Indeed, I see up to 15 (FIFTEEN) different categories submitted for the movie, including best original soundtrack, best sound editing, best sound mixing, BUT best original song indeed

 

If someone still doubts Céline needs so bad to leave Sony Music because simply and precisely there's people working very hard in her own business home for her music to go completely unnoticed everywhere since 2003, this is the ultimate proof All sorts of categories and nominations submitted, but the original song

They dont respect her as an artist, but when they needed her to marketing they asked her...

It’s the movie’s distributor that’s responsible for Oscar submissions. In this case, it’s Fox. The record label has nothing to do with Oscar submissions.

I think that's why it was closed in the CNN interview. But there is nothing to do with clothes, they are decisions that we do not know.

I hope that Celine gives more value to his music next year, that comes with new projects and partnerships and does not eat the same thing that has been done.

I don't think it's a conspiracy against Celine, not by fox or Sony anyway. The Academy? Maybe.

 

I doubt they'd be happy to have the song of a movie like Deadpool win over oscar darling A Star is Born. And "Ashes" is, imo (& other articles by the looks of it), "Shallow" biggest competition.

I’m in awe... I never expected “Ashes” to win because the industry seems to not respect her enough for whatever reason, but HOW do you not nominate a successful song from one of the most success movies of the year for an Oscar?

You might be right.

For example I do not remember if Diane Warren specifically wrote Because you love me for Up close and personal, or convinced Jon Avnet to use her song.

Just a reminder that we are talking about the movie distributor submitting the song for the nomination process (and not the actual nominations). And I'm not sure a manager would have enough power to influence the distributor.

Regardless — Ashes was a wonderful success for Celine’s English career. Her biggest English song in YEARS. That’s something to celebrate.

 

Perhaps she can attend the Oscars anyways. Who knows! Red carpet fashion often get just as much buzz as winners / nominees these days.

 

And I’m still hoping for an epic duet as her first English single off the new album.... Like Celine / Adele performing at the Grammys. 😍
