After reading some comments on here I thought the performances were going to be awful ..I don’t see it , I think it was great all things considered!

It’s night 1 back , it isn’t going to be perfect she even said she was nervous!

I’m just happy to see her back & healthy , she can take her time getting back into the swing of things!

Her voice isn't completely there. I'm glad she didn't do the BBMAs.

Sounded like she was battling with the belts and resonance - which she normally nails.

Also, her voice sounded a bit dry and not as limber - I hope there's no long term vocal damage.

 

I feel like she needs more vocal rest. She should have cancelled LV shows preceding the tour.

She does too many shows. She needs to slow down a bit and protect that instrument.

 

But she's still our QUEEN and we will support her regardless.

She's always shaky when she first performs a new song. It was like that with Hdamlf and she got better and better with each performance.Given the surgery and that she hasn't performed in 4 months, it's normal that she wouldn't nail it. It'll probably get much better by the time the tour starts

Also she looks amazing, I'm loving the jersey. I wonder if she's gonna keep wearing it or if it's just for this period with the hockey championship ( or whatever it's called lol )

Again the lipsyncing discussion... If this was a tour I would complain, but Vegas? She can lipsync as much as she wants, specially now. Mariah does it, JLo does it, Britney of course does it, all of them have their own residences...

 

I don't think Ashes was bad, I still remember the first times she sang Taking Chances live and how shaky she was, then it got better. I'm sure she will nail Ashes after a few times.

 

Doctors probably asked her to gain some weight, still it worries me she didn't say she is ok, in the speech she said she had a health issue "who doesn't?" but she didn't say I'm well now... Maybe is just me worrying too much, but that condition is complicated.

Wow so is the audio change of a 2003 vocal playback following a 2018 butchering of rdmh obvious or what.....i hate to be negative Nancy about a change because we all know how rare a change is but why can't they ever select songs she is comfortable singing live instead of insulting us with a filler. Its nothing but a filler. Its not a positive change at all. She did wonderful with this song on tour. What's up with this?!?!? I would take back HDAMLF in place of this still dusty old #ss playback tape idan.

LOL how funny that all the people tearing me up for not liking Vegas has been anticipating her comeback last night like Christmas day and the moment she uses playback they're ready to jump on her neck and tear her and the show up to pieces!... Talk about coherent fans here...

 

You want Vegas shows? Eat them. Swallow the whole of it, with all the pros and cons. But don't pretend she's staying there for 15 years and she won't preserve her beautiful instrument using playback, and the more she's there and gets older, the more she'll use it.

 

I may be harsh on some topics but it would never enter in my head to criticise her right since the first show after 4 months, considering she has had a surgery that could have easily affected her voice and maybe (more than probable) she doesn't even feel ready to come back to perform last night, but there she is So it's shocking how some of you have like a double standard to attack other fans for not liking her isolation in this one place, for what it means and impedes her to do other things, but then YOU are the firsts to criticise her Vegas show for such a simple thing to understand like the use of playback, when she's clearly not at her 100%. Can you show some sensitivity? Empathy???

 

Anyway I just couldn't care less about playback thing. Actually may I send a big LOL to the 2008 playback use of IDAN, that was funny

 

My eyes are only to her astonishing figure last night (is this woman 50 really??? ) I bow to her outfit on IDAN, showing those legs. She looks absolutely amazing

What have I just been reading here...... Ashes was performed for the first time and for Celine to say she is nurvous.... she really must have been as she very rarely says this! Ashes needs some work but man her high notes are incredible at the end of the show!!

If you check the live videos on her story, you ll hear TT and the acoustic medley. It's painful to hear, I m in pain for her too. It's not Ashes the problem,and the lack of practice, it's the current state of her voice that's worrying I think... I m totally supporting her however. I know she ll get better. ❤️

I’m not following what you mean? She can make some mistakes.... she hasn’t sang in a good while.... probably just warming up!

Of course, she can. She is not a robot. I am not blaming her, or Vegas, or the surgery. I just thought the state of her voice was slightly concerning and it sounded difficult for her to belt. And that makes me worried for her ahahahah I know I shouldn't but... 😁 I m worried for our Celine ❤️ Fingers crossed she ll feel better after a few shows.

I only saw Ashes and I don't think she is that struggling. I had heard worse from her.

 

But everytime she messes up a note, ppl put the universal law in question on this board.

 

And I m laughing when I read she needed more rest. She had almost 6 months off and she sounded better when she didn't stop for 2 years and with health issues.

My guess is that she just needs to get back on track after this "long" break ( and she should have rehearsed lol).

 

I usually don't care about her look but we can see her break did good to her. She looked so fresh.

Two months after Céline Dion canceled a series of shows in Las Vegas to undergo a “minimally invasive surgical procedure,” the superstar returned to the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Tuesday night.

The Grammy award winner began the night by addressing the full concert hall where she received a standing ovation.

“You know it’s been a while since we’ve done a show I had a little health issue — don’t we all,” Dion said. “But I have to tell you, I’m extremely happy to be back. The stage is kind of my home away from home and I have to admit I can barely stand on my feet tonight as I am a little bit nervous.”

“It doesn’t matter how long you’ve done a show,” Dion admitted. “Every time you do a show you get nervous and I do have butterflies tonight.”

She continued, “You wonder will the people still come, are they gonna say what if she cancels tonight, will they stay home, I don’t take anything for granted. You can see so many shows in Vegas and I’m so very grateful.”

“Not everyone has the privilege to do what they love in life so thank you for the privilege,” she added.

Dion began the set by singing “I Surrender” and later treated the audience to a performance of her new song “Ashes,” which is featured on the new Deadpool 2 movie soundtrack.

Of the song, Dion said, “It’s definitely not a children’s movie.”

“It’s funny but crazy too, so be careful with the little children,” she said. “The main man starring in this movie is an incredible and funny amazing actor — a Canadian — Ryan Reynolds sent me a song.”

She added, “But the song I couldn’t resist. I wanted to record this song and I did. And it gives me pleasure to sing it for the first time.”

In late March, the star, 50, announced on her Facebook page that she’s been dealing with a condition in her middle ear known as Patulous Estachian tube.

First of all, I am very HAPPY to see her back on stage again!! No matter how good the doctors are, a surgery is a surgery and God knows what could have gone wrong...

 

I love how Ashes is added to the show! OK, it might not have been perfect, but as most said, it's the first time she sung it live. It will get better in time, when she gets more comfortable with the song! I also like that IDAN is added... not happy about the shortened version or the PB, but it's good to have one more song of her 'own' What's interesting to me is, that TSMGO is out... I wonder why... was she afraid to sing it? Or does she feel the show has gone on, and it's time to move on from that song??

 

She sounded good to me! I'm happy for her she has gotten this time off and i hope it charged her batteries for the Summer tour!

I like this setlist and I'm sad I missed out on it (minus Ashes) when my show was cancelled in April. I am really holding out for fall dates, and hopefully Think Twice and IDAN will remain in because I really want to see them both... despite the playback.

The "I Drove All Night" part.. the video is out of sync.. there's a glitch it started at the middle (I drove all niiiight) up to the end. Sometimes due to editing it goes like that. That's why play it again at the beginning (not at the middle) before exporting

The only thing I actually care about is her health. I really hope this ear surgery was 100% successful and that she took no damage vocally from it. Knowing that, she's coming back.
