Jeff Abbott Posted May 4, 2017 at 03:54 PM Posted May 4, 2017 at 03:54 PM I know I'm not the most objective person to judge this performance, but take a look at this one. WOW Quote
ErwinG Posted May 5, 2017 at 06:26 PM Author Posted May 5, 2017 at 06:26 PM Gotta check which video it is at home ... it's blocked now for me at work! UK and Italy just had their first rehearsal and people are going crazy!!! Quote
angelil78 Posted May 5, 2017 at 07:28 PM Posted May 5, 2017 at 07:28 PM I'm really really really really really trying to like the Italian song, really really really trying but I can't I mean I think its' ok but that's about it. I still haven't watched all of the rehearsals, maybe Italy will change my mind then I'm redoing my top 20 list now. I decided to not look at any bets or let anything influence my list. It's just songs that I like and not songs that I think will get far. Just what I like. My sister is then doing her list and we will have a viewing party on Tuesday, Thursday and then Saturday 2 Quote

My sister is then doing her list and we will have a viewing party on Tuesday, Thursday and then Saturday I did not like the Italian song either ... did not think it could win Sanremo ... but I am happy it did ... and looking forward to the show at ESC ... I will be watching Tuesday and Thursday at home; then Saturday will be in San Juan, Puerto Rico, so hopefully I will be able to watch online, but I do have a concert to go that night, so I might miss the final part and get to know who won until I am back at the hotel (mostly around 1AM) I'm impressed with the UK staging, it looks super cool, top 10 maybe. Yes, looks awesome!!! 1 Quote

Jeff Abbott Posted May 6, 2017 at 09:00 PM Posted May 6, 2017 at 09:00 PM (edited) I don't know whether you'll agree but ... ... Italy has it in the bag already, the only country that could screw them up is either Portugal or Bulgaria ... vocals from Israel, Macedonia, Belgium and Serbia are really disappointing ... the guy from Montenegro at this point became a total joke entry with his ponytail and amateur dance routines ... the UK will surprise everybody with a good result ... the guy from Sweden is so stiff and wooden ... Alma should've kept her song entirely in French ... Armenia will be top 5 at least, more like top 3 ... semi final 1 will be a bloodbath ... Spain and Germany are likely to end up last once again ... listening to Lithuanian "song" actually hurts That's all, for now. Edited May 6, 2017 at 09:24 PM by Jeff Abbott 1 Quote
ErwinG Posted May 6, 2017 at 09:29 PM Author Posted May 6, 2017 at 09:29 PM I don't know whether you'll agree but ... ... Italy has it in the bag already, the only country that could screw them up is either Portugal or Bulgaria (I do not want to jinx this) ... vocals from Israel, Macedonia, Belgium and Serbia are really disappointing (Yup - especially Belgium in rehearsals so far, we'll have to see if she manages during the final) ... the guy from Montenegro at this point became a total joke entry with his ponytail and amateur dance routines (yes, and he is enjoying it) ... the UK will surprise everybody with a good result (let's hope so, she deserves it) ... Armenia will be top 5 at least, more like top 3 (Hmmm ) ... semi final 1 will be a bloodbath (It definitely is - it will all come down to the votes) ... Spain and Germany are likely to end up last once again (I like both songs, so I don't want to see that happen) ... listening to Lithuanian "song" actually hurts (LOL - has not been a favorite neither) That's all, for now. Not so sure about Portugal though ... I can't and for the love of Portugal find what is so "attractive" about the song to so many people ... I like the song, but for me, that's not a winning ESC song ... but who knows, worst songs have won before ... The Netherlands will easily qualify to the final, these sisters sound great together, it's like they're perfectly synchronized. They better be in the final ... and yes, they sound perfectly synchronized ... 1 Quote

ErwinG Posted May 7, 2017 at 01:31 PM Author Posted May 7, 2017 at 01:31 PM So I watched the OG3NE special ... and I must say that it was fun to see how they prepared once chosen, to follow them when they chose the song, the video making and presentation and the story behind the song ... so inspiring! (which of course I did not know, because I did not read all their info on the ESC page) Quote

angelil78 Posted May 8, 2017 at 11:42 AM Posted May 8, 2017 at 11:42 AM ugh it's so difficult to make a list. I think my favorite countries are Poland and France. I think so many of the countries have good songs this year (Or I've listened to them too much). So weird that the official cd is not yet on Spotify. All the playlists don't have the country names included. 2 Quote
ErwinG Posted May 8, 2017 at 02:10 PM Author Posted May 8, 2017 at 02:10 PM This looks complicated: ESC Final Night - Allocation for Big 5 and Ukraine: First half Italy Francesco Gabbani "Occidentali's Karma" Second half France Alma "Requiem" Germany Levina "Perfect Life" Spain Manel Navarro "Do It for Your Lover" United Kingdom Lucie Jones "Never Give Up on You"22 Ukraine O.Torvald "Time" Quote
