The show tonight was absolutely incredible! George Wallace was the comedian who kind of opened. I think he was more buying time but he was funny. Celine was darling tonight. She sounded great and the new song is absolutely a blast!

It replaced Ashes. I think it was right after You're the Voice.

WHAT?! But whyy?! Thay've just started like doing promotion with Ashes, singing that song everywhere and then all of a sudden yhey jhst think "forget about it. We've got a new song." while they keep BATB

 

Besides that Ashes is her like her new hits(?) WHERE'S THE LOGIC?

What? It should be "You're the voice" not "Ashes".. OMG

 

Honestly, I don't like "You're the voice" and it's kinda cringey in the raise your arms part

Tonight was definitely epic!! My daughter legit cried because Celine was right in front of us during the mosh pit but just didn't look down far enough to see her. And she didn't get a high-five:(

 

So....new mission for tomorrow lol.

 

FOMO is amazing! The arrangement they used worked so well. She looks stunning onstage and her energy, her voice....everything was on fire. She knows all the die hard are there and she definitely delivered.

Guys, I really do not understand the people who are questioning the logic of recording the current show for dvd release when we have the Asia concert. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Asia show broadcast on TV in a relatively small number of countries? And never released on DVD?

 

The massive majority of Celine fans have not seen the Asia concert, so it will be new to them. And those who did see it on tv probably only saw it once, so would buy a DVD with the same setlist to relive it.

 

The general public (non super fans) are the target audience here.

 

Indeed, but IMO it is not the best version of the Céline show to reflect this Las Vegas residency ^_^

 

The setlist is the core of what you / we will have in tours. So basically if they release this as DVD, it will be 50% to 60% the same songs as her tours.

 

Whereas in the 2011 and 2015 versions there was more diversity, more songs that will most likely not be sung anymore, hence songs that we will not have on potential tour DVD/CDs. ^_^

 

Hopefully, if they release a DVD it will be a mash up of all years.

 

But then, we will get what we will get, if any. Not our decision anyway :-D

I'm super happy to have heard the new song but I do question the choice to remove Ashes, even if just these last 2 nights, when it's one of her newest songs. Why not remove YTV? I know she likes the song but for these last shows I'd think they'd prioritize her catalog, especially if it promotes her new tour/album.

 

It's an odd choice. Maybe they were happy with the footage they recorded of it and felt it could be put on hold? I just hope this doesn't mean Ashes will be cut from the tour setlist.

Yeah, an odd song to cut, but no Ashes means no Ashes speech so an extra 20 min in the show to, you know, sing!

I was at home the other night listening to some Celine (like I do every other single night (and day!)) and a few songs played that made me think about possible setlist changes and how exciting things would be if we could hear this songs live.

 

I was at the shows in Vegas on 29 May and 31 May. I have to say, before attending in person, I wasn't particularly inspired by the current setlist. This was probably just my way of trying to reconcile with the idea that i would never see the a show in Vegas again - but then I had a moment of madness, booked a last minute flight and ticket and found myself in second row just two days later! Anyway, the shows were incredible and Celine's voice was in great shape. It was more than I could ever have hoped for.

 

That said, moving forward, I would certainly welcome some changes for London and the world tour.

 

One song that played was I Love You. Now, here in the UK, I don't know many Celine fans. Certainly not hardcore fans like me. Nevertheless most of my peers and their friends and family own(ed) Falling Into You. And every single one of them, without exception, knows and loves I Love You. I think that song could have been a massive hit here, just like Think Twice. It would have worked so well. I've never understood why it was not released as a single. Whilst its not necessarily a top favourite of mine anymore, I still enjoy the song and I can imagine the legions of fans singing along full voice to the part about the letter! This has definitely been a missed opportunity over the last 23 years and needs to be considered! I'm Dreaming Of You would also work I think.

 

Like most people here, TYLAM is a favourite and I would give anything to hear it live.

A definite win for me would be Call The Man. It needs to come back. I f*** love this song and it would be so powerful with the orchestra and a choir.

They should never have removed Immortality. When it was brought back in 2015 I was so excited and was really disappointed when it didn't feature in the 2017 tour.

 

Sorry For Love (full on Eurovision uptempo version) would be a dream come true. I've loved this song since I first heard it and it never gets old. This needs to be ©amped up and exploited further because it could be an anthem!

 

There are so many more possibilities (Stand By You Side; Naked; If Love Is Out The Question) but it is hard to know where they would find the time.

I was at a Take That concert recently (don't ask! not a fan!) and they played for a full 120 mins! It's a shame we can't get a longer show!

 

With regards to removing current songs, it's a hard one. A Celine show without TPOL would not be a Celine show. It's my favourite song and I can't tell you how excited I was when it was used as the opening song in 2017. Whilst most of it is still lipped, I really liked what they did with it in the opening verse. I would of course love a full live version, even if it means pairing it down a little and rearranging it, but as long as it remains, I'm happy.

 

MHWGO would not be missed but I might be alone in that one.

 

RDMH has certainly been a staple - she sang it at my first concert in 1997 - and I think it has a place. She knows she sings it well - as did Phil Spector - and it always goes down well with the crowd.

 

I've had a love hate thing with LCMM for so long but recently it's in favour. Though given choices Celine has made (didn't she used to complain about singing WDMHBN and MHWGO??) I'm surprised she has never given this one a rest!

 

I have never been a fan of Ashes and didn't care much for HDAMLF. Neither recorded nor live. Her ad libbing for A is great but I would not miss this song if it were removed. Much more excited for FOMO! Whatever happened to LMBTL? this needs to be revisited I think.

 

ABM and BYLM are staples and will remain, as they should. Watching clips, it's hard to get excited for lipped songs, but when you're there in person, it's hard to not be overwhelmed and swept along by the classics. I just wish more of IACBTMN was live! But I am glad they brought a fuller version back, in place of the edited medley with TPOL.

 

Really glad TLYM made a return - and was so excited when I thought it was 100% live. Even if it isn't (I'm still undecided) a new prerecorded track was exciting in itself.

 

When considering potential songs, especially those recorded 20+ years ago, I do worry about how they'd sound today. Celine's voice has obviously changed (in many ways for the better!) and she is less concerned with technical perfection. Many of her best songs were recorded when she protected her voice obsessively. But then look what happened with The Reason and TCOML!! These two songs were standouts for me in 2017 and I could not understand why they were removed. I'm so glad I was there to see them both live in June before they were removed in July. TR blew my mind and TCOML sounded better then than it did in 1993! I actually think it's the perfect encore, in place of or alongside CHFIL.

I am absolutely dead after tonight's show. The debut of the new song. Sitting in front orchestra. TOUCHING HER DURING THE MOSH PIT. I need to recharge for tomorrow's show. Full audio and videos recorded for Wednesday and tonight's show too. Planning to do the same for tomorrow and will post once I get home to New York. One last show, bittersweet. :wub:

 

That’s awesome! At what point do we start running for the mosh pit? I’m on the aisle and don’t wanna miss it! Thank you!
