I'd say she's bored to death of it, she's clearly sick of performing a good bunch of songs (as she has admited this several times), but she conceals it very well, she's a very good actress too

 

It's the same situation as when she's asked about the new album and she deliberatedly deviates the conversation (LOL), or when she's asked about the songs she's going to sing and she enters in a loop talking about other things and René and this and that and whatnot and in the end she hasn't revealed anything nor answered the question

 

But "the best is yet to come". Always

 

Guys she's an artist, she's at the mercy of her public and her image and what she says is calculated to the milimeter. And we know that particularly when she was with René and at the start of her career. The information Céline could provide in an interview -regarding her career and her thoughts- is more valuable for what she hides than for what she openly says, that's something I came to realize many years ago.

 

Of course she's not going to roll her eyes before the microphone every time the flute on MHWGO starts to play (not that she wouldn't like, as she has admitted!)

 

Remember when Kate Winslet let that spicy tongue of hers let loose and confessed she wants to puke everytime someone plays the Titanic song when she enters a bar or a restaurant in public?? And Céline politely replied "well, if it makes her feel like throwing up, imagine if she had to sing it every night!". Well guys, that was only a very polite way to say she's sick to death of the damn song, but in another more well-mannered way

Think about how we can get bored with those beautiful songs because she sing it over and over again, now imagine when we read the same complain from the same person over and over again. How sick it could be ? I prefer those repeated songs than repeated complaints.

Yes, I have to say that I'm pretty disgusted by some of the comments on this forum over the past week. Thinking about joining the Red Heads, since at least their extremes are positive, vs. the vitriol spewed on this board.

 

Despite the fact that she's doing full versions of "I'm Alive" and "That's The Way It Is" (both not in Vegas), "Falling Into You" (not in Vegas), "To Love You More" (not in Vegas), "Think Twice" (cut from Vegas), "The Reason" (not performed in Vegas since 2013), "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" (not in Vegas), "The Power of Love" & "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" (new arrangements for the tour), and the violin acoustic medley (not in Vegas), so many of you are b*tching and moaning calling it "Vegas on Wheels." Far from it. And then when she DOES change it up, it's "Why is she doing a violin cover of 'Unison'?"

 

If all you're going to do is come on the board and cry "VEGAS IS RUINING HER CAREER" and "I HATE LOVE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS," I think some of you need to just sit in a dark room and listen to "Then You Look at Me" on repeat on your Sony Walkman and mourn the career that you WANT her to have vs. the career that SHE seems pretty happy with. It's exhausting to come on some of these threads, hoping to find updated news, videos, and pictures from the tour and have to wade through posts of "Her voice is terrible," "I hate what Pepe styles her in," "I hate the Falling Into You dance," etc. etc. etc.

she has something new, Ashes, the medley is new , At seventeen is too out of the left field to be appreciated, but it is new arrangements. I have no issues with the set list other than the covers. However how can a song be expected to become a “classic” when it’s dropped after one tour or never performed? How Does A Momenf Last Forever? Gone! Will we ever hear it again? With this be the only tour that ever gets Ashes? Loved Me Back To Life? Mini tour 2013 then a handful of shows last year. Gone! Songs surely have to get the chance to grow and be loved be an audience. I get the “hits” are played as they were successful on the charts but there’s songs in Celine’s set that have never been released as singles (RDMH) that stay in the show because they’ve been given a chance over years and the audience now love them and expect them. The songs I’ve used above are just examples but hopefully I’ve made some sense lol.

Well I was thinking that. The Tokyo show will need to fit the time slot for the TV broadcast and 21 songs is short for a tour ESPECIALLY for Celine. It wouldnt surprise me if we saw an extra song or two

I really missed “The Show Must Go On” during the last run of the Vegas shows. Wish she would’ve kept it as I think it’s a much stronger ending for the show than IDAN.

Find it weird that when we have this opinion people here can react sooo strongly. Saying that she works hard, maybe we don't need to watch it, we must be happy she is onstage etc etc.

 

But it's not that we made all this up.

 

It's Celine herself saying she wants to do unknown songs, or that she loves an album sooo much (d'elles) and is said that it didn't had a "life", or that she loves this or that song on a album she recorded but never performed, that she has like 75 books with songs they want her to choose a few for a medley (told in vegas)

 

Those are the moments I think when she or they come up with these setlists, they lack creativity, or the guts to do something different.

 

I will still love her voice, I will still see her perform.

But I really don't get it why people won't acknowledge that these things come from her mouth, and instead of doing different, it's the same for years.

And if we (the ones who dare to speak their mind) say something about it. We are the ones who don't love her enough or where Celine can't do any good.

 

She has spoken positively about many songs she was given (because she doesn’t bother to write her own material). Yet, she then never does anything with them. Why? Because doing the status quo is easier and brings in the most money with the least amount of effort. (She wants to be more family oriented. That’s great, but it comes at a cost elsewhere in her life.)

 

Celine will always be my favorite vocalist. She has a major talent with what she can do with her instrument. That is undeniable. I just wish she’d put her money where her mouth is more often and say, “Screw the hits, I’m doing the songs I want to do.” The 2016 French tour was pretty damn close to this. Her career wasn’t destroyed by it. After all, she’s Celine Dion, not little miss Mary Smith trying out on “The Voice.” The people will come and still enjoy themselves. That is the darn truth, and everyone on this forum knows it.

I actually haven't seen anything from this new tour yet. I've seen Celine's tweets, but that's it. What's everybody's impression so far?

I agree with you! But I absolutely don’t agree with people that want her to take a long break or retire. That’s highly exaggerated and not necessary. Her voice was about 80% there, but still needs some vocal rest. She seemed to only struggle with Ashes and the end of The Reason.

She was way better than those few LV shows, post-surgery.

 

There was a lot of playback, but I don't mind that anymore. But I think every 10 years they need to record new playback.

 

I wish that there was more production.

She is too big of a star to have such plain/ basic production.

At the very least, she needed a good opening video, before TPOL

The orchestra was on top form though.

 

The set list was not as good as last years tour, but it was not terrible. The medley should be longer.

 

My only BIG issue, are the outfits. They are all UGLY. They seem to be getting worse each year.

The stage outfits were best during Annie Horths era.

 

They’re not aimed at the US market! Those outfits are aimed at the Asian market remember that!!
