Lidia Isac who represented Moldova last year just auditioned for The Voice in France singing Ordinaire (Celine's version). She nailed it and this time, she made it through!!! 😍

So now that we have all the songs/videos ... we should be able to make our Top and decide what we like and what we don't like ...

This is going to be fun! :w00t: :giggle:

So Julia has been banned from Ukraine and can't represent Russia at the ESC now

WTF??? That's not the ESC spirit Ukraine

Russia intentionally sent a blacklisted artist so I'm not really surprised that happened. I'm only sorry for that girl, she seems absolutely adorable even though her song was a big mess.

At least Russia's not calling the shots any more. B)

It appears that Russia is out of the competition completely, for them it was either Julia or nobody else.

I thought all of Russia is blacklisted??? :hmm:

No, the ban concerned any artist who had performed in Crimea since the time it was taken over by Russia.

Ok good ... so Russia is just playing games here and we are spectators in an ongoing battle between these two :hmm:

That's exactly the case here. :)

Ukraine made it very clear that's the law to abide by. It's not like this ban was introduced specifically for Eurovision, it stood for quite some time. :)

I know what you mean. As I said, the only one I feel for is Julia.

Yes, exactly ...

I wonder how people will be voting though with all this mess around ...

So ... Julia's "Flame" has been "killed" ... but she will represent Russia at ESC 2018 now :hmm:

We knew there would be some problem if Ukraine won. There would be some tension between Russia and Ukraine.

In my opinion a country that is in serious dispute with another country (War?!?) in the Eurovision, should not be eligible to host the Eurovision if they win.

Eurovision is a song contest the should represent love and unity.

This isn't the first time a country in dispute with another country has hosted the Eurovision. Azerbaijan did the same and they are in dispute with Armenia.

And by dispute, I mean when they are using the army against each other. And I'm not taking any sides :)

So how is your Top 10 coming along?

Mine is pretty much stuck on Top 20 now ... I can't seem to decide :hmm:

I can't decide. Someone created a playlist on Spotify so I will hopefully create my top 10 list soon.

My workplace usually have this huge bet around Eurovision and I've never won it and actually not even been close to winning. I was in 4th place last year.

So I kinda guess my list will be different from yours lol.

I'm not feeling the Italian song though and it's supposed to be the most popular one ..

To be honest, last year it was so much easier to pick favourites, my clear winners were Armenia, the Czech Republic and Malta. This year it's the opposite situation. :)

I like that list, that Iceland is on it. I want us to make it to the final.

But I don't want Iceland to win, like ever!!

For me, winning is getting the 2nd place. The first place is just way to expensive for us as a nation

So for me and actually Iceland as a whole, getting into the finals means a LOT of partying B)

The streets are empty in Iceland on Eurovision night literally! we love Eurovision.
