Some are so intimate and small, and the others are huge stadiums, bizarre

They're all relatively the same size (arenas) besides Tokyo, Singapore and Jakarta. Some of the pictures make them look a lot bigger/smaller haha. Edited by brendanm999

I'm not sure about 2008, but for the two shows in 2014 I believe I read that she did! (correct me if I'm wrong) Edited by brendanm999

Yeah! it was sold out back in 2014

"Celine's concerts in Tokyo and Osaka sold out immediately after tickets went on sale."

Seeing how “intimate” some of these venues are, there is no excuse why “Falling Into You” can’t be included. I’m just using her own words.

Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Posted

i wonder though how they are gonna setup the end-stage in such small venues. Would be better to do a round stage in those places

My guess is that it's going to be similar to the concert she held in Monaco on July 12th, 2008. The Sporting Club is another small intimate venue. Here's a couple of clips from the show:

Hahaha, comparing to all this even Vegas is "intimate"

How "intimate" does it needs to be will she ever sing that song again? :)

But I think the tickets price for that show were very expensive, (Monaco, selected invited people...), and for this kind of concerts I am pretty sure that Celine receives a worthy money deal (Like the 5 million USD deal to perform in Brunei in February 1997);

Maybe she doesn’t want to sing it? You never know, she may surprise you one day! Just don’t hold your breath 🤣

"Intimate" is when I'm alone with her and she sings it just for me. :-D

source??

They said there would be no 2nd show. They said it wasnt to do with ticket sales, it was simply that Celine wanted time off during shows and that she thought one was was enough ......

I bet that initially Celine and her team has planed 2 shows for Tokyo but drop the 2nd show because of lower demand in compared with the time back to 2014.

Just take Taipei for example, the team ask for 3shows ,but at the first setout they set 2 shows to test the water.

Similar situation happend in other cties, too.

In 2008 UK was sold out.

It's sold out in appearance, but the team did not add extra shows due to low demand

I think I would really like this setting. I wonder if she felt different. You know, it had to feel different. (I would think) :)

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

It feels different. It feels like a VIP concert and the crowd is a bit quiet than in Arena's

hum..back in 2008, there was only 1 or 2 shows planned in the UK. All the others were added right after sales began due to high demand...

But still... if we have to debate about 1 show sold out and nothing added afterwards it's completely insane.

Do you know anything about boxscores?

There are plenty of artists who don't sell out. It's not because a show it's not sold out that it's unsuccessfull... current big artists such as Drake or The Weeknd don't sell everything out.

But the real "issue" here is that Céline has the highest ticket prices on the market. That's what not normal.

There's nothing to brag about (sold out shows, high boxscores etc...) with these shows when u know how much they charge.

I'm still shocked at how many people are ready to pay for a show ticket. That's outrageous but now we also have to read people "whining" about alleged "low demand" or no extra date.

Instead of having sympathy for those who can't go because too expensive, let's do it for TC who won't make another millions... oh poor them! they couldn't find another 50.000 japonese people to spend a pair of hundred $ to see Céline lipsyncing "to love you more "...

This venue in Singapore is alot larger than Monaco. Im pretty sure this venue holds around 6,000 when in concert setting (according to Marina Bay Sands website) the image shown here was the banquet set up. The REAL image is on their website. Its a large stage with 4 screens and the crowd is very long in width but not long in length

Here we are....A picture is worth a thousand words :)

But it doesn´t change that it is a rather small room in relation to the other venues

Why did they picked the smaller venue in Singapore? I mean, there are bigger venues in Singapore. Selena Gomez did a show there at Singapore Indoor Stadium

89% sold after 20 days means that Bangkok hasn't sold well???

Just because it fails to be sold out immediately doesn't mean it's sold badly.

please bear in mind that Bangkok and Jakarta ticket prices are much higher than Tokyo, Teipei, NZ, Aus as well as 2016, 2017 tours in EU.

And the most stagnated static show staying the same for decades too. There's barely any difference between watching Live in Memphis, the FIY tour, the LTAL tour or London 2017, opening and closing sequence of songs and everything in between :giggle:

(and yes, keeping the stage also the same with a minimalistic style doesn't help either :innocent: )

And yet still they watch 😀 me included 👍 it’s about Celine and her voice. Couldn’t give a flying fig about theatrics, dancers, moving stages etc. As long as the sound system is great, and I can see the stage/decent screens then everything is cushty. 😁

Some people (the same people I should say :giggle:) complain about the show being the same (which isn't true) yet they buy a concert ticket!

It's a funny world after all... :-D

89% in 20 days is bad for almost any artist. Celine has sold 99% in Manila in like 5 days shorter. Places like Australia sold out instantly and even though some didnt, they are still above 90% after only a few days

Taipei was actually higher than bangkok

89% isn't bad at all lol... even if the show was tomorrow 89% is considered a "sold out show". ( I think more than 85% is considered sold out, correct me if I'm wrong on the percentage ).

The show is actually in about 4 months, so it'll sell more. Even if it doesn't completely sell out its considered a successful show

Quite a few things wrong with your statement.

1. Live in Memphis WAS the FIY tour so thats a bit silly

2. LTAL tour had lots of new stuff and had a ground breaking stage and choreo for the time. It was awarded best concert stage design of 1998.

3. Why would she do a central stage, she doesnt need to and almost NO ONE does. Even if she did you would still complain as nothing ever seems to be good enough for you

4. London 2017 was full of new stuff. Especially the first 2 shows but I know you will only include the July dates to fit an agenda. She did songs like The Reason,The Colour Of My Love,Love Is all We Need,Refuse To Dance,Think Twice etc which were all rare or even never performed live.

5. I notice how you didnt talk about Copenhagen or Bordeaux, both also very new and cool. Full of old and newer songs.

But sold out means 100%, not 85%. To state otherwise is unfortunately incorrect.

For Celine only 89% in 20 days is bad. Someone of her calibur and someone of her usual rates of selling. Especially giving that its her first concert there ever.

In show-business terms saying a show is sold out doesn't always mean 100% sold out. Also you don't really have to worry, Celine is doing great. There's many months until the start of the tour. She'll sell just fine
