Yeah, technically we can have suspicion if we hear the studio version on the show, like in some TV shows... But that's not the case on "Celine"... You don't hear the studio version, it's a live version !!! And Celine is well known for her ability of singing the same the exact same way over and over if she's not ill...

Actually, saying Santa doesn't exists is different of saying Celine lipsynchs. Why? We know Santa doesn't exists cause our parents buy the presents themselves... But, we don't have real evidence that Celine lipsynchs on "Celine", so there's no reason to say that if you don't know it for sure... :wink:

 

Trust me, we know for sure what is lipped and what isn't. And we know for sure Santa doesn't exist (this is such a funny comparison lol)

Another thing I was let down by is that Celine didn't sing Declaration of Love herself :down: When I heard it was on the tracklist, I was ECSTATIC! Then I found out it was an intermission song.... I thought they should have done RDMH or LCMM as intermission instead :(

lol It is a funny comparision, but it woks !! haha... Anyway, what I mean but saying that is that you may believe or "know" that Celine lipsynchs, but some people don't. So, let them believe/know what they want !!! :wink: If it's true Celine lipsynchs, they (we) will find that out sooner or later themselves (ourselves)... Thanks anyway !!! :flowers:

Yes, but some fans need to stop living in denial about it. I, for one, can turn my denial on and off. I must turn my denial on when watching the vegas and tcoml dvds or else i would be so disappointed (sigh....lol)

Without the help of auto-tune, no. Haha. I'm so thankful Celine has never had to be auto-tuned on her albums.

She does do it, and everyone needs to acknowledge it, but we don't have to dwell on it on this forum. On youtube, however, lipsyncing needs to be brought up a lot because there's a lot of stans who believe everything celine sings is always live..that is irrational. I can only get behind it if she does it to save her voice, but that's still a disservice to the fans and in a way it's not. It would be a disservice to us for her not to have a voice.

Well maybe then that makes me a total idiot cuzz it's not to me. I think there are other things she can do to preserve her voice.

However, in a way it is still live to me cuzz it was at one point still her voice just pre-recorded. So I don't get that disappointed.

As pathetic as this sounds, it really is kinda not wanting to be abandoned by her cuzz that's what will happen if/when she loses her voice and leaves us. But I'm sorry, I just don't think about it and during live shows, I like to think it's all live. Only now, during less heated/charged moments when she's just on recorded and I can handle thinking like this that I do.

Thank you. I agree. I have had enough disappointment in my life and Celine is/has been the one constant and happiness. Maybe that also makes me pathetic, psycho and needing help, but I'm not going to let anyone take that away from me.

However, I'm also not here to gang up on anyone or take sides, so forgive me if I've made it sound like that.

The lip-syncing doesn't take away from her 'amazingness', but it doesn't add anything either. Obviously, i know a lot of people get offended by the lip-sycning discussion and they shouldn't. Mariah does it, whitney does it, celine does it, it's just fact. It doesn't mean i like her any less, i just like to be technical and adhere to the facts about a performance. I enjoy watching lipped performances, one of my favorite dvds is TCOML concert. :)

Basically, rather lipped or not, watching a song i like being performed by the artist is enjoyable. Take the vegas dvd, the visuals for the old vegas show were so spectacular that it really distracts you from the fact that a good majority of the songs were lipped. But i don't think about it when watching, say, the captivating visuals of I Surrender.
