Unisono Posted November 13, 2019 at 06:09 PM Posted November 13, 2019 at 06:09 PM Remember this? same ponytail style Then you look at me was perfect. This one doesn't add anything to the song. Too much arms movements and poses. Pointless. It's ok to see empty spaces.... But the floor could be used more to add objects of the past and her memories. Photography and Celine are very good. But that's not a music video, according to my tastes, of course. 4 Quote
todos Posted November 13, 2019 at 06:18 PM Posted November 13, 2019 at 06:18 PM I like the dark parts more than the white background parts. Something different. Great song, beautiful video. 3 Quote
Popular Post maki_Dion-er Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:22 PM Popular Post Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:22 PM (edited) It astonishes me how much my opinion differs from 95% of the members on this forum. The video is simple, elegant, artistic, and the tone just right for this song. I don't know what people were expecting when Courage is such an intimate and emotional song. The play with the lighting to highlight Celine's form was beautiful and she knows really well how to use her body for this concept. I especially liked the transition where she's sitting lit by the spot light and then the camera pans out as the white backdrop is lit and she becomes just a silhouette. Saying this is the same as Imperfections is tone deaf imo. I'm sorry if that comes out offensive. The only thing this video and Imperfections have in common is the black and white and the fact that it focuses on Celine only. Also, similarities bewteen two videos of the same album isn't a bad thing, for all we know they might have been following a theme line to connect all videos she has done. Is the video perfect? No, I don't think so, but it isn't as bad as some people view it. You can see they put thought into it, more thought than many of her past videos have had.I think this would have been a perfect moment to have Celine showcase a little of her dancing. Not a big choreography but more so having it be like she's getting ready to train or start her ballet session of the day and at certain parts of the song she does an interpretive dance of sorts. She was already doing it in some moments but was restricted by the dress and heels. It would have made the fact that she was in a single spot not be so noticeable or feel like she was just wandering aimlessly as some mentioned. I also think it would have been interesting if the video had been shot in a single take. Maybe that was their original intent because there are some long takes at the beginning and end. Well that got long lol. Anyway, I liked the video and thought it was more creative than Inperfections which felt a bit more generic imo. Edited November 13, 2019 at 07:23 PM by maki_Dion-er 12 Quote
Popular Post smw Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:35 PM Popular Post Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:35 PM (edited) She is so iconic in this video. I love the simplicity. It’s all about HER. She’s stunning. Powerful. Vulnerable. This video lets the song and the emotion shine without distraction. The lighting is magnificent. For all the ppl out there who used to say Celine Dion is always “too much” this video will shut them down fast. This era will reintroduce Celine to the masses in a new, even more sincere way. Keep watching the videos y’all! Let’s get those views up. Also — a few things to keep in mind that we take for granted because we follow her every move but a casual viewer will certainly notice by watching this music video: -Celine’s first language is French -Celine’s vocals are STILL off the charts -Celine’s in impeccable shape -Celine is indeed a fashion icon -Celine’s incredibly elegant -Celine’s fighting to stay strong despite going thru so much -Celine understands the power of simplicity This video is the opposite of throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. It’s powerfully simple. A job well done! I hope her album hits #1! Edited November 13, 2019 at 08:03 PM by smw 21 Quote
giannislyber Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:39 PM Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:39 PM I was reading some of the comments before watching the music video and I was expecting to see something horrendous. On the contrary, I think that it is simple indeed, but elegant and classy at the same time. And of course Celine looks stunning 5 Quote

Popular Post Chantemoi Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:48 PM Popular Post Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:48 PM (edited) This is my favourite Céline Dion music video in YEARS!! She’s using a minimalist approach. The lighting is so dramatic. I love how she glides through the light and shadows. It’s an artistic depiction of the waves of grief she goes through day-to-day. So understated and elegant. I’m sure this is exactly what the boss wanted! Bravo TC!! 👏 Edited November 13, 2019 at 07:49 PM by Chantemoi 8 Quote
ehild Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:51 PM Posted November 13, 2019 at 07:51 PM Personally, I find the video an artistic representation of what the song represents w/her new life on her own. The simplicity & elegance of it is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it that way. It's her....on her own.....learning to navigate things on her own. She ventures a tad bit into her new found love for ballet. My only complaint is that I wish she would have done more of this (the ballet video for the tour is amazing!!). And the end: that face, the tears....it's very emotional and raw. Which is what she has been these last few years. That's my take on it at least. I was wrong about the dress, though. We've still yet to see that video. I'm going to assume, for now, that it was for LD. 4 Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. Popular Post Alex_Incognito Posted November 13, 2019 at 08:26 PM Popular Post Posted November 13, 2019 at 08:26 PM I am floored. For some reason watching this video made me feel the emotion I felt when I saw her perform the song in St. Louis. It goes perfectly with the visuals. Finally they are getting the diva thing right with Celine. She looks like perfection. Law must be gone, and good thing if thats's the case. She looks gorgeous. Really, she has never looked better. We are being spoiled in this era. I hope it never ends. I am trying to savor each moment-----especially since they are pulling out all the stops this time. 9 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Not necessarily hip-hop but just dancing. I'd die if LD turned out to have more dance elements in it for the video. 2 Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. It’s all very up to date. I’m not a fan of all the cuts though. It could have been done better and more fluent. But all in all I’m totally over the moon that we have a new real music video from her!And this video is still miles better thsn the Je taine encore video haha 2 Quote

Lolo88 Posted November 13, 2019 at 10:49 PM Posted November 13, 2019 at 10:49 PM The video for "Courage" is pretty simple. Maybe too simple.Even for hardcore fans like us, it's almost.. boring to watch 😕And I think that dress doesn't fit the song and its message AT ALL! It's too sexy in my opinion. But on the other hand ...Lighting is marvelous. Celine's shape and silhouette is magnificent, iconic. She looks classy, elegant, strong and so vulnerable in the same time.At the very end of the video, the way she looks at the camera, that tear.. that's very moving and emotional ❤ Personal note : I wish L.V appeared in some point of the video as a tribute to René (as in the beginning of the "Falling Into You" music video) 😘 2 Quote

Popular Post Celine Fan 77 Posted November 13, 2019 at 11:22 PM Popular Post Posted November 13, 2019 at 11:22 PM Today was the official 'Courage' Listening Party in Madrid. It took place at the Sony Music Spain building in Madrid. The interesting thing is that, before the deluxe version of the album album started playing, they showed an exclusive EPK with Céline talking about the songs from the album. It was filmed in last month in Montreal, when Céline gave all those promotional interviews about the World Tour. It will probably be on her VEVO channel this weekend! 8 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)
