I’m all for her talking, I just wish she’d maybe talk more about the songs and the story behind some of these songs before singing them. I wish she explain the David foster story behind ABM, or talk about what the song ANDHC meant to her at the point when she recorded it. It’s a little much when she takes 64 minutes to explain how hard she tried to perfectly open the envelope from Ryan Renyolds without tearing it.

Just my thoughts.

 

I want her to do a storyteller tour. I would love for her to pick some of HER favorites from her catalog, and tell us why she picked it. Talk about interesting studio sessions, etc. This can be done in smaller theaters and maybe even rearrange some of the bigger hits. It would be very special.

The 2016 summer tour was essentially that.

From an artistic standpoint, I feel it was her strongest work ever.

That would be ideal, both for her fans and the people who just go to see her just once..It's so easy to happen as well. But as time has proven Celine hasn't been on board with this thought so far. I guess something like that would be scripted and would end up being extremely boring for us, but for her LV audience would be perfect. For example the Ashes speech she did, june 1st i think, when she told the story about how she didn't want to record MHWGO, was so on point and relevant. She could just tell one long story for a certain song in each show and then after a few shows choose a different song to talk about. Maybe if she includes a song from her new album in the current LV set, she will start talking about it and let Ashes speech go.

 

Also, admit it! You haven't heard her speech for a long time! We passed the point where we are trying to perfectly open the envelope long ago. For the past 6 months we are just practicing for the audition :P

 

Gotta admit I fast forward though the whole speech at this point. At least with the old medley speech she did before changing the show up, she chose to sometimes change it up... sometimes we even had personal stories about her kids around The holidays. Now that Ashes speech has to go, she could introduce it in 1 minute.

Literally condense it into a hits medley, BYLM/TPOL/IACBTMN (i love the ending of this so switch it and TPOLS place) and then do an encore acoustic of MHWGO

I loved the u.s special before the 2008 tour when she did RDMH with her dancers and turns her back to the crowd shakes her bum and does a quick dance thing... she could add that in again although she has no dancers I think it was rather sexy and the video above reminded me a little of it! ��

 

If only a gif of this existed :P lol

Well, she clearly loves to dance and is good at it. I'd rather see her dance in her own show than do someone atrocity like Dancing with the Stars or something like that!

I'm not particularly distressed about that - but I will be bothered if they decide do release the 2018 tour on Netflix (as we suspected a while back), instead of either the 2016 or even 2017 tour.

That would be like having diamonds at your disposal but going with the candy necklace instead!

Yeah... spot on. Some say during the time she does her longuest speech in the show you have time to dine out in Bellagio, travel with Pepe to Málaga in Spain and dance a bit of Falling Into You with him, and then go back to your seats in the show :giggle:

Maybe she's making the speech long because they need to fill the time? Idk. I loved the speech, always found it hilarious (never awkward) until recently when she started telling it slowly and having big pauses. Just making it drag.

 

I think she should reduce it to about half the length to make time for one of the songs they cut out. Falling into You without the dancing would be my choice (at least not with Pepe) because the others are more vocally demanding. And I just really like it and could be a nice song before or after To Love you More.

Why fill the time with more than 6 minutes nonsense instead of bringing back think twice for example?

Because Think Twice doesn’t resonate with American audiences. Its virtually unknown over there and got little to no response from the audience... not to mention it was dropped right after her vocal fail on May 23rd

I adore Think Twice, it's a shame it wasn't a bigger hit over here. Maybe she didn't promote it as much in the US?

I dont think it was a very american style song. It was far too “rock” for her genre at the time. Where as in Europe it was really “In” to do rock ballads. Like it skyrocketed before she even began to promote it. Celine for some reason doesnt promote it until it gets attention. Like for example, Breakaway, it got no attention until it got a little attention in the UK and then she did it on SCD (Like british dancing with the stars)
