Apparently Adele was just spotted going into a recording studio.

 

Wouldn’t it be a dream come true if she had a duet with Celine on Celine’s new album??!

 

That’d be the attention grabber to ensure another #1 song for Celine.

 

Regardless, I think Celine’s album will hit #1 no matter what.

I'd totally move back to the UK if she got a RAH residency :) (Well, provided Brexit falls through, that is.)

 

Haha yeah and luckily only 2 and half hour flight for me. I'd be there all the time lol

 

 

She's just ending a residency, a long one. Why would she want to do one so quickly anywhere else? :)

 

Of course just a wishful thinking. That's what most messages here are about, wishful thinking and that goes for the London residency.

 

But going back to reality, no there is no way that's ever going to happen. I see her maybe do a really short one, 1-2 month. Her boys are home schooled, so it won't disturb their studies.

I can't see her do another residency for years. I have a feeling that she's tired of it and wants to be more free.

i think celine is releasing the album together with the tour tickets to sell a combo that will make her back to the charts.

 

same stuff backstreet boys did and janet did ...and lots of artists are doing.

Mariah is calling hers a residency in Albert Hall London and it’s onky 3 shows. It doesn’t have to be long. But I don’t actually think this is what Céline would announce as I agree, doesn’t really make sense and surely she’d announce that in U.K. and not LA etc etc

yes , i went to a janet jackson tour in 2015 the cd came later in the mail

I hate when they do that. Make you pay for a CD you don't want and have no way to listen to. I now have a stack of them...used as coasters.

For me it depends on the artist. For certain artists, I still love having a physical copy to make the experience of "the album" feel more complete. When I first became a Celine fan, I spent hours poring over album art for FIY, TCOML, and D'eux. It kind of makes me sad that beautifully designed album packaging is becoming more and more rare.

There is one specific line in that original event email that got sent out last week that really bugs me, which is "Seating is limited and this invitation is non-transferable."

 

If the email invitation is non-transferable, perhaps those of us that didn't receive it won't be allowed in even if we did fill out the form? The way I took it, that original email was the invitation and the link was to RSVP. Hopefully I'm wrong and some of us fans get to attend. *fingers crossed*

Anyone on this forum live in California and got the confirmation email?

 

I took a screencap of the message after filling out the request and it says you get the final confirmation "on or about" March 28. So chances are you get it after?

I'll buy the Deluxe version of the new album... most likely and it will be streaming on Spotify the same day... probably. But IF they do this, I think it will only be for North America, not rest of the world.

You don't buy Célines CD, only online version?

 

I bought a laptop 2 years ago and it HAD to have a cd drive. I've rarely used it though. And I don't really play CD's anymore, just stream them on Spotify. But I have to have the physical copy of the CD's (Céline only)

Guys c'mon ... why would Celine had any residency in UK?!? .. UK undergoing the major political crisis with complete unstable government and economics. She have no strings here in UK and she never even mentioned that before ... This is the most ridiculous option.

 

I strongly believe that this event is related to a launching her new album and possible US/World tour.

 

Actually, Celine HAS mentioned a desire to do a residency type show in the U.K.

VERY good point. I live in LA and have not received an email. I have also been checking all day like crazy. I may have missed it, but who got the original email and what special connection do they have? I am beginning to think this is a industry only event but on the other hand I wouldn’t think it would be an AEG website with a registration form.... I guess time will tell! I hope we find out sooner rather than later because I might go crazy otherwise!

Part of me wonders if perhaps emails DID go out today, but maybe there was some fine print about this event being completely hush hush and details are NOT to be leaked. No doubt info spreads like wildfire among us fans, but if it's people connected to the industry that were invited, their lips may be sealed and we'll be less likely to find out info until it's allowed to be found out. ;)

 

Only speculating of course - who knows. I do enjoy the mystery of it all. Quite exciting that it seems as though we have a lot of Celine to look forward to in the coming months.

 

Here's hoping all of us just wind up with invites and event details tomorrow! haha Their loss if they don't let at least some serious Celine fans in. :giggle:

Yeah and also, it's one of the only other cities where artists like Celine have done or attempted residencies.

 

But, I do agree it would be a huge gamble considering the political situation.

 

In any case my idea is not London per se, but rather that she might decide to do a series of short residencies (1 month max) around the world instead of a world tour.

 

Celine leaving Vegas is forcing AEG to re-evaluate the business model for Concerts West. It's also led to a huge staff shakeup as the Coliseum era is ending. Simply doing one big world tour and then nothing is not a business model. Celine is too important for them, and I also don't think she wants that. They need a plan that can last them more than just a year or so.

 

So, I can envision the idea of a 3 year "global residency" where she gives 1 month of shows in a major city, then takes 3 months off, then moves to a new city and does it again, but with a different setlist and maybe a slightly different concept. This would allow her to "tour" without causing a massive disruption to her life and would satisfy AEG's need to capitalize on Celine as a continuous revenue stream.

 

Think of it as continuing the mini-tour model but building that into a new business model that could be the next step after Vegas for other artists AEG represents.
