the same time. fred Posted July 9, 2019 at 08:07 PM Author Posted July 9, 2019 at 08:07 PM Of course it's a coincidence. Not like thay sat down and like "I give you one BYLM for that Un-break My Heart tune". Essentially, yes. I think it's just coincidence as they were both written by Diane Warren, and they were shopped around and released around the same time. Quote Peace and love to all.

fred Posted July 9, 2019 at 10:19 PM Author Posted July 9, 2019 at 10:19 PM (edited) Haha! I find Skies of L.A. quite good. Not catchy and hit material but a nice closing of an album. Guetta though... I had hoped for something truly bombastic really using those vocals in a soaring EDM making a new masterpiece. But no... "Let's try something else" Why oh why! Edit: And Sia can keep tunes like this to herself and give Céline Chandeliers... no that wouldn't give Sia hits now would it. Edited July 9, 2019 at 10:20 PM by fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Davey84 Posted July 10, 2019 at 08:53 AM Posted July 10, 2019 at 08:53 AM We discussed this last summer.Unbreak My Heart turned down by Céline Dion went to Toni Braxton (I wish she didn't turned down this song it fits for her LTAL Album) - perfect for Braxton, because of the R&B vibe -I Don't Want To Miss A Thing turned down by Céline Dion went to Aerosmith- perfect for Aerosmith because of the Rock vibe -There You'll Be turned down by Céline Dion went to Faith Hill- After BYLM and MHWGO, people were fed up with big Celine*s ballads, and ANDHC and IA were theperfect comeback singles in 2002. And Celine herself did't want another big movie ballad after TITANIC. WRONG!! Céline turned down Spanish Guitar! I clearly remember Toni saying that in an interview for Dutch TV, where she also admitted to turning down BYLM! Spanish Guitar was also written by Dianne Warren. Céline thought it was too much R'nB for her. I don't think Céline would have turned down Unbreak My Heart, cos that's a ballad and it would have fitted her style perfectly back then. 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

I was expecting something totally different from Sia and Guetta No. You were expecting something like the 1000 songs done by Sia and Guetta which are all the same. Then you ( not you especially, but most of the people here) would have jumped to criticize Céline because she sounds like this or like that. We've been there already. LMBTL says "hi". So yes to some , it might not be as good as some of Sia's songs - or most specifically radio compelling - but it still screams Sia all over. What you call different , wouldn't be actually. Quote

I always thought she had actually turned down Unbreak My Heart! Speaking about refused songs, I think she also turned down Heaven's What I Feel for the Let's Talk About Love album back in 1997. According to rumors, Celine even recorded the song but didn't think the sound would fit the album she was preparing back then. comingback Posted July 10, 2019 at 02:20 PM Posted July 10, 2019 at 02:20 PM (edited) On a second thought I think Céline wouldn't had done the songs the same justice as the ones who ended up singing them. She wasn't as compfortable in singing low keys so they'll have to be changed to higher keys and I'm afraid she would had made them sound... eh, cold. Both Un-break My Heart and There You'll Be rests quite much in the lower register and both Toni and Faith gives a lot of warmth there. Céline doesn't always go for a warmth and smoothness when she goes low but more raw and ehm "bedroom" (there are exeptions, and wonderful ones like Bewitched and Blue Christmas and somewhat in the clips we have of Play Me Like A Love Song). Yes, that's why I don't like WHY OH WHY, she isn't smoothy enough (only Toni can sing the lower register so amazing). That's why UBMH fits Braxton's voice more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgu_7XBzbfo WRONG!! Céline turned down Spanish Guitar! ajguerras Posted July 11, 2019 at 01:39 AM Posted July 11, 2019 at 01:39 AM I consider myself a hardcore fan, but still I am honest enoguh to admit: a) Our girl is not the wisest girl around when it comes to her career decisions. This includes picking songs, choosing marketing strategies, creating songlists and picking outfits. At least she is guilty for the failures of her team. Celine hates to record videos (at least in studio).c) She is not extremely worried about the impact of her physical appereance in her career. Even with this fashion thing I think she does it only because she enjoys it a lot.d) She likes to keep the things simple, no complication at all; no over production (like Mariah, JLo, Taylor or Madonna who carefully manage all of their moves in the bussiness). Which I understand since she has been working since the age of 5. Even though, I still love her. And I really think that she is the only 90's diva who could get back to the top of charts; but making the right decisions. And I if had to express all the good things I find in her then this post would never end. Now you can throw your stones. 2 Quote I need someone to loves m like Celine loved René... Javito Posted July 11, 2019 at 07:01 PM Posted July 11, 2019 at 07:01 PM (edited) “Heavens What I Feel” was a missed opportunity tho Some fans are still waiting Celine to record a concept dance album, like Gloria did in 1998 with her non-stop play album Gloria! Then came Madonna in 2005 with Confessions On A Dancefloor, same concept. Both albums found massive success and are some of the most celebrated both among fans and critic reviews for both artists. Shouldn't Céline learn for once and take some example of what audiences like all over the world and what concept of album is generally likely to find success everywhere?
