Mr Paganini was by far the best thing about this show,s far as I'm concerned. (I loooove jazz, and instrumental jazz / fusion in particular, vocal not so much - that's why it's so wild to me that there's actually a studio version of that song that she recorded with fusion god / legend Herbie Hancock that's unreleased, and one that will probably be locked up in Sony vaults forever.... )

 

And now that people mention it - Ne Me Quitte Pas. That was during my "Celine hiatus" - the 15 years or so between 2000-2015 that I was out of the loop as far as Celine was concerned - so I missed the NMQP period. But I would pay big money to hear her do that song live.

 

It's a shame, too, that so many of the best moments were before the phone video omnipresence. All the recent shows are all over YouTube and Instagram, but the ones from several years ago, when phone videos were more rare and they were more adamant at policing it, are relatively hard to find online. There are so few good videos of the Bond Medley, and NMQP, etc. It's a real shame. It seems to me the show was at its height back then, and we have so little saved for posterity.

I miss Mr. Paganini tremendously, a gem for me, couldn't wait to hear it! It's a shame you missed NMQP, a true masterpiece.....

I would absolutely love for her to set up shop for a week or two at some iconic concert hall - Carnegie or Lincoln Center or some such - and just do a show of Piaf and Brel songs / French chanson classics (some of hers included!).

In a place like New York, that would totally sell out. Foreign languages don't scare people off in a major arts city like this; quite the opposite.

She could pull it off in London, too. And I suspect several other places.

The show was absolutely beautiful during the original 2011 runs. I couldn’t get enough of it and her voice was better than it had been in a long time. I really hope we see the original show on dvd. I really hope she takes care of her voice between now and the tour.

I was thrilled to be at the premiere back in 2011. I was mesmerized by how her voice was so crystal clear and strong. And the show was so elegant and classy. (Although I’m still suffering PTSD by the awful transition after she completed the duet with Stevie Wonder and she’s backstage for what felt like an eternity while we all awkwardly waited for her to return to the stage. 🤣) They never fixed that transition and it baffles me to this day. Otherwise the original show was lovely! And I very much enjoyed the changes they made across the first few years— like Immortality, Rolling in the Deep, Over the Rainbow, I Surrender, etc. Her walking down the aisle during Immortality was sublime.

 

I’m very looking forward to the big energy of the upcoming tour!

 

Then, after she does new things for a while, I hope she brings something entirely new to Vegas a few years from now. I’d love for her to do more jazz songs and do a show with tons of spectacle while remaining all about that voice!

Soo I’ll admit this version wasn’t my fave version but after I saw it and what they showed on the screens which was very diff to what we normally see due to the taping I have no words really I never thought this version of the show could look soo beautiful and the things she did with her voice tonight wow!

They had many cameras running around: one on stage that ran around or in front of Celine, two cameras along the left and right sides of the stage that moved automatically, some cameras moving in the aisles, and cameras in the back. I’m pushing the dramatic/cinematic shots.. so they can put it on trailers for her future tours or documentaries. It needs to have great cinematography like A new day. Haven’t you noticed they keep on including A New day shots in trailers because it has an amazing shots.

What was done special for the taping tonight?

 

Not so much anything special more so the camera work was done in a way that shocked me. I mean I could never visualize the show appearing so beautiful and dramatic all at once. Also her vocals some of the runs wow one in particular. I will be honest I am too drunk to remember now but I'll look through my notes tomorrow it just reminded me so much of the final note in the AND dvd during I Surrender. She was super chatty and emotional and she really interacted with the crowd more then any other show I've seen and I've been a good 4 or 5 times now. I'll try to give a better run down later right now I'm too drunk too full and too tired LOL! I gotta be honest! I also cried a good 3 or 4 times through the show. Having done the updates since 2015 (sans the times I was ill and faced health issues)I do have to say you can't compare any of the versions of the show to the videos we see on IG or youtube. It's just SO different live and to me tonight was just so much more extravagant then ever before prob due to the extra work being done because it was being filmed.

Sorry if you find it funny but I tried to think of it how Celine may have viewed it and honestly I feel that might be why she did it. Let's be honest she had plenty of other mini tours to release she hasn't done it so why release this and of course the final shows which as even I`ve admitted are not as great as the original show. This was the best thing I could come up with at this point as to how her mind may be working at this moment. And sorry what do you mean by we have no proof they were filming. I've spoken to 3 people who went to last night's show who confirmed they did film and that there were signs outside the entrance indicating that. As for prior shows I'm saying they obvs filmed because the footage we've seen through the years whether it be promotional purposes or for tv specials such as 3 boys and a show was from the overall show. There is no way they just filmed one song. Think Rene's return we got the two songs on the live stream fine but then why did we end up seeing footage from ABM from the same night later on. I strongly believe they filmed that show. I also don`t have any memory of us having prior knowledge of them informing us other stops of the TC tour being filmed and yet we got footage from several stops in TTEOW despite the main concerts being filmed in Montreal and Boston.

 

Tbh I wanted to share some good news and I`m honestly annoyed at some people here (not you personally) but I feel like no one is ever satisfied. She doesn`t film we complain she films oh why did she film this night. Like honestly I`ve reached a point where I am like how can this woman win. Don`t misunderstand me I get people are allowed to have opinions but I seriously was not expecting so many people to be so negative. I thought it would be like - oh while I don`t love this version atleast we are getting something after so many years. And some people need to relax we don`t even know yet how it will be used. Can we atleast give her the benefit of the doubt for now. I know her team hasn`t been perfect but come on. I apologize for the rant I do respect everyone here but I was so excited this morning thinking other fans would be too but honestly I can`t believe some of us. Anyways I will be heading to the show tonight I will see what I can learn. I`ll let you guys know later tonight. Who knows for those who are upset maybe you`ll get your wish and this will be shelved much like the 2017 mini tour.

No I understand that we don’t know if she’s doing anything in terms of a documentary I was just throwing out ideas of what could happen with the footage. I’m not sure either how it would flow but I am hoping for the best. Having just returned from the show I must say they are doing a fab job in terms of camera work for the filming of this version of the show. I def noticed the difference between what we normally see on the screens and what was shown tonight. The only thing I can think of is if they do it how they did IDAN during the intro of TTEOW where they just mashed all the performances together regardless of what outfit she was wearing. I do hope whatever happens it comes out good and we are all satisfied. Again i apologize for earlier I was just a little annoyed and shocked at everyone’s reaction it seemed very negative and I wasn’t expecting it. So I’m sorry if I went a bit overboard or anything.

While I wish we could get the original "Celine" show (and makes me very sad we most likely will never get it) released it'll be nice to have at least this show filmed professionally, even if it's technically the same show filmed in Tokyo. Although she wasn't at her best energy-wise or vocally during the Tokyo filming, imo, so right there we have an improvement already. It would make it even better if they include some good bonus features in the DVD/Blu-ray release (if they do that instead of just making it available on streaming services).

She mentioned the construction helmet that she was photographed in back during the construction of the Colosseum and she said that this lady's shiny bling hat was similar to it and had her bring it up for her.

I got 90%. I failed one none Céline question and then I accidentally put 7 years for the A New Day Run And I couldn't return to fix that stupid mistake lol.

Agree, I know people that have inside information. They sometimes share with me. Sometimes it comes true and sometimes plans change. That's why I never share it here because the messenger is always shot down and some people get mad if what you say doesn't come true. Not worth it.

I really hope it is a DVD they are filming for. I remember hoping and feeling the same when I saw all the cameras (including a crane cam) in London in 2017 though and nothing ever came of that.
