A people's choice poll was done on a Facebook ESC Group and here are the results:

1: Italy with 310 points

2: France with 268 points

3: Belgium with 238 points

4: Macedonia with 172 points

5: Portugal with 120 points

6: Israel with 104 points

7: Sweden with 100 points

8: Switzerland with 92 points

9: The Netherlands with 80 points

10: Poland with 72 points

What do you think? can it really happen like this?

Not sure about the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland though, these might not manage to get inside top 10.

However, top 5 above seems very probable. :)

I do sometimes think Poland might actually struggle to get into the final, it's like a bloodbath in the first semi, there we've got several sure qualifiers (Sweden, Greece, Azerbaijan, Armenia) and some very popular songs (Belgium, Portugal). :hmm: Edited by Jeff Abbott

Oh yes, it will be very tough ... and if she makes it to the final, she should be very proud to have conquered that semi ...

the second semi is much easier, especially now that Russia'a out. :)

Plus, Australia is also in the first semi so you know what that means.

The naked Ape will be in Kyiv!

Italy's Francesco Gabbani is one of the most talked-about acts of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. The two-time San Remo winner will perform 'Occidentali's Karma' in Kyiv.

Hailing from Carrara in Tuscany, where his parents ran the town’s only instrument shop, Francesco Gabbani grew up with music. He began to pursue a solo career in 2010 when he left his first band, Trikobalto. Following this he gave up performing to concentrate on composing when, in 2015, his publisher BMG persuaded him to enter a song for the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Festival. His song Amen won and subsequently went Platinum in Italy.

Sanremo has taken place in the city of the same name since 1951 and was the inspiration behind the Eurovision Song Contest. The format has launched the careers of some of Italy's most successful singers including Andrea Bocelli and Eros Ramazzotti.

In 2017, Francesco won the main section of Sanremo with Occidentali’s Karma, becoming the first artist ever to win in different categories of the Festival in consecutive years. Occidentali’s Karma went Gold within a week and double Platinum in a month. In his performance Francesco dances with an ape, which is not only a unique selling point but also tells the story of the song.

Francesco is looking forward to his time in Kyiv. "What makes me feel the proudest is to represent my own country in front of every European. I fully believe in "Made in Italy" quality and I'll do my best to be a valuable ambassador for my country."

Ok my top 20/21 list is ready and it's very different from the what the bets say will win lol.

It might change a lot before Eurovision starts.

It's not in any order, just the top 20/21. I can't decide if Norway or Iceland should be in the top 20.

Switzerland

Bulgaira

Australia

Poland

Belarus

Sweden

Israel

Serbia

Netherlands

Latvia

UK

France

Azerbaijan

Montenegro

San Marino

Greece

Ukraine

Estonia

Albania

Norway/Iceland.

I do like Portugal but I didn't put it on my list because I thought it wouldn't go far. But then I saw the bets and it's on top 5 :wtf:

Also I don't like the Italian song but it will probably win :hmm:

I won't win any bets this year that's for sure

The more I listen to the songs, the more I like them. I have list of 30 songs that I like.

I can't wait for the rehearsals to begin, I guess my list will change a lot then.

The same for me here, I'd also say there're about 30 songs worth listening to. :)

Some of the rehearsals footage has already leaked.

It's because of his voice, apparently it's impressive. :)

Italy is the only country who brought something new this year, there are other countries with not bad songs, but most of them is more about the same...;

besides ESC is a live show, the songs have to be composed to work well live,

and i think Italy did the best, they chose an entertainer, not a singer :P

a performer doesn't has to have a big voice, but has to be able to interact with a live audience.

The song is popular too ... that helps too!
