sarit_celine Posted October 21, 2019 at 11:43 AM Posted October 21, 2019 at 11:43 AM Guys let's take it easy, well it's not fair to come toward Isurrenderwhen her team said the show will be nothing we've seen before and that the show will include some gems they rediscovered. I didn't expect anything of dancers and crazy stage setI care only for Celine and how she devliers the songsbut understand the disappointment given what they promised. The real setlist will be after the album is out, then we will have to wait for that momentand yes, so far the setlist is not fairfor the fans as for having only 2 songs.I can't understand what she has against I. Other than that she is getting better and betterwith her singing, I'm glad she found a way to handle better LDand as for RDMH she is not singing it as she is being forcedor something, she doesn't quite go for the high notesand it's understable, it's not easy song to singso she is playing around the notes there.I actually (still) like to hear it 4 Quote "Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City HallNeeded where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"

Popular Post scielle Posted October 21, 2019 at 11:50 AM Popular Post Posted October 21, 2019 at 11:50 AM I have to say its surprise for me there are no dancers on this tour as its big world tour. I would expect something more than Celine and her band yes of course her voice is main reason to go to see her but still few dancers during some songs would be nice and could give those songs she is singig again and again something new at least visualy. Just saw trailer of Mylen Farmer tour film and I was like OMG what a production. Celine world superstar and her show is so cheap compare to another singers which cant be compared to Celine and they still have better production of tours. Bigger =/= better. TCWT had a far cheaper look than Courage. turning a famous duet into a solo (as opposed to on-screen) You want The Prayer on screen? How? Why?!The solo version of The Prayer is easily the second best thing about this set list, aside from Tous les blues. It's absolutely perfect. Thank god they didn't mess with any hologram tackyness or anything like that! Phew. 8 Quote

And very few artists (not to say anyone) starts a new show named after one new album and doesn't open the show with one of the new songs… And the first song from the Courage album doesn't come almost until the middle of the show has been performed (in the 12th place on the setlist). Ridiculous for a tour called "Courage", when should be called "Greatest Hits" tour instead and so far. 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

couldawouldashoulda Posted October 21, 2019 at 12:37 PM Posted October 21, 2019 at 12:37 PM I’d rather they have the DJ like they have now and have her go on at 8:15 instead of a Gordy Brown-type like they had for TCWT and have her go on later. Unless the opening act is good, it’s a waste. Interesting to hear. I don’t remember there being a DJ in Quebec (but it’s possible I didn’t notice.) Is it new for the States? I *have* been noticing a trend lately of having a DJ before a concert begins. I’m not a fan because I love live performances! It’s a great way to be introduced to a new artist as well. The DJ thing just ends up sounding like background noise to me. But I’m sure it’s much cheaper than having to pay another artist to follow you and perform on tour so I imagine the trend will continue to go in that direction. 1 Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted October 21, 2019 at 12:41 PM Posted October 21, 2019 at 12:41 PM I'd rather have Celine start as close to on time as possible and 0 opening act. You never get that time of your life back. 5 Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990
couldawouldashoulda Posted October 21, 2019 at 12:48 PM Posted October 21, 2019 at 12:48 PM I hear you. Celine doesn’t start anywhere close to on time though. I’d much prefer to be entertained by another artist for 30 min and then have her come out when she usually does. It makes the evening feel more like an “event”. Plus, I paid $900 for the tickets, I expect more than a 1hr 45 min show. Streisand is another artist who doesn’t do the opening act. However, she has artists join her on stage to sing with her and then do a set while she takes a break. She also tends to do a 2 1/2 hour to 2 hr 45 min show. (And takes an intermission in there.) It helps the concert to feel more like an event to me - something special. 1 Quote

Yes, I do remember. The first thing I said once a new tour was announced in January, even before Vegas was done and even before we hadn't even the title of a new album then, it all sounded ridiculous. But others will tell you that she is extremely successful because she sells out shows within hours of presale, and that's the only success they see . In the eyes of these people, Celine is still the best and most successful female singer out there. But my disappointment comes and goes way further than ticket sales: artistically, Celine's career hasn't go anywhere since 2007. She stopped being creative in the studio, she has taken a big distance from her recording activity in the music studios. She stopped performing like a true artist, finding the next level of performance to her songs, showing the public her evolution as a singer and as a performed. She decided to stay in the same point forever, doing what's more convenient and safe for her: to never change a comma of her performing-routine. She hasn't moved a step from where she was 12 and 17 years ago. And that's quite disappointing, for someone who has the best voice to do whatever she would like to sing, and instead, she's always singing the same damn program of songs. Now wait for the same couple of members here coming after this post saying the same "oh, but she is the best-selling performed in the industry", she's a "living legend", and all that. So what? That doesn't mean much, when your career as an artist hasn't gone anywhere since 15 years ago. Now we're about to receive a new English album, that hopefully is going to have some more cohesion and coherence than the previous, and maybe it's going to be her best English material in more than 10 years. But we all know that when the next French album comes, it's going to be the same process as ever: looking for songwriters to send her songs, and same will happen for the next English album. But I miss having another album like "Dion chante Plamondon", with a concept behind, or "1 fille & 4 types", and of course "A New Day Has Come", where all the songs were specifically sent to her thinking in her new phase of her life as a mother, and her happiness. Popular Post Holborn Posted October 21, 2019 at 02:21 PM Popular Post Posted October 21, 2019 at 02:21 PM Don't think this has been posted yet, a review by her https://www.instagram.com/p/B34fuJeAATi/ https://www.dispatch.com/entertainmentlife/20191021/concert-review-celine-dion-singer-stuns-with-unrivaled-vocal-performance In 2017, Disney released a live-action adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast,” the 1991 animated classic. Since then, multiple remakes have been released or announced, garnering lukewarm reviews. Banking on nostalgia may pay off financially, but often the original magic is lost. Celine Dion does not have that problem. As she sang “Beauty and the Beast” at the Schottenstein Center on Sunday, she showed no sign of vocal wear or emotional staleness that may have set in nearly 30 years after she made it a hit. The Canadian singer may represent a bygone era of chart-ruling ballad queens and “Titanic”-mania, but she has the ability to make the songs we’ve heard a million times sound fresh and exciting. That is no small feat after more than 1,000 performances at her Vegas residencies, not to mention multiple world tours. “Courage,” the name of the tour, was shown on the video screens before Dion took the stage, showing off a resplendent, ruby red dress and sleek blonde bin. She opened with the powerful “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” — a courageous choice. But then again, almost all of Dion’s songs require daring vocal acrobatics. Her extensive band, including a string section, appeared during “That’s The Way It Is,” which, though infectious, still sounds too much like a Backstreet Boys song (thank pop songwriter Max Martin). In addition to her iconic voice, Dion is also known for her eccentric personality. At the Columbus show, she fully embraced her quirks in extended monologues. During the first, she lamented about being away from the city for over a decade. “I can’t even count that far,” she said. “Maybe it’s because they locked me up in Vegas and I escaped. Get me out, get me out!” Her humor and showmanship kept her ballad-heavy set entertaining. She punctuated her songs with fist pumps and poses. She cracked jokes in between songs and changed into several costumes—one of which included tear-away, puffy sleeves. And she directed the audience in a singalong to “You’re the Voice” by Australian singer John Farnham. Dion puts such a signature spin on material, it’s easy to forget that some of her biggest hits are covers (e.g. “The Power of Love,” “If You Asked Me To”). And, during one segment of the show, she performed hits by acts like Queen, Prince and Tina Turner, just for the fun of it. She also sang John Lennon’s “Imagine” as a plea for peace and harmony. Still, she made time to sing a couple new songs from her new album, “Courage,” due out next month. Despite selling hundreds of millions of albums, Dion’s music has been criticized for being everything from melodramatic to emotionless. But live, Dion was fully connected to her songs, delivering moving performances. “The Prayer,” originally recorded as a duet with Andrea Bocelli, was especially touching. And “My Heart Will Go On” was performed intimately and earnestly, as if it were her first time. Dion may not be remembered as a legendary songwriter, or someone who constantly pushed artistic limits, but she doesn’t have to be. Her flawless voice and interpretation of songs have cemented her in history. And, among the artists from the great diva era of the ’90s still performing, she is, arguably, unrivaled. Her instrument is in impeccable shape. As we continue to take nostalgia-fueled trips back in time, her dedication to her craft should serve as a point of influence for the next generation. 10 Quote
SantiagoColorado Posted October 21, 2019 at 02:44 PM Posted October 21, 2019 at 02:44 PM (edited) As the order of the songs after the videos seems confusing, I think so, it doesn't fit. I know, normally the videos are a music introduction for the upcoming song... not just a video, then a pause and then a different instrumental, the only one that works it's MHWGO but we all know why. After the first intro and the IACBTMN acapella, FOMO would be a perfect song to start the show, with great mood, and music introduction while the audience is still claping. I wouldn't mind if she lips that song at the very beginning. Edited October 21, 2019 at 02:49 PM by SantiagoColorado Quote
