Miley mentioning Celine on Instagram. Were they actually hanging out?!

Well if Celine was in LA for shooting her movie! Miley is a fan we know she at least watched Tell Him—-and I think she was there for 2017 MHWGO performance

Well, we know what Céline thinks of Miley:

“Anna Montana got tired to be Anna Montana” :-D

It s because she s french speaker. The 'H' is mute in french. That s why we hear 'Annah', wich is so funny for me :)

Does anybody know where I can find the video of Adele saying Celine was kind of like her guilty pleasure? And then the interviewer gives her a framed poster of Celine's Taking Chances photo. Edited by marc-02

And some stupid people in her team claim that nobody wants or needs DVDs these days...

Regarding Miley, Celine defends her transformation by saying...

"I am fed up with the life that I had to be... I'm going to show you my real skin."

Celine did some of that herself from 2016 onward with her fashion, shedding old skin, ballet, and a lot less revealing interviews.

she definitely became less private, vitually silent on her private life or her family and kids, whereas this used to be the main topic of discussion in the past (#open book). I never thought I'm gonna miss her talking about her kids LOL :D Edited by ryba

Nice! Thanks!

They got almost all of the major ones, that is great. The only musicians they left out that I can think of are Donna Summer, Jennifer Hudson, Grace Slick, Leona Lewis. They also missed David Foster, Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell.

But amazing video!

Katie Couric seems like one of Celine's biggest supporters these days...

At least on social media.

She likes a lot of what Celine posts.

I think she really bonded with Celine when Celine and Rene appeared on her show in 2013.

Katie knows firsthand what it's like to lose the love of your life.

Danny Pellegrino also likes a lot of her stuff.

We should all hope that Danny does an episode dedicated to Celine on his Everything Iconic podcast!

He loves Mariah and did an episode dedicated to her... and I can totally see him doing the same for Celine.

What do y'all think... How relevant is Celine Dion these days?

In my head... she will always be relevant. She's sold more records than pretty much all other female artists (other than Madonna), she pioneered in Vegas, she's still a top touring artist, she's an international artist, etc.

But then when I step out into the world and talk to other people who love female artists like Lady Gaga, Beyonce, etc. -- they almost respond to my love for Celine like, "Oh, how cute that you still love her." And it reminds me that, in their minds, Celine is very far down on the totem pole because she hasn't been "hot" in music for a long time. And they don't really know / keep up with her overall accomplishments.

To my friends who are casual Celine fans... Celine is someone who they turn to when they're feeling nostalgic. And they would definitely go to a concert if Celine came their city, or maybe even in Vegas, but they don't check out any of her new music. And Celine probably wouldn't be their top choice for a Vegas concert. They also don't keep up with anything she's doing unless it's something massive like Ashes or the announcement of a new residency or tour.

Even my fellow friends in their 30s who used to LOVE Celine, seem to revere Gaga or Beyonce or even Dua Lipa more these days. Everyone's entitled to love who they love artist wise, but I used to think it was understood / widely known that Celine Dion is one of the most accomplished, greatest selling, most talented singers of all time.

And it just kind of feels like the blush has fallen off the rose a bit as far casual fans are concerned. But, if a lot of these people actually attended a Celine concert... they'd pee in their pants.

I just am curious what the HONEST current climate is regarding Celine Dion. Sometimes I feel like I live in a different galaxy / Lala land.

I guess this is just how it goes... it's similar for Madonna and Mariah. And even if Whitney were still alive and had maintained her voice, her popularity also would have declined.

These people are now considered old-school artists.

... I meant to put the above post in the random or common questions about Celine thread. And now it's too late to edit. Oops! But I'm still curious about y'alls thoughts.

Well, she is incredibly popular online, so obviously people are watching her stuff. I am surprised by how many fans in the comments of her recent uploads are--independent of us and the forum--really demanding that her team release concerts and DVDs.

So, I think she is very well-known and loved as a person and personality and very much still relevant. But people have not been keeping up with her new music, but that's what they do for all older stars. It's a generational thing as always.

That said, you can still break boundaries at her age and get popular songs. I think Courage had an impact, but the potential impact on music and culture and her image it could have made could have been so much bigger if they handled it differently and/or released it much earlier at the height of Celinaissance.

When stars get into the Legend status, the general public won't really seek their new music like hardcore fans would. They know Celine is a great singer but they are happy listening to the old hits and/or going to her concerts (and that's why she has no choice but sing all her big hits). It's a good problem to have I guess.

But for legends to get more attention to their new music is to get their music in a movie or TV show. It's pretty much the only way to get some attention from the younger generations. And hopefully Text For You (which is a great move to say the least!) will do just that for Celine! Fingers crossed.
