It was one of the best Tony Award shows EVER! Also, Celine would not be making Equity scale. Scarlet Johannson and Al Pacino have both made $500,000 a week for their turns on Broadway. I'm sure Celine would command something similar. Although, she can't really act, as her television appearances have shown, so I don't expect to see her on a Bway stage any time soon.

 

Truth; The "acting" in her music videos is generally of the soap opera caliber at best.

But I thought she was surprisingly strong in Des fleurs sur la neige. Granted, that was ~25 years ago. I wonder if she could pull of something like that now. It was a difficult role and subject matter, and I really do think she did it justice.

 

Celine says she doesn't like musicals.

 

Really?

I only remember one interview where she said she's not particularly interested in doing one.

And then another interview years later where she says she'd love to.

So I don't know what to think...

I have read that Celine's head piece on her wedding day weighed 8 pounds and that when she was on her honeymoon, she woke up with a swollen for head. I am actually really surprised that she even would do something like that, considering she had a injury to her head when she was a little girl from a car hitting her.

 

I think Celine was only 3 at the time, but she had pretty serious brain trauma and almost could have lost her life. Given her past brain trauma, I'm just surprised she would put weight on her head like that.

 

Celine's headpiece was even sown into her hair, so she couldn't even take it off throughout the wedding if she wanted to. I think it was kind of silly for Celine to put herself through that for the sake of fashion.

 

Head injuries are very serious. Look what happened to Bret Michaels after getting hit on the head at the Tony Awards years back. He almost died a few years later. Brain injuries and side effects from those injuries can happen years after the injury takes place, so if I had any kind of brain injury I would want to be careful and protect my head in the future.

 

I have always had that thought in the back of my head about Celine's headpiece. I saw that you were talking about it being so heavy, so I took that opportunity to say my thoughts and concerns about it.

 

Other then Celine being a little silly by putting weight on top of her head like that, I loved her wedding dress and everything about her and Rene's special day! :wub:

Celine was still in Montreal on Sat, right? I'd be surprised if she wasn't there for Marc's show as well (though probably had to hang out backstage, otherwise we would have surely heard about it if she were in the audience!)

If I'm not mistaken, Kaven was the guitarist for Marc before Celine, so if anything Celine just have to do with Marc's left overs :P ;)

I haven't seen this particular one before.

It's just about her visiting Charlemagne and her reminiscing about her life there from birth to 12 years old. She said that her nieces and nephews were still baptized at the church there(at the time). She says they weren't rich nor poor...but never lacked anything.

Celine was born on March 30, 1968 at 12:30am weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces, at Le Gardeur Hospital in Repentigny, Quebec. :)

Today is the 35th anniversary of Celine's 1st TV appearance . . . June 19, 1981 was her first appearance on the Michel Jasmin show, singing Ce N'Etait Qu'un Reve.

Can someone help me find a video clip? It's from LTAL recording.

 

Celine and Bee Gees...there's a point in some film footage of the recording session during which the Bee Gees' voices can be heard and they're talking about why they chose to work with Celine. Barry Gibb, or one of them, says "probably the finest pop singer in the world"

 

I cannot find the video clip in which they are heard saying that!

Yeah, I briefly saw a list and quickly scrolled past it on FB. Luckly I didn't see any names and I also decided to stay away from the concert threat until I see the show July 31st/Aug 1st.
