I don't believe she has to sign off on them. Sony owns enough rights to her songs to be able to put compilations together and release them at their own will.

Of course she's clueless....even her management might be, this is Sony's doing, nothing to do with her team.

I'm not so sure about that For example, back in 1999 she knew that she was expected to release a French greatest hits with 3 new songs, which didn't happen until 2005. I think she is aware of how many albums she has to release by her contract with Sony Music.

I believe it's different for greatest hits sets, which most of the time will count toward the number of albums an artist needs to release to fulfill their contract. Random compilations, I think are at the will of the label for release. For albums like "ATW," "ONCP," "ML," they were touted as major or semi major releases, with single releases, promotion, and Celine making various appearances in support of these specific projects. This compilation, I don't think fits in that same category.

Great news! I always wished to have more original instrumentals of Celine songs. CD3 alone is worth buying!

But CD1 and 2 are pointless.

With 3 discs it wouldn't make sense that all would be karaoke or all instrumentals etc. Maybe one disc of each.

 

And to say it's too fast to release a live cd....yall are forgetting a tiny detail that we have not had a release at all since the new management and in other singers careers this speed is not considered fast at all. Only Celine waits a year and a half to release forgotten about tours (tcwt)...to think the new management could be on a regular speed is not a crazy thought.

What I find extremely annoying with this particular release (apart from the fact that it is completely useless) is the use of the meaningful lyrics of Jean-Jacques Goldman in its title. There are many titles they could have used, ''Celine Dion Compilation #137'' for instance!

 

Just do not touch the masterpieces to promote commercialized bullshit! Anyone from Sony reading this? Ugh!

It’s a letdown because it looked like a live release instead of the 100th compilation.
