I agree so much. I think she'd have a chance to show such a funny side of her.

 

I would love it! I am serious about starting some sort of petition(s) for her to do these small events. Like an appearance on Jimmy Fallon (or that musical bit he does with his band all in one room staring at the camera), and NPR Tiny Desk while she's on the East Coast with Rene....would be so amazing! All would go viral so quickly.

OMG!!! Julie looks worrisome. Didn't she give up her journalistic career because of her husband, who's politician? (Somehow she reminds me of Letizia, Queen of Spain, who had been an excellent journalist til the day she met the future king and eventually married. She looked/looks anorexic too.)

 

Last year there had been a coverstory in "7jours" where Julie said, that she los 23 lb. But I don't know how. I guess she started loosing weight for her wedding. But on one point you have to stop. Does not only look horrible - but also is a major health issue!

 

Hope she gets better!!!!

Meanwhile I've found something about her company: Since the beginning of this year she seems to have a lot of trouble because of her Production J and some tax credits. The government seems to ascribe her that she got the production orders of TVA because of her (politician) husband.

 

Here's the article of September 4, 2015. Reading that: It's no wonder to me, that she looks terrible. This must be a MAJOR thing for her. OMG!!!

 

Television host Julie Snyder and her company Productions J applied to Quebec Superior Court Friday to contest their ineligibility for tax credits reserved for independent television producers in Quebec.

The request aims to invalidate the provision of Quebec’s tax law, according to a statement released Friday afternoon, which is preventing Snyder and her production house from benefitting from a tax credit for independent cinema and television in the province.

The application points out certain clauses that “give provincial financial aid subject to the family status of the people involved,” which creates a “great economic disadvantage” for Snyder and her business.

In the last budget, the province’s Liberal government modified criteria of eligibility for tax credits given to independent producers to now be allocated to companies not directly linked to broadcasters.

With this change, Productions J can’t receive the subsidy, because most of its content is broadcast on TVA’s network, which belongs to Québecor, a company mainly controlled by Snyder’s husband and leader of the Parti Québécois, Pierre Karl Péladeau.

Snyder considers it to be a “discriminatory measure” that infringes on her right to equal treatment protected by Quebec’s Charter of Human Rights and Freedom.

The statement also says the complainants won’t provide comment while the case is in court.

The television host announced at the end of June that she was forced to abandon her work in television production “because of her conjugal situation.”

When asked at that moment about the possibility of a suit against the government, Snyder said “she wasn’t there yet.”

Two weeks later, Productions J announced the end of its television activities. The company’s former vice-president Benoît Clermont, took over the production of programming with his new company, Productions Déferlantes.

I also thought it was photoshop, because it looks really really bad. And since there's been an article on her losing weight (for her wedding?) it's possible she's taken it a step too far, considering the trouble with her company. Weight control (anorexia) is a way to deal with stress. It's like a way to feel that you have at least one way to control your life - choosing not to eat. It's so sad and serious. I've been there.

 

On a happier note... I'm watching the millennium concert on youtube and woah. WE NEED IT ON DVD!! Love her moves, flirting, the VOICE!!

 

And I also miss Andre And Mego! Seeing thein interaction.. It's gonna take time to reach that level of intimacy with the new band members. Doubt it ever happens...

Just my opinion: Taylor Swift is not a very good singer. Her singing voice is really grating to my ears; I can't stand it. Sorry. I don't see a duet there.

Gotta agree a hundred thousand percent there. As a songwriter I do sorta kinda reluctantly have to give it to Taylor, although her songs sound the same/kinda have the same idea. But I'm really not a fan of Taylor's voice and I do not think a duet would work. If we have to pick a female for Celine to sing with, I vote for Sia. She wrote LMBTL after all... As for Julie, I hope she's not anorexic, that's not good at all!

I listened to USF this morning and I di notice how different she sounds outdoors as opposed to at in indoor arena. I forgot to comment on that on my last post. Also, random question: was "i'm Alive" in a movie? I met a man on a bus yesterday and when I mentioned her, he said he knows IA because of a movie. He said his favorite song of Celine is "that gospel song she did with that Italian blind guy." He's also disabled so I'll let him get away with it but LOL Anyway, he says his sister immitates her but not very well, I asked him if she does it cuz she hates or likes Celine he said she is a fan. It's so cool to meet fans.

"I'm Alive" was in the movie "Stuart Little 2." And when the man said gospel, he probably meant religious because it's called "The Prayer." But he was 100% correct about the movie :-)

I can't find any information, and they're most probably just actors, but there's a slight possibility that they could very well be her old classmates, right?

 

Also, does anyone know why she never appeared in the video herself, other than in the class photo?

 

Finally, apparently, there's a second version of the music video which shows footage of Celine in the studio, according to the Wikipedia article - does anyone know where we could watch it and if it really does exist?
