Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

It seems more and more likely that this tour has been heavily built upon and focused on the english show

I hope so. I hope she doesn’t just keep the same show and just remove the French songs and replace them with her English hits that she has sung in Vegas for years! Listen not asking for much... wouldn’t take too much to improve the show immensely.

Something like this could be great...

Remove Lady Marmalade for LCMM ( because regardless it will be back so better than taking up other room)

Add:

BYLM, TTWII, Ashes...

Add: “Imperfections”

Add: ANDHC ( Radio Remix)

“If you asked me to”

I Drove All Night

And maybe a new medley of songs never done from her back catalogue like maybe 5-6 songs... one song each from those 5-6 albums.

That would totally make this show, great and wouldn’t be a huge leap for her; everything she’s done except the unknowns medley.

Exactly. If i could get an acoustic (or even a full medley with music) of a song from FIY,LTAL,ANDHC,OH and TC shes never done or has very very rarely done would be amazing, if she had one of those in she could have all the basic vegas hits she wants imo

No acoustic memory! On the last tour it was a total mess. The only time it worked was in 1999.

Exactly, she could easily do that and just describe the audience what she’s doing beforehand with a little speech... tell them/us she about song one song each one from her last 5 English albums before Courage, they were never on the radio but she loves them, hope you enjoy it!

Listen, I totally understand she has to please the general public, but to have a single portion or medley in the show to pay nod to her “hardcore fans” isn’t too much to ask imo.

No acoustic just a medley of songs, full band.

Completely untrue. The 2016 acoustic medley was soooooo amazing with the rare, rare songs from 1F4T and then 2018 the medley with that incredible violin rendition of Unison

I forgot about that one, but it didn’t seem acoustic to me.

The 2018 one was awful.

Every acoustic medley I recall has been great. Usually the highlight.

Oh do be quiet. Beauty and the beast sounded great, no sign of cracking, instability or shakyness there at ALL. One of her best BATBs in a long time

If by “in a long time” you mean since the Hyde Park show then yes. As that one was still better.

Absolutely not. The “Bitersweet and STRAAAANGE” note in Hyde Park and for hundreds of shows before hand had been super shaky and weird sounding, this one actually sounded clean, the tone was also less froggy than it had been since at least Asia last year

And Damour Ou Damitie, Ce N’etait qu’un reve, lamour existe encore and ziggy do?

I've just heard the videos from the third night, my godness she gave there crazy high notes!

The part of the drinking is hilarious.

Wondering what she will do here instead of that,

maybe she will go for a song in Hebrew (my language) then I'm....... :whee:

Hope this time she will include Spain for the Tour, basta Celine time has arrived for them as well!

I agree, that wasn’t great. Also, the TTWII, ANDHC, And IA medley was great, if you like the life sucked out of three beautiful songs.

However, a medley with just Celine, the piano and backing vocals could be great... maybe something like:

“Have You Ever Been In Love”, “If You Asked Me To”, “I Know What Love Is”, Stand By Your Side, Ten Days, Right Next to Right One..

Now those aren’t all of my top choices but something like that done on a stripped down piano arrangement could work amazingly.

Please 🤣🤣

Edit: just so we’re clear, those songs in their og form dont go together at all, but in the revised string arrangements they flowed so well and it was so fun and interesting, just as DOD, LEE and Ziggy in their normal states wouldnt go together, but as a medley do

I'm pretty sure IACBTMN is that intimate moment he was talking about.

I love her medleys.

Yes, D'amour ou d'amitié, LAEE etc. do go well together. French earlier songs. Des mots qui sonnent wasn't that long ago, it's true, but it feels like it. From Céline before she was a big international star. Songs that are close to her, that define her.

There's a theme: songs that made her popular in french, that molded her career. Not to mention québécoises songs. And the overall arrangement blend them well together: THIS one felt intimate.

Certainly more coherent than At 17, ANDHC, Unison.

But if I complain about the lack of less-known songs, I can't blame her for this one. Even if it is not at all new territory, they're not worn out like LCMM/RDMH/IA.

Yet, it also clicked. Maybe precisely because they've been less exposed.

And that version of Unison!

Someone mentioned OH. Is it One Heart? We will NEVER have that. Even less chance for Stand by your side.

It makes sense! I didn't see it that way. :thumbsup2:

Considering they will keep Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore as the only french song for the English shows I think they will change the 9 others french songs by That's the Way It Is, I Drove All Night, Imperfections, Because You Loved Me, Ashes, The Reason, Think Twice, Recovering and To Love You More.

As for Lady Marmalade in the uptempo medley I think she will simply sing the English version instead of the French version.

I really hope I'm totally wrong but that's just a feeling I have.

Unless we get WFTM. From the interview yesterday I kinda feel like we'll also get LMBTL. Especially since that album never had a proper tour.

Had another thought about her voice. Not complaining just making an observation. She said in an interview earlier she'd be back and forth between shows to see her kids. Longest stretch she won't see them is something like 2 weeks I believe. Part of me wonders if something really is going on vocally, if she needs rest, if flying in a plane at high altitudes is a good choice, from a voice preservation perspective. And maybe, at least for the start of the tour, she'll maybe postpone one...maybe 2 if needed....of those trips. I understand the mom aspect of this and I'm certainly not saying she should be away from her own children for long stretches. But: if she doesn't we may be in for recurring voice issues throughout the tour. I'm not a professional singer with access to everything she has but I did have a sinus infection once and had to fly....totally lost my voice by the time I got where I was going. I'm by no means saying this will happen to Celine but it's an example altitude can have on an already tired voice.

Plus I think it's such a long tour and then she's adding dates in Europe also that I don't think will help. I'm not saying she doesn't have stamina but boy this a long tour. It's 11yrs. since TTEOTW , she ain't no spring chicken anymore. No hate just the way I see it.

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Here is my audio from opening night in Quebec, September 18th. It's all made up from YouTube videos I put together.

The concert is full, there is only a few seconds missing from Celine's speech after Encore un Soir.

I hope you'll like it :)

Wow, thank you so much for this! The quality is actually awesome, I love it. Very much appreciate you taking the time to record this and split the files!

No disrespect/hate here either, but I am pretty sure she has provided an explanation to your observation - in short, no. She has said repeatedly, in many interviews in recent times, that the days of her vocal chords ruling her life are behind her. And I don't blame her one bit.

I've seen her live 45 times. A few of those times, her voice didn't cooperate with her completely. But most of the time, she consistently delivered. My most recent time seeing her was the last show in Las Vegas. She might be 51, but she's in the best shape of her life physically and 20 years past her prime she is still singing and performing circles around artists half her age.

One thing I wish more people on this forum could comprehend (not you specifically, just a general observation from being a longtime lurker here) is that Celine is well past the point of feeling like she has anything left to prove. She literally says this now continuously in interviews, usually followed by a reminder that she does not at all "need" to continue and that she does it ONLY because she loves to do it. I hate to say it this way, but I get the impression from her that she doesn't really care what any of us think. She says that very nicely. As a fan who has followed her since her beginning here in the USA around 1991, I have to say not only am I not offended by her attitude, I embrace it. I have tremendous respect for her and feel grateful that she does continue to give so much of herself to this art. She could have retired. Worse, she could have gone the way of Elvis or Michael or Prince or Whitney or Luther and been gone way too soon. Instead, she's embarking on what's shaping up to be an enormous tour - visiting fans like me, you, and others around the world. And maybe your show she will have a perfect night. Maybe she will not. But having been to both, I can assure you she puts on quite a show regardless.

It gets super exhausting reading posts here where people are still expecting her and her team to make decisions as if she's still working her way to the top. Maybe it's because they are young and don't remember the 1990s? Maybe it's because it just hasn't clicked that she reached the top and then left the top, voluntarily, in 1999? She doesn't care about hits, charts, streams, plays, whatever. She just doesn't. Obviously she generates enough revenue for Sony to keep her signed, but honestly she has so much money now she could easily just create her own record company. I love to see her being appreciated by a new generation and old ones, too - but I think it a lot of commenters here need a reality check.

Love this! Thank you.
