browseceline Posted June 3, 2019 at 06:12 AM Posted June 3, 2019 at 06:12 AM (edited) You do whatever you want!! This is your time with Céline and if you want to sing and dance then you should and not let any misery guts ruin your fun. If they want to sit, they can but you have every right to go crazy. The first time I saw her, someone tapped me on the shoulder and told me to sit down- in short, it was the last thing they said to me because I made it quite clear that this event was my reason for being and existing and that nothing would stop me. Im not a selfish person- the opposite. But with Céline....I draw the line. That is quite egoistic don't you think? You are not the only one that wants to have a good time. you are not the only one that waited months to see and hear her life for their first time. If you want to dance and sing the whole time then take a standingplace on the field - if there is not - respect that it is not Your own party but that there are many more people around you that want to enjoy their concert as well and paid to be there. respect please. scielle Posted June 6, 2019 at 01:18 AM Posted June 6, 2019 at 01:18 AM (edited) For a while there I was worried we won't get a "Summer of Celine", like we did for the past few years. Her gallivanting in front of fancy hotels and posing for the cameras in wacky outfits. But, I have a feeling we might just get a "Summer of Celine" in Quebec. I think while rehearsing and seeing family & friends for campfire singalongs, she might pop up here and there around Montreal just to keep up the social media presence between now and the start of the tour.At least I hope so! Chantemoi Posted June 6, 2019 at 09:02 PM Posted June 6, 2019 at 09:02 PM if you have paid more than 100 euro to have a seat the last thing you want is someone blocking your view. if everybody stands, okay i will stand as well. But during the other moments please be seated, you ruin someone else’s concert experience. And another thing i really hate is when people sing along loud so you cannot hear the singer anymore. She won’t hear you anyway! so my advice, and what i usually do when i really want to - lipsync;) But what if you’ve paid $300 and you want to stand up and dance at the concert you’ve been waiting for? You’ve paid more than the people sitting behind you, and I think you should feel free to dance if you want to. 🙃 Quote

Just as you cannot demand everyone stand the whole time, you cannot demand that everyone sit the whole concert, either. A few years ago, I got into it with some older couples at a Cyndi Lauper/Cher concert because they were yelling at my friends to “Sit DOWN!” - during the HITS!!! They came up during the intermission and scolded us for being “disrespectful to Elders.” I was totally flabbergasted. I mean, I see their point, but if they wanted an uninterrupted view from a seat, they should have bought tickets OFF THE MAIN FLOOR on a balcony or along a railing. We sorted it out, but man it was ugly for a minute 😅 Edited June 6, 2019 at 09:14 PM by Chantemoi Quote

But in reality most of time even for the ballad, everyone stand up and sing along, they really enjoy that special moment. I think for a pop concert, sing along, stand up and dance is like rain, tax, it's inevitable. Edited June 7, 2019 at 02:19 AM by gafsa Quote

AdrienneM Posted June 7, 2019 at 02:35 PM Posted June 7, 2019 at 02:35 PM The things the orchestra has done is incredible. Scotts direction of that orchestra he was able to bring life into songs that were nearly 25 years old like Refuse to Dance, he was able to revitalise Love Is All We Need and Treat Her Like a Lady too, not to mention refreshing the ballads. The orchestra under scotts direction breathes so much atmosphere into the music, in ways which Mego and the smaller band couldnt, IMO Mego sucked the life out of certain songs, particularly out of the material from Taking Chances, where as Scott revitalised that on the 2017 tour, as he did with Love Me Back To Life. If the argument is that they can bring in pre recorded orchestral sections, why cant they continue to use pre recorded synth and such as shown on the 2017 tour and keep the orchestra? 4 Quote

You can't expect songs like 'Shadow of Love', 'Fade Away', 'Flying On My Own' (and other highly produced tracks) to have that same sound live with an old-fashioned band/orchestra. We've heard how flat songs like LMBTL, SOL, Incredible, etc sound. The orchestra has been gone and done, as much as I love it (you can't call the musicians she took on the 2018 tour an orchestra). Sure I'm all for the horn section coming along again, but other than that... it's time for a sound that matches or improves on her studio sound. For the COURAGE tour. They need to take a pill and have more courage; new sound, new production; new songs, new possibilities. If Scott was able to revitalise 20 year old synth tracks incredibly with an orchestra, SOL and Fade away are a walk in the park. It was Mego, if i do remember, that destroyed their arrangements and removed all the flair, *those* were flat and boring. Scotts LMBTL too was increidble and modern. Quote

Yes, it was Mego's "doing", and Yes, Scott vastly improved the arragements and I love his work. But Scott has always been more of an "orchestra" conducter and this is evident in his live arrangements, but also on his studio work. The bass is very prevalent in the second clip, but poor audio quality and the lower key distort that. Imo, the second 2017 clip had far more LIFE in it, than a performance that was more or less just the studio instrumental ripped and dubbed over the actual audio While I agree Scott's arrangement of LMBTL was better than Mego's, it still misses the "oomph" the studio version had. And I think they agreed (and it also showed from the audience's reaction), as there's a reason the song was taken from the setlist. 3 Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY

It's much more alive than the boring orchestral arrangements.. It's just doesn't work for songs like this. Orchestral arrangements are best in ballads but her new music from her upcoming album needs to be like this and not the orchestral arrangements or it will sound flat. It needs some bass to wake up the people.. like feeling the bass in your chest thumping. lol Edited June 7, 2019 at 03:47 PM by jpatdeleon09 Quote
