Album cover revealed, meh.

 

Great to have a full colour cover and the return of the classic logo for the very first time since 2002, but they could have gone more creative for sure

 

 

Very meh...this looks like someone colored the black and white pic, and it very much looks like that is the case, because the glow around the edges and the somewhat fake colors, on that plain darkblue background.

About the logo , the font of DION looked different in the earlier logo. This one looks ..different.

I still would like to know who makes these uncreative covers. She is a worldartist.. doesn't show on these kind of covers unfortunately

I am pretty sure that it is NOT a live album, for 3 reasons :

 

1) It is way too early

2) The cover is not a picture of the show !

3) There is no mention of "Live" on the picture/title

It's the same as the tour so it's a tour cd I guess.

I share your hopes, but... Remember that development, release and logistics of such album (even if it is only CD audio, but with 3 discs) consuming a lot of time. This tour had a beginning on June 15, what gives us 36 days, and this is not much time to do it...

I am pretty sure that it is NOT a live album, for 3 reasons :

2) The cover is not a picture of the show !

3) There is no mention of "Live" on the picture/title

In that case I really don't get her management. Who cares about another compilation we could have easily made ourselves

But still about dics 3, some songs are the same as on disc 1 & 2 and I'm not sure if all 15 have official remixes, neither that they all have official (live) videoclips. That's still something.

In this age of Spotify, if this is a release with studio recordings, it would be extremely pointless.

It would've been much cheaper to just create a Spotify playlist with the tour songs............

Amazing photo choice for the album cover though! You can tell I am a fan of it.

I think this photo dates back to the LMBTL era? Anyway, it is recycled. And the album cover gives me the impression that they are rushing things with this release. I stand by what I previously said that we are looking at a compilation album. For all the reasons some members brought up I doubt that's a live CD.

 

Cannot say I am excited about this particular release, unless it is officially announced this is a live CD from the tour.

Of course WE could easily make it ourselves, but what about the non-fans ?... Those who buy tickets for the shows but who haven't bought the latest albums from Céline yet ? I think it is for them...

But there are some songs that are not thát familiar to non-fans, expecially since for example THLAL was only performanced in 1999 and once this year so still kinda weird

There is even a company called LiveHereNow which can record an artist's concert, and have the digital version available for concertgoers (or anyone else who wants to buy it from the liveherenow.com site) to download within 24 hours of the show, fully mixed from the soundboard.

 

Anastacia just did this with two of her concerts on her "Ultimate Collection Tour" - Manchester and London. I ordered both and got the downloads a day or two after each show, and the physical editions (with full cover art in a tri-fold digipack) about two weeks later.

 

So, there's no reason why a major label like Sony can't pull a live CD together by July 21, especially when there's no DVD, and no new photoshoot necessary.

 

Don't lose hope!

You may be right and I do not lose hope And (as for now) it seems that on the day of release this album will only be available in France. If so, it greatly simplifies many things, such as logistics.

Edit: someone on the RH news of this release commented that it would be a live release of 3 disc set, 2 CD live + a third disc of instrumentals way before Amazon updated the tracklist and gave us the official tracklist and he was right, so I'm still holding for a live release.

Come on guys, who else releases a double album with all studio recordings of a live tour and in the exact same order as the live versions she is performing on tour? That's the most twisted perverse marketing idea that a record label can have!!! I can't even imagine Céline's team going that low with fans

 

They can perfectly edit and release an album of a live show within a week today! They did it with the 2012 London Olympics and many singers do that, at least digitally!

 

And about the title: why they don't indicate it's a live release? Simple! Because this tour has no title at all! Do you want them to title it on the cover "Live 2017"??? That would be so generic and at the same time so limiting with time, to indicate the year of the release on the cover! That's why I think they come up with the idea of "un peu de nous", which is the lyric of her most recent French hit, Encore un soir! It's a good move in that sense, actually. But nobody in their minds would have titled a live release just "Celine Dion: Live 2017", that would have been pretty lazy from a commercial point of view.

 

Did they title the 2013 live album "Live 2013"??? Nope, they called it "Une seule fois". Because naming live albums stating the obvious live thing and the year where they're made is so pathetic lol. There are "live in London", "Live in the Royal Albert Hall" (name of the venue if it's very popular) or "live à Paris", "Live à l'Olympia" etc, but "live" + the year when it's made it's so very simple and lazy.

Of course I'm hoping the same but there are quite some things that point to the opposite possibility. And my image of Team Céline is not the best tbh

I hope that this is the live performances! I think it will be considering the time frame but I'm not sure yet. I love the cover dress a lot a lot but I wish they would use another photo of her in the dress. There was ones of her standing up with a fan I thought? They surely have many from the last photoshoot for EUS too... I just think it was rushed so they pulled together something quick.

I guess they could’ve done what they did with “Une seule fois / Live 2013” and titled it “Un peu de nous / Live 2017,” OR like TCWT “Un peu de nous - Le spectacle.”

Probably her worst live release ever. It’s almost unlistenable at parts (BYLM - yikes!). I remember when the 30 sec clips were released, fans went nuts begging Sony not to release it. Her voice was in such bad shape.

 

Although it does have one of my favorite studio tracks at the end - “Ain’t Gonna Look The Other Way”!
