I doubt it. In the first George-Hebert Germain biography, it says of Rene that "He believed a man should never bet on questions of the heart, or on the outcome of events where his friends or loved ones were involved." Despite that, it says that, after holding off for awhile, he did place the bet on Celine winning the Eurovision song contest, where they had set up official betting for the contest. But I doubt he makes bets regarding Celine regularly.

Also I thought that was why she stopped getting in the harness? But maybe that was because of her hair? can't quite remember? Now you're going to make me watch it again :)

It had to do with an operation she had (I am pretty sure it was a hernia)
