Yes, but Julio has never had a double career other than his main Spanish-language career. He has recorded songs in English the same as in Portuguese, French, German and Italian, and only ocassionally he has released a full album in those languages (which mostly consist of compilations reuniting all the songs he has been dropping in each language but in different years). On the contrary, Celine has always had, and pretended to have, a double-language career, alternating her albums between French and English releases. This has never been the case of Julio :)

 

I still don’t understand why we are comparing them both, especially since he is not so present and active as Celine...but never mind, maybe it’s a language barrier.

Anyway, let’s not turn this sequel into a trilogy or series.

I presented Julio as an example of a singer being successful singing in Spanish all over the world, and selling millions of albums in countries where they don't speak Spanish at all like China or Germany or Norway... Spanish language in music can be successful anywhere in the world, and tons of hit songs have proven that, and are proving this point every year, whether they are full songs sang in Spanish (Despacito) or songs that do a wink to the Latin/Spanish community including words in Spanish in the verses or titles (Señorita, latest hit by Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes) ... This is happening all the time and is unstoppable, due to the increasing number of Spanish speakers and the Latin community.

 

It wasn't an example to discuss double-language careers and any of that, it was just to refute a stupid argument underestimating that an album of Celine recorded in Spanish wouldn't have a chance to be successful just because it's in Spanish. Precisely because of that, it could be even more successful than her umpteenth release in English :)

 

And sorry for the long off-topic now... :flowers:

Just realized the original topic was not this, so sorry as well,

 

Javi, maybe you are one artistic visionary, cause I for one cannot see her reaching more success in another language, besides English or French; maybe an Opa Gangam style joke hit, but nothing more.

 

And if you want to make a point about reaching non Spanish markets with Spanish songs, chose a singer who is not native in Spanish :D

she also definitely entered non French/English speaking markets...

P.S.: if she ever records a Despacito like, with Aoki beats, feel free to have my collection! I quit!

And people in the United States should know for a fact about this, with the huge Spanish-speaking community they have tsss tsss :innocent:

 

Some people here are too young to know... btw AdrienneM, are you Dion2000 again? Did you change you nickname right? Because you speak exactly the same insulting, arrogant tone as that member and I already had that discussion with her/him not so long ago :hmm:

 

We started a nice discussion about a dream to have

a full Spanish album but once again

the celinesos posts had to come. Awwww.

 

People has really no idea how big is her potential in those contries

happily knowing Celine was and will always be relevant there

and beside that, I bet that even if she will go touring there singing only in English

she will still enjoy amazing success.

 

Btw there is not single post (Regarding Tour) where I won't see

fans from those countries asking her to come.

Just one single word in Spanish can do wonders within a song that is performed in another language, and we're seeing this every year and in every dance club... I'm sad some fail to see this despite they know all these songs, but who am I to convince them if they prefer to live in denial? :confused1:

Love that! I wouldn’t mind it being the album cover just take the words out of the background. For me it’s too much with that too.

I have a feeling it could be part of the album shoot. Just like they used the EOM eye shot for the TC world Tour badges and press passes and it was in the album booklet.

Anyone wonder what the tour book will be like if the album isn’t out already? Surely a new photo shoot would be in a tour book which is representing the album.

 

Maybe they will release a new single as the tour starts and reveal the release date and album cover...

And I am sooooooo ready for it!! I have a feeling this is going to be her last major world tour for another 10 years - long break after it and then a 3rd Vegas residency after that. So I intend on living this tour as much as I can.

Wow. So next tour at 60 something, long break means at least another 3-5 years, at say 65, and then another residency in Vegas. I hate enough to think about a return to Vegas (ehem jail), I don't even want to think how her voice condition will be at 65 or what we're all gonna be doing in ten years :whee: , so yeah, agree on living the present and suck up as much as everyone can of this tour :laugh:

In Céline’s shadow is Montreal based musician, Jeff Smallwood, a new addition to the singer’s band during #Courage. However, Jeff has collaborated in the past with Céline on older albums.
