Besides of the The Colour Of My Love Tour and performances in Las Vegas, she only sang the song in the US once. It was back in 1994 at Live with Regis & Kathie Lee. I guess Sony Music intended to make it her next hit over there.

Just realised that the Kathie of Regis & Kathie is actually the Kathie of the Today Show that Celine co-hosted in 2016. 22 years after. :)

Funnily you can see the difference with Celine: much more reserved/shy in 1994 and more outspoken in 2016 :giggle:

If they will release a DVD of Céline's 2nd Residency Show... I want the 2011-2014 version.. Even though i like the recent setlists and arrangements for some songs. The 2011-2014 has the best visuals and better setup than the recent show. It's more high tech than the recent show which looks simple. Before, we have a special effects like the hologram effects.. video projections of previous performances during WDMHBN, using elevators for the whole orchestra bands also the middle elevator which Céline stands during the Bond medley. Better visuals, more elegant looking, the outfits.. that's why i think the 2011-2014 should be release in DVD.

There's no point in releasing a DVD of a show that ends in 2019 with a version of the show filmed 8 or 5 years before, which would be 8 or 5 years old... :rolleyes:

 

If we ever get a DVD release of this it's either the most recent version of the show filmed in 2018/2019 or nothing. If only they'll include segments of previous songs performed through the residency between 2011-2019, but judging how they have treated her previous DVD releases I doubt this would happen. Probably just some images of her singing the premiere of the show in 2011, the early "concept" of the show and not the full performances -as they usually do.

 

As always, Sony Music/Céline's team screwing everything up with her career...

 

Not that I'm interested at all in a DVD of Vegas though, but I respect those who want one.

Sorry Jav but I thought AND DVD was brilliant and so was TTEOTW .... how much more details could we have asked for? Ok there wasn’t full performances of AND in the beginning but what singer shows everything, every change, every song performed in a DVD? I don’t think they did a bad job documenting that part of her career at all but in recent years it’s been diabolical.

 

Rene used to make sure DVDs were released as he knew how much fans loved them.... I hope someday soon someone in her team realises how important it is to document tours etc

I would be more than happy with a dvd of this very recent show, because I like the setlist and atleast we would have a dvd. The 2016 and the 2017 on dvd would be everything, but that´s better than nothing. The tokyo show, her voice wasn´t in top shape and she looked tired, so I would rather have a vegas-2019-one. Just hoping the next tour will have an amazing setlist with new songs (concept of TCWT), and we´ll get a dvd of this one too... :)

My point was to say that I don't think we will get two versions of the show Kev, I wasn't criticising the bonus material we got for AND which was extensive and great :)

 

But fans are expecting again to get two different shows of this residency and we don't even know if we will get even one DVD. It didn't happen with AND 12 years ago, when many thought we would have different performances of the show and the cancelled 2004 DVD, and it's less likely it will happen now with this show.

 

We didn't even get a DVD of the 3 tours she recently did in Europe/Asia with great setlists (2016/2017 ehem), I don't even see Sony caring about Vegas for a show which is directly oriented to a specific audience there... :innocent:

I think, they think a Vegas DVD will sell way more than an European or Asian tour only DVD.

 

I don't care for it anymore whatever choice they would make.

 

Setlist and show element I would love to see the 2011/2015 on DVD.

 

Won't care much for an Vegas release of this setlist when we already have the Tokio release of it.

 

Won't please everyone but a docu style of the shows through the years would be amazing too.

Still hoping for that Netflix special someday :wub:

I don't think they'll release the recent show because it's the asian setlist and it was already televised. If they will ever release this... I think it will be live in Japan. They will just change some footage and edit the sounds to make it clearer for the DVD version like they did in Memphis 1997 (both were televised and released on DVD), Céline Sur Les Plaines 2008 (both were televised and released on DVD), Céline Une Seule Fois 2013 (both were televised and released on DVD)...

LMAO yes yes I know I have an issue with the dvd thing but you can't deny it's been forever since we've gotten a proper dvd release(and to be fair I've always had a bit of a bias towards the Vegas show cause it was the first time I saw her live plus I also met her) But joke or no joke nooo haha :laugh: I could barely speak to her at my meet and greet in 2016. I still have no idea how I even managed to get two words out of my mouth. Plus I figure at this rate after the whole "filmed 2017 tour" which never ended up being released there's no point wasting my time or energy chasing her or her team around they don't seem to care tbh. Who was it from her team that said during the 2017 tour "oh no one buys dvd anymore" :doh:

Yes I like the current setlist very much, but WDMHBN, TT , FIY and TR are missing, that would be the perfect show right now, asia tour + WDMHBN :)

They should cut the Ashes speech and shorten the Youre the Voice speech and add back in WDMHBN.

To me it’s a shame that they cut it out because, honestly not just a good song but it was very VISUALLY STUNNING to watch because of the lighting and the all the decending screens.

I don’t know why they removed those special effects on the recent show. Holograms, using the elevators, video projections of previous performance of céline, led visuals.

 

That’s why i like the 2011-2014 show

For me... i think céline thinks that her voice sounds thin when using wireless mic unlike the wired mic i think she feels it sounded full??

She did in the first show 28/12 during the Prince/LCMM/RDMH medley. But after that she used the wired mic again. The girl loves her wire and she does like the sound quality more, plus this is how she started singing so she connects more this way i think.

Those are stunning visuals, first time I'm seeing clips of the full 2011 shows. I only had seen the 007 medley.

 

They should totally use these again, with the current setlist.

 

Also wish she would bring back the baton twirling for RDMH.
