Does anyone else think the Celinenunu brand was the worst mistake for her reputation, in her career? So many crazy people have made disturbing stories about Celine ever since…. We tend to ignore them on the forum but it’s always all over social media.

 

Every time Celine is popular in the media the conspiracy circus goes wild. From my memory, this only started after that commercial.

i identify as a queer person, i was glad that celine's team decided to do something related to her queer fans (trans, gay, etc)

 

wasn't that ad around her "taking chances" era? her team probably wanted her to look more modern and less conservative, which is a good thing.

the actual clothes are overpriced and are not that interesting, imo. but I like the idea.

Actually the "Celinununu" ear was in late 2018 (it was released in October or November 2018, ify memory serves me correctly.)

 

Yea I remember the HORRIBLE BACKLASH of the clothing line, & the things that people accused Celine (& like you said, some people still do to this day even though the "Celinununu" line no longer exists!) Saying that she "drinks Achrodome AKA baby blood" (or whatever it is called,) & that she "worships satan & the devil" is ABSOLUTELY BULLSH*T & the fact thst people still believe that over 5 years later is clearly insane & stupid as well!

 

I would NEVER believe that of Celine herself, even if the clothing was not to my liking exactly (I am not into the "gothic" style, plus those clothes are too pricy for my kids, I will stick to Walmart & Target, where at least they have decent clothes, & other stuff, in my budget lol,) but the clothing line was a GREAT IDEA in my opinion. Maybe if it was a different style of clothing, it might of lasted longer & faired better?

 

& clearly Team Celine has noticed the backlash, as that clothing line REALLY DISAPPEARED INTO THIN AIR by the time 2019 rolled around! (I looked it up online in late 2019, around the time that the "Courage" album came out, & I have noticed that the "Celinununu" social media pages & the link to their website were all GONE by then lol.)

I didn’t like the clothing tbh… what is stands for is one thing but the execution wasn’t the best. People (by large) don’t want to dress their babies/children into dark and eerie clothing. The whole thing was odd.

I liked it. I liked how they didn’t use color. People feel forced to dress their kids in gender coordinating colors, and if they don’t know what they’re going to be having, then it ends up being those ugly pastel green and yellow. I think the design was intentional in not forcing a gender norm.

I thought the commercial was great as was the intent behind the brand. Didn’t love all the specific designs but appreciate what it represented.

But then Faux News picked a bone with it and got the Illuminati, adrenochrone, flat-earther crowd involved, and there’s no reasoning with that lot. According to them, she wasn’t actually there at the Grammys last Sun, that was a double, because, you know, the real Celine has been arrested and is awaiting a military tribunal. 🙄

Frankly, I don’t think Céline is losing sleep over these wackos dropping out of her fanbase. Nor would I wish to meet any of them at her shows. So no great loss there.

I told her that many people love that song and would like to see her perform it again and she seemed so surprised. Then I told her about the whole “Then You Look at Me” craze and she sang a few lines from it and sounded amazing, though she didn’t remember much about the music video or the connection to Bicentennial Man. Finally, I was just beginning to tell her how much many of us want to hear “Play Me Like a Love Song” but I woke up

It's a great question. I wouldn't call it a mistake, because the message and values were right on point. And Celine has held these values for a long time.

 

The crazies who critique her for it in the comment sections are always looking for something to confirm their twisted conspiracy theories. If it wasn't Celinunu, it was going to be something else. The same people who hate on Celinunu are the ones who though she was "vaccine-injured" because she got her SPS diagnosis after getting vaccinated for COVID. And they're the same ones who see an unflattering picture of her and use the word "adrenochrome".

 

And now, they're the people who are calling her and Oprah "clones" in the comment section. Thinking it was a Celine body double who showed up to the Grammys Celine's high-profile as a celebrity is always going to make her a target for the underworld of people are convinced that Hollywood and all celebrities are somehow corrupt and satanic. It is however an unfortunate happenstance that the Nunu brand happens to have the aesthetic that it does, it only feeds into it. And on an tangential note, I am upset that she chose to partner them being that they're an Israeli company.
