Honestly guys, I come over to check on things and most of the time there is just whining about "lost opportunities" and "her last chance to whatever".

Yeah, we are Celine fans, but can we just dial down the drama a bit?

Why drama? Some of us see the things in a realistic way! The music industry has nothing to do with the industry 20 years ago, when Celine as at her peak. So now it is almost impossible even to have a top40 hit in the UK/Canada/USA. End of story.

Why drama? Some of us see the things in a realistic way! The music industry has nothing to do with the industry 20 years ago, when Celine as at her peak. So now it is almost impossible even to have a top40 hit in the UK/Canada/USA. End of story.

Why this need for the song to chart and play on the radio and be promoted with TV appearances,... It is a good song, we - the fans - loved it, obviously Celine enjoyed making it. It has a reasonable success. This obsession with "resurrecting" her career is meaningless to me, I am afraid.

 

It is just my opinion, I will be quiet now.

Some of us enjoy seeing how a new single/album charts every week, if it is certified gold/platinum/diamomd, how many copies it sold in the big markets, etc.

Well actually, to be fair: the song is there to promote the movie, not the other way around. Some people have to get this into their head. Yes I’m disappointed there’s no promo on Céline’s/Sony’s side (and the song and movie has potential to sky rocket her career), but in the end, ‘Ashes’ is released for ‘Deadpool 2’ and not for her new album.

That's different from complaining about radio not playing her song. I love chart positions and certifications. It's fun knowledge. I don't need Celine to be a hit maker though. I lived that life with her. She had her time. Something like "Ashes" and the excitement from the attention it's getting is truly a lovely bonus as a fan.

Such as: “I love you Celine!”, “Celine you’re the best” “Love the song Ashes, wish i could go to Vegas” etc etc

Maybe we should open a thread called "Drama and Complaints" so the negative comments and the Vegas bashing can be dumped in there to keep the other threads drama free.

Just got home from seeing “Deadpool 2.” I was happy to see “Ashes” get first billing in the soundtracks section of the credits.

Spotify Update: 5,320,752 plays so far. Yesterday, it was at 4,800,000 something, which means she was streamed 400,000 - 500,000 times yesterday. That's the most the song's been streamed in one day, if I'm remembering correctly!

 

Spotify Update: 5,820,684 plays. Which means it was streamed just under 500,000 times yesterday, which is now the largest stream count in a day for it! It's rising!

The song is only around 30k streams away from entering the Global Top 200 chart on Spotify. Would be huge if it actually charted, considering Spotify is heavily reliant on playlists and Ashes is on 0 major playlists.
