It’s getting earlier each show. On the 5th, it started at the “ooooooh” at the end of TLYM, last night it started at the final chorus. I wouldn’t be surprised if it started at the bridge today lol. Just be prepared during TLYM to rush up with everyone.

13 years ago I met Rene on the night of the 500th show of AND and had my picture with him. And Andre Coutou. Me and my mum’s first time seeing her. She squeezed my hand so hard during The Power of Love, both of us crying our eyes out. I can’t imagine my life without Céline. My God I’m a soppy, disastrous idiot today. 16 years of Vegas. Insane. I remember buying ANDHC the album and there being promo for Vegas in there...crazy. So excited for what’s to come Edited by stevo

I've been lucky enough to see 3 different versions of this show. I was at the first 2 nights back in 2011 when it premiered, I was at the first show after she took that haitus to care for Rene, and now the last 2 shows. They've all been different setlists and styles.

 

The show is really fun when you attend. I know this most recent incarnation has gotten some flack (including from myself) but when you go, it's actually a lot of fun. She's very funny and talks A LOT, but she's very entertaining. One thing that stood out was how humble and thankful she is, she went on and on about that. She's something special for sure. I've never attended a show of hers and not had an absolute blast, no matter what I've thought of the setlist or costumes. She's quite magical on stage. My mom thought she was absolutely marvelous, she was so impressed with her.

 

I'm gonna miss Vegas as much as I think she needs to move on. I'm great with as many residencies as she wants to do, I just think shorter runs would be better. If she hadn't done Vegas twice I'd only have had the opportunity to see her one time when she came to my city on the Taking Chances tour as opposed to the roughly 18 times I've seen her since she started Vegas in 2003.

 

On a other note, there was a fan last night who had seen this show 49 times (not Ramona)! Celine let her come to the front of the stage and took a selfie with her. She's like come on girlfriend there are other shows on the strip! She was hilarious last night. Can't wait for tonight! I went to the last A New Day performance and it was pretty emotional for everyone.

Aghh i shoulda got an aisle!!! Do people run out from the middle?? Is there a song break some time before that where I can get out?? 😰

You know what, it’s the last show tonight Lyn, anything is possible. You could always pretend to be going to the bathroom to get out of your row and into the isle and then go for it. :)

 

What they gonna do ban you from the show :P

That one is much better than the one they posted yesterday, the lighting and angle yesterday brought all the body shamers out yesterday but she looks amazing in today’s post.

 

body shamers will always be body shamers, poor souls.

be like Céline: enjoy, and do not pay attention. it's wasting time.

Im sure she is a rollercoster of emotions and at the same time she needs to leave Vegas behind, it was a great ride, but can't wait to see whats next

To all the fans going to the show tonight enjoy every moment and make he best of it. I remember being there for the final 2 shows of A New Day and it's been incredible memories. And to all of us here, there highs and there were lows but we got through it all. It's been an amazing journey to see our girl conquer Vegas and the change and impact she's had on the industry. The new chapter after tonight will be exciting and I can't wait to see where it leads to.

I loved attending AND in 2005, 2006 & 2007 and loved the first few years of this residency which was amazing.

 

I’m glad this residency is coming to an end, but it will be sad at the same time to wake in the morning and know that this chapter is done.

 

Exited for the future and hopeful I will get to return to Vegas in the not to distance future for her 3rd residency. :)

 

To all those attending tonight, have an amazing time & make the very last standing ovation floor her from all of us who can’t be there.

 

But remember... the best is yet to come ;)

So happy for all of you attending tonight. Soak in every second. Can’t wait to see footage and hear all about your time!

 

So proud of Celine. Like others have mentioned — she has had and will continue to have a truly remarkable career. There aren’t many living legends. And there’s certainly only one Celine Dion.

 

We are all so lucky.

Great post from Stephane Laporte! He explains that he went to Vegas at the end of May. Here's a rough translation:

 

"I went backstage and Denis Savage told me I could wait in Rene's office and that Celine will stop by before she goes on stage. Rene's office... It makes me smile and it bothers me. It's still Rene's office even if he's no longer here. For sure. He dreamt too much of this place. It feels like he is still here. The silence we hear, it sounds like his voice.

 

Celine is here, more radiant than ever. I ask her how she is feeling just a week before the end. She says: You know my friend, the end is always the beginning. And I hear the silence telling her 'Keep going'."

There’s so much back and forth on this forum (for the past two decades!) about her residencies, but let’s accept this moment for what it is:

 

1 artist rewrote Las Vegas history single handedly.

1 woman saved their economy.

Her fans were a part of that.

There will only ever be one Celine Dion.

 

I’m so excited for the new album and world tour, but it’s true that Vegas will be in a sort of mourning with her departure.
