I think that horrible bun suits her for that green and yellow dress...not for the horrible medley dress which makes her look so old. Could someone give Celine a comb? It doesn't seem she has one with her looking at her bun

I found out that on Youtube, Celine Dion is more searched each month than Mariah or Whitney. Celine is about 2 million searches per month, Mariah 1.5m, Whitney 1.2m.

 

So I am positive that the reason Celine has fewer views than they do is because of their social media strategy and Youtube upload shenanigans.

 

Still, nice to see Celine going strong!

she no longer cares. That is the sad truth. She is an acomplished artist that does not need to promote herself anymore or reach out to people to make sure they stay with her, because she and her people know how much people crave her. Thus, they create a lack in order to make the most money possible when she comes back with shows. Smart tactic, but not fair towards her loyal fans. Edited July 6, 2021 at 11:21 AM by ryba

I miss seeing her a lot too but she is on hiatus still. Plus, I imagine being in the constant spotlight non-stop for years is exhausting so I don't blame her for staying away from social media while she's on break.

 

But for sure she's working on creating a great show she'll love and that will make as many fans as possible happy.

 

We'll get to see her regularly in a couple of months.

On the day that Celine’s Christmas special aired on CBS, VH1 had a half-hour special about it right beforehand. I’d guess this footage is from that special. I have it on VHS tape somewhere (or I used to anyway). VH1 LOVED Celine in the late 99s.

She's said multiple times in interviews She's less focused on promotion, etc. She's already proved to the world she can sing, be successful, etc. Now she performs simply because she just likes to sing. That's it.

 

As far as social media goes, she wasn't really raised in a digital age. She'd rather spend time with her family when not performing. Most don't get the opportunity in life to have the luxury of time. She's at a point in her life and career where she does as little or as much as she wants.

 

To a degree I can't really blame her. It's very freeing to not care about the opinions of every single last person. You can't make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time. So why bother?? Just be yourself and do you and those who love you will always be around. I think that sentiment holds very true here too. She's never going to make all of us happy 100% of the time. We all have different tastes, opinions and thoughts on how stuff should be handled.

 

One day, when She's just done performing, we won't have Vegas. Or mini tours. We might get the occasional album. But She's not just starting her career. She's already put a lot of work into getting where she is. I'd want to slow it down too if I were in the same position, performing since I was 13. For now, as a fan, I'm grateful for more opportunities to see her live.

 

My two cents: even if it's frustrating we just have to accept this is what it is. Stop expecting unrealistic things and you won't be continually disappointed. Just because something might be possible doesn't always mean that's going to be what actually happens. It's like She's said: there's a lot in life we can't control but we all still have a choice. We can all whine and complain on here about all the possibilities that may not ever happen. Or we can appreciate She's still recording and performing live. Many artists are long since retired by 50. Not all, but most. Keep that in consideration as well.

I'm glad she's got her priorities straight; ultimately it's what has kept her around for so long and as successful as she is. If I were lucky enough to be in her position I probably would have retired years ago. I'm just glad she truly loves performing and so have faith she will continue doing it for years to come.

 

And I'm perpetually amused by people asking for DVDs In 2021! Do y'all not understand it's a loss-making endeavour?

how is it loss making when they can make money from sales and streams? Other artists still release DVDs. I think it’s their strategy. They want to generate lack and hunger for Celine to make people buy show tickets.

Of course they won't make the big money with DVD's but neither with albums and Sony is still releasing her albums even though they don't really make money from it anymore. Release the footage Sony and make a bit money of it and the fans are happy. Better than not releasing anything, not making any money and letting the fans be unhappy! Just my opinion. I don't get it why they waste such a simple opportunity to make easy money. There are still people who buy DVD's maybe nearly as much as CD buyers

Okay i get you and maybe you are right. But it's not like that nobody is releasing DVD's anymore. So with someone on a popularity level like Celine I doubt it would really be such a big loss of money. I rather believe they would make more money than they may expect. But I can be wrong of course. If other, less popular singers than Celine can release DVD's than for sure can Celine

There's no reason to think Celine who is still selling out shows would lose money on a DVD release. The band Queen released a DVD not too long ago, and it sold loads. Barbra Streisand has an amazing social media presence, as does Annie Lennox. And Elton John does too. They were raised in a digital media age? Or they don't have families?

 

The only ones raised in a digital media age are younger millenials and Gen Z...and yet somehow social media is full of people who were born before 1992...
