Yeah but still is a bit unfair. I mean it's very unfair for the people that have been following her since forever, i get that. Personally i'm not that mad about the list nor with the medley, she is fantastic during the medley, but there are some songs that can go away and never return (BATB, TLYM, Kiss) and be replaced by some non "LV/tour 2018" songs. She can easily please the people that couldn't go to Vegas (although there are hundreds of videos online) and the die hard fans who' ve watched this show also hundreds of times.

 

If they change just 3 of these songs, any 3 songs that she has sung 1-2k times, people here will be way happier. She doesn't even have to bring extra rare songs, she has so many hits that casuals know, like TC, ANDHC, IS, EOM, IDAN etc, and wouldn't be disappointed to see. I won't talk about You're the voice since obviously that's something she loves and it seems to work very well, but i'm sure that there are songs that she can't stand singing but are still in the list. Just change those with other hits. I just hope The Prayer and TLBSEPT stay in and not be replaced by a new album song and PQTME.

 

People also need to remember that she has now gone from a 4000 seat theater, that was filled with more gambler comps than general fans; to touring 30-50-60,000 seat arenas. Hometown, general public and casual fans are going for those songs. Also, Celine has only had 4 number 1 hits in the US. Exactly. She will sing her number one singles and then she should move on to other “fan favorites”. ANDHC being one of the songs that people automatically know from Celine and also IDAN ( diehard fan or not people know those)

 

LOVE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS, RIVER DEEP, YOU’RE THE VOICE, LETS DANCE, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST, LADY MARMALADE, TO LOVE YOU MORE and even THE PRAYER all could go away in place for other songs and almost nobody would miss them ( fan or not)

 

I was at the Cleveland show and enjoyed it, however it would a lie for me to say the setlist is at the best it could be. Now the setlist really doesn’t need that much work 4-5 Changes could easily take this setlist to another level. Removing some of the above songs and replacing them with some hits like IDAN and ANDHC, and a couple new songs like “Imperfections” could make all the difference.

I honestly don't think we're going to get many more songs once the album comes out. Those of you insistent that the setlist is changing are setting yourselves up for disappointment. I predict two max with fomo being one. And what songs will it replace? It isn't going go be YTV...lcmm and batb are really the only fillers and i don't see them going either. They removed the reason for no replacement, so perhaps they just add the two new songs, but I can't see anything else being removed to make room for 6 new songs or anything like that. HER hits we don’t have a problem with ( even tho I’ve been over BATB for years now lol ) I understand why she does them, it makes perfect sense...: however, there is plenty in the setlist besides the “hits” that are and should be interchangeable...........

I agree. I don't expect more than 3 songs from the new album. I'd be very surprised with four.

I’m expecting at least 4 songs off the album once it’s released. That might be wishful thinking on my part. But she did 6 for TCWT and, while I don’t expect 6, I really do think she’ll at least do 4. Especially if there are new uptempo songs she can add. (Although, she ain’t doing FOMO which I don’t understand at all. Imperfections I get. I don’t see that translate well on stage. It’s more mid-tempo with really repetitive lyrics.)

I'm thrilled that the audiences are eating up this show!!

 

I imagine as the tour continues we won't see major changes to the set list. But we'll see another chestnut or two along with a couple more songs from the new album. When I went to see Shania Twain's most recent tour, the majority of the audience chatted / went to get drinks during any of her new songs. But they wept / sang along / were amazed by the classics. Celine and her team know how this stuff works. Celine's been in the game a loooooooong time and we need to give her more credit. Celine knows what the hardcore fans want. But she also knows how to please a crowd. Hopefully someday we'll get that One Night Only concert of rarities but her team has to be careful about what the present to the masses so they WOW everybody.

 

It seems like Celine's getting more and more into the groove with each show. I also can't wait for all the promo that will come with the release of COURAGE. I bet we'll get some live performances of songs as part of TV promo that we might not see in the tour.

Id possibly also make her have very special ticket selling strategies. Example:

For the Love of God , I just don't understand why she hasn't been doing Meet and Greets on this tour, since her shows starts at 8:15 or around that time frame , She could easily do them before she goes on,

But if they know that the diehard fans would love to hear more lesser-known songs, you could easily 'please' them with adding 1-3 rare songs.

 

The amount of 'known' songs for 'the people that didn't made it to Vegas, or the' general' fans is still big enough to cater them.

 

Especially when you tell us that 'you could easily add 25 more songs'

 

I bet those include some gems we hadn't heared in while that would show more diversity than it does now. Example:

IS, WDMHBN, Immortality, TC, LMBTL, ANDHC, IDAN, Unison, Tell Him.

 

Other than that, great all the reviews are very good and the audience loves her

Can't wait to see what she will add from Courage, makes me wonder if she will use the Montreal shows for the première of those ones.

 

 

 

Some people can’t spend thousands of dollars to go to Vegas, but they can spend a few hundred on a ticket in their hometown. I was only able to go to Vegas once during the “Celine” era, and I had to go there for a wedding...when Celine was off for two weeks. But I had to save my money and be there for the wedding and couldn’t afford to make two trips to Vegas. And I live in the US. It’s not easy to “just go to Vegas.”

If you mean her singing the song "Reveal", I would love that. Since kids might come to shows it might not be the ideal song for her to sing, but as it's never been performed before I could SO get behind that.

I see no problem with kids listening to Reveal. Sex is implied. But even if it was not, I do not think they would be shocked or traumatized.

For those who don't like the medley, just be glad it's not 10 minutes longer!

The "diehards" dont even make up like 5% of her total audience. I mean this forum is what? 30,000 people (mind you its the same 30 active all the time)? How many off of this forum would be attending every show? Chances are none. At a venue of say 15,000, you'd be lucky is 5-10 mega fans were there, so how do we feel we can demand anything when we're such a small subsection in the grand scheme of things. OF COURSE i want a better set list in terms of fan favourites, but its silly to act as if we're in any position or have any right to demand anything... let alone say whats crap or great when this tour has had nothing but stellar reviews from critics and the GP

Surely even the most casual of the "general public" aren't expecting to hear John Farnham, Prince or Queen songs when they go to a Celine Dion concert.

 

I can't remember ever going to see another artist and thinking to myself during the show "oh really hope they sing Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion tonight."

I agree. I think 1 or max 2 covers per concert should be enough. Then it becomes too Karaoke-ish and the songs lose their meaning and purpose. You also make another good point - Celine seems to be caring about the music of other singers more than any other singer cares about her music, or about incorporating her music to their tours for that matter. Same thing with Celine and her Adele fandom. She went crazy over Adele, praising her again and again and again. Normally, it should have been the other way around.
