i don't care if is Rihanna's rejected, sometimes a song goes to other singer for a reason

If it is a song left out of Rihanna's album perhaps it was meant to be Celine's. I just hope it's as good as I'm thinking it can/will be.

I dont get the correlation... there are many songs which have other singers on it who have never released it to our knowledge or even recorded it. Not to mention that if it was registered in December after Celine obviously recorded it... that might show she recorded it after Celine, if at all

Just because they were big hits and successes for others, doesnt mean they would’ve been for Celine. Unbreak my heart for example wouldve seemed too RnB and she probably (knowing 90s media) would’ve been made fun of for it.

 

I Dont Wanna Miss A Thing was very rock, it also would’ve meant heavy promo after the song and films release, which she probably didnt want after MHWGO, that and again, one persons success doesnt guarentee anothers. Aerosmith did something with that song i doubt anyone else could, as did Faith Hill and Toni Braxton with their respective songs

I think Céline’s version will be more like a movie style like Ashes, My Heart Will Go On (Movie Version), Then You Look At Me (Movie Version) & There You’ll Be (Movie Version). More orchestral and have more cinematic bass.

Treat her like a lady is reggae, not gangsta. And yes, if you google reviews of LTAL, many point out THLAL as being cringe or just bad. And not everything she touched turned to gold, hence how her chart performance in the US was fairly poor compared to everywhere else (not bad by any means, but compared to other territories...). She was at her peak, doesnt mean it would be a hit or turn to gold. Toni, Aerosmith and Faith made the songs what they are, their own personal vocals and sounds. We cant compare these things because at the end of the day, we would never know

Exactly yet some people keep bringing this up as if she picked the wrong songs!! Looks she had many hits at the time so she couldn't just keep singing movie songs ALL THE TIME after all the movie songs she had hits with!!

On a second thought I think Céline wouldn't had done the songs the same justice as the ones who ended up singing them. She wasn't as compfortable in singing low keys so they'll have to be changed to higher keys and I'm afraid she would had made them sound... eh, cold.

 

Both Un-break My Heart and There You'll Be rests quite much in the lower register and both Toni and Faith gives a lot of warmth there. Céline doesn't always go for a warmth and smoothness when she goes low but more raw and ehm "bedroom" (there are exeptions, and wonderful ones like Bewitched and Blue Christmas and somewhat in the clips we have of Play Me Like A Love Song).

I disagree, when I hear the song “Why Oh Why” I instantly think of Toni Braxton and Celine slays that style, I think “Why oh Why” is an unappreciated gem!
