Yeah, at this point I think the RH are considering starting WW III because of this documentary... :giggle: :whee:

LOL They can go overboard... but they posted this video:

OK you can be critical about someone, but these people are damn right nasty and only repeat hear say stuff! Especially that woman at the end! WFT!? How on earth does she think asking somebody who lost their other half of almost 30 years how love after death will be is appropriate!?! JEEZ!

This documentary is UNBELIEVABLE !!!

I did not watch the whole thing, just the RH video, but it really drives me crazy!

If this guy doesn't like Celine, why make a documentary about her ?

Let her live her life as she wants to, give her a break, leave her alone for crying out loud !!!!

Yeah, it's ridiculous. RH's reaction to this has been more infuriating than anything in that doc itself. They make us Celine fans come off as hysterical thin-skinned fanatics. (And the fact that several people, it seems, where physically threatened over dissenting opinions of Celine is, I'm sure, the last thing she'd want!)

That show wasn't about to win any Peabody Awards. It's cut & paste entertainment "journalism"... what did they expect? Sure, they quoted several unsubstantiated rumours, but I don't think any of those were conveyed as fact, merely conjecture. And I appreciate that they brought out the woman from L'obs, for instance. It's refreshing to see someone with an opinion; usually these docs are just full of people fawning over Celine like she was Mother Theresa. I appreciate a balanced program even if I disagree with the opinion. (Truly, the only thing that really bothered me about this was that they grabbed a pic form RC's Insta and presented as if that girl was his GF... really?! These are 15-yr-olds and it's none of our biz. Keep her kids out of it.)

So yeah, the way RHs made this into a scandal has been truly embarrassing. I'm glad Celine has a thicker skin than many of her fans and can make a distinction between fluff like this and important things in life!

even Mother Theresa had her critics..

You can be critical on actual facts but you don't have to be nasty on stupid opinions.

I'm not saying she did or didn't. That's none of my business. I will just say IF she ever did have an affair my gut tells me it was more to satisfy a basic human need than anything else. René was sick for quite some time and it has been a year. Of course Rene is the only one she'll ever love, imo. To that end, that's what makes me believe she probably hasn't done anything like that. And it's all rubbish.

well go to 07:05

She said : "He'd prefer to leave. He wouldn't want me to help him to get by, to push the wheelchair, to take care of him.

I think the same " Leave me, I don't want you here, find a new girl and live your life!"

That's the thing though : There was no detail. Started out with some woman (I think she was a biographer) questioning how much of a sex life they still had after all these years (yeah, I know.... :wtf:). Then the guy journalist basically said (and I'm paraphrasing) "apparently there were affairs on her part. Even with a woman, or so I've heard". But he didn't go into detail at all. I don't know about slander laws in France, but I don't think you can be sued for such a vague statement (how can someone prove for a fact that they've never cheated?)

And then there was the scandalous quote from that blonde woman (sorry, don't even remember who she was). They showed the footage of Céline saying her heart for the moment was "locked with a key". To which the woman riffed that "peut-être son coeur, mais pas ses culottes" (maybe her heart, but not her pants).

At that point they rehashed the story about her guitarist Kaven Girouard (sp?).

There wasn't much more to it. Just a few minutes in an otherwise "normal" documentary.

Well, then they also said that René's funeral was a spectacle and criticized Céline for her theatrics.

But at least that's opnion and not made up fact....

Honestly, I hope Céline will never get to see it.

What a terrible time to release such a "documentary" anyway.....

Sounds like a tabloid spectacle to me. Here in the States, you have freedom of speech, and freedom of the press. With tabloids, you can sue for defamation of character. Whether you win or lose remains to be seen until the judge makes his decision. Celine did sue (and won) The National Enquirer for printing a false story about her be By pregnant with twins when she was having trouble conceiving.

Now, I am wondering who the production company of this "documentary" is. Are they connected to a tabloid? And I wonder why this TV station decided to air it. Are they a reputable station in France?

The comment about her pants not being kept locked. Distasteful. And the Kaven story rehashed? #Yawn

As far as the comments about Rene's funeral. Of course it was a big spectacle. It was a State funeral. What theatrics are they speaking of on Celine's part? She was a widow in mourning. She was standing there, greeting every single person who came to pay respects. It's not like she threw herself on Rene's casket, kicking and screaming.

I would honestly take this whole thing with a grain of salt. It'll blow over and I doubt it will make a big splash outside of the fan world.

Who is anyone to judge and question someone's romantic/sex life? How insensitive of them to do this to her on the anniversary of his passing. I can see why the red heads are mad.

We can all be annoyed by the comments. The Red Heads just take everything to another level though. Like they have this selfish need for attention. I don't particularly care for their organization.

when you say organization, it sounds serious...like something James bond could be against.... Maybe Snowden knows something about them... :giggle:

If there's anything annoying behind all this, is that all this has been done when René has passed away, and he's not alive to defend himself and Céline. That's quite coward on their part. The producers of this documentary knew that if they had broadcasted such thing on TV while he was alive, he would surely have sued them :)

Her entrance to the church. That moment has been widely criticised from east to weast, in every news and comments section of the news. We can't deny there was excessive drama on that moment and it was staged in detail down to the millimeter, planified by René too or not.

Obviously :) But they decided to broadcast it. Even the wake was done with much more discretion and tact in this respect, if you know what I mean.

For example, the cameras waiting outside the cathedral when Céline bid farewell and kissed the casket, maybe that wasn't needed either. But everthign was done with such pomp and splendor that surely she knew she would risk critics. I heard some people comparing this funeral to that for J. F. Kennedy (especially for Céline's veil and the kids with her), and she was mocked because of that too.

Yes, there was a theatrical, staged element to the funeral. There is to ALL funerals. That's what a funeral is - it's a public ritual with a structure and theatrical elements (virtually all funerals have speeches by family members, and many have playing meaningful songs, putting up pictures, etc). These are rituals that help people cope with grief. Yes, we could just dump bodies in the ground, but I don't think there's any culture that does that.

It's so weird to criticize her on that basis - then you're criticizing all funerals.

Thanks for the info. As I suspected, these reporters who are making these claims are simply speculating, without any clear facts at all too back up there theories. This behavior shows how these reporters have zero class and they shouldn't be in the business of reporting, if they're just going to make up totally false stories and attack a celebrity, purely because they don't like them. :rolleyes1:

The comparison makes sense. It was a State funeral. Half planned by Rene, half organized by the Canadian government who chose to honor him this way. The people mocking the situation were probably too ignorant to understand what they were criticizing. They figured "its over the top because it's Celine Dion." when in reality, in sure had the Canadian government not approached her, she would have wanted and executed a much more private affair.

So in the last few months I've been seeing an increasing number of videos of sports moments set to MHWGO. Seems it's a thing.

Well, now there's an entire Twitter account devoted to it! :giggle: And it's popping up more and more often in Sports Illustrated and Bleacher Report and other sports press. Go figure.

All sports clips should be set to My Heart Will Go On
