stone Posted October 24, 2020 at 04:36 AM Posted October 24, 2020 at 04:36 AM I loved her androgynous look in 1995.Very Annie Lennox.During this time she shifted from pop singer to icon.1995 was THE year for Celine Dion in my opinion. In addition to D'eux, she and Rene laid the groundwork to dominate the late 90s. We all contain multitudes and we should be allowed to express the different parts of ourselves. Celine has certainly done that over the years. She's been through many transformations. THIS. Whenever she cuts her hair, as a fan, I'm like "Oh God no, whyyyyyyy". But deep down, "You are awesome for giving zero F's. You go on with your bad self!" 1 Quote
PuraVida Posted October 24, 2020 at 06:11 AM Posted October 24, 2020 at 06:11 AM THIS. Whenever she cuts her hair, as a fan, I'm like "Oh God no, whyyyyyyy". But deep down, "You are awesome for giving zero F's. You go on with your bad self!" Yes, haircuts always a power move. Were a lot of women (in music, particularly) going androgynous in the 90s? Annie Lennox of course pioneered it as far as I know in music for female singers in the 80s. Of course, for Celine it was a briefer period and a lot of it in Europe but still notable! Maybe she was a trendsetter in this regard as well. 1 Quote

Oprah Winfrey “Celine has such a beautiful, mesmerizing voice. She is so talented, I would love to work with her. I think we could create something that is a classic like she already is.”Timbaland “I am an absolute, wouldn’t be embarrassed, chase-down-the-bus fan. Her voice is, like, not human. She’s so unique, you know her voice from a million miles away – from the first second you hear it. I think a gift from God like that is the coolest thing in the world.”R. Kelly "I appreciated Celine from the moment she walked in. Here's this huge persona, and she comes in like she was a secretary, an everyday normal, humble person, She introduces herself with no ego. I loved that. She's a wonderful woman. I admire and respect her!"Linda Perry "I first met Celine Dion at the premiere of Sleepless in Seattle. We were at a fancy Hollywood ballroom, with tables full of famous folk and expensive champagne. She introduced herself, this young beautiful woman, with a nod and a smile. She spoke very little English, and my French is...well...isn't. Then she sang, and I was blown away. I have heard her sing live many times since then. Each time she amazes. It is her heart, however, that is truly her greatest gift. More pure than her pitch, more tender than her tone. She is one of a kind."Rosie O'Donnell "Celine is the best singer in the world. Nobody can out-sing her. She was on Divas once with Aretha Franklin and a whole bunch of other girls. She blew them all away. I was amazed. One time we were both at NBC and she did “Believe” for me. She did all the electronic effects with her voice! I would never sing on the same stage with her at the same time! The other girls have got great style, but as far as pipes go…" Cher Edited October 26, 2020 at 07:43 AM by PuraVida 4 Quote

PuraVida Posted November 1, 2020 at 02:34 PM Posted November 1, 2020 at 02:34 PM (edited) She's bipolar...I truly believe Mariah admires Celine but that's Divas Concert traumatised her. Probably because Celine was undeniably the Voice of the night! Or she likes Celine being "festive", to use one of Mariah's favorite words. That may be one of the only times Mariah has liked a post from Celine. Edit: Also, she maybe only liked it because Celine looks intentionally ugly in the post LOL Edited November 1, 2020 at 02:36 PM by PuraVida 3 Quote

scielle Posted November 1, 2020 at 02:45 PM Posted November 1, 2020 at 02:45 PM Why are some people so obsessed with what Mariah and her fans think of Celine? I don't understand the fixation, nor the seeming need of some on here to continually denigrate Mariah fans. It's so tiresome. 2 Quote
