I think Moccio has make a beautiful work here... not that much for what he pretended to work on Celine's song on Instagram.... but at the end it is a beautiful song... so delicate...Celine and the piano.... simply a perfect match... I just missed a bit of emotion in the live version... just for the first performance.. like the very first "My love" live.

Courage is the classy, elegant and emotional Celine that should be...

I believe so but “fail” instead of “fell”. :)

Thanks, guys! I also thought it's fail. But celine is consistent in pronouncing it as fell throughout the song. Not that it takes away from the song, I was just a little confused. Lol

I love this song. This is my second favorite in the group she released recently. I can't hear it too often cuz it's kinda sad, but it sure is the typical ballad we've come to know from her. There are moments when I think she's talking about/to courage itself, then other moments it appears she's talking about/to Rene. Either way, I think this will be extremely emotional live. I felt SO bad for her that the first time she did it live, she forgot the words to how it starts and had to ask her pianist to restart it. She pulled it together, though as she always does. :D :) :wub: :flowers:

The more I listen to the song the more I like it. :wub: ''And it's not easy when you're not with me / This world of madness goes faster now'' is my favorite part.

 

Her phrasing and diction - especially in the soft verses of the song - are exemplary! She has definitely improved over the years. :yes: She connects more to the lyrics she is singing.

Now, of course, for an artist, connecting on that level is a very, very good thing. And it makes it a very real, visceral piece of music that many can relate to. But it also makes it oddly uncomfortable to listen to just as you go about your day - it's a late at night, on a rainy evening kinda song. Not made for every occasion.

 

But I do hope the album is full of more like this. This one is on the same level of artistry we're used to on her French records, and I can only support that.

Sorry I didn't understand. what part of the song are you talking about? You said you had a hard time listening to it! I for one am totally in love with this song.

Like Fly/Vole, Fils de Superman, Petits pieds de Léa, ALPHB, GTSW, etc. Not for every occasion, but I think it’s one of Céline’s defining characteristics as an artist — she’s willing to sing about death and mourning more than any other artist I can think of...

 

Yes it’s astringent, it stings... but it’s healing at the same time. :blush:

Yes, I love it precisely for that reason. And few can do it like she can. But I almost feel like I need to avert my eyes!

I totally understand. The morning this song was released, I played it while I was still in bed. From the first verse, I was already sobbing. Céline makes you feel like she’s singing this song to YOU and you only!!! What a gift!!

It’s a song we all feel a connection to in some way or another. We’ve all had those moments where we’re praying for some courage, whilst in a dark empty space. Or losing someone dear to us, remembering those conversation you loved and long to hear again so much. Celine brings her own stunning emotions to convey a human experience that’s as old as time.

I agree. However, I find that the chorus is a bit strange, like it doesn't fit the song, as if it was taken from another song and put in this one.

I doubt it. It would be released via Sony right? Doesn't matter to me. IMHO most of the are far more creative than official ones anyway. can't wait!

I totally get your point but remix doesn't necessarily mean heavy beat and synthesisers. Could be very subtle with beautiful climax. I trust thats the case here. Let's wait and see. Shall we?

You should listen to their remix of « Je crois toi ». Clearly this person has an idea for atmosphere. I saw the notification last night and I squealed with delight. Can’t wait to hear it!! I wish this DJ was the one making official mixes. I think they have a super creative ear, and know how to utterly transform a song.
