québecflower Posted January 7, 2018 at 03:37 AM Posted January 7, 2018 at 03:37 AM I personally like to have a few cocktails before any show I go to. It relaxes me and loosens me up just enough to enjoy the show and not be affected by those around me. I like to have fun at a show, but that lady...way too drunk. They shouldn't have let her in, in that condition.it is always nice to have a drink or a few, but some can't stop. Popular Post PC_59 Posted January 7, 2018 at 05:45 AM Popular Post Posted January 7, 2018 at 05:45 AM (edited) Here is my review for the January 3rd show. Let me start by saying that I have seen the show in July 2014. I prefer the 2017 version. First of all, the opening song is epic and amazing. Lightning + stage + Celine makes FINALLY a good opening number for this show. The following sequence until the Power of Love is awesome as well and people love it. Then it gets complicated. The jazz portion of the show is not good. Paganini has done its time. Quand ça balance is an insult to her French career. At least, sing Pour que tu m’aimes encore. Is it amazing with the current Scott Price arrangements. Then we have a couple of slow songs. It is good. Think Twice is amazing and the crowd loves it even if it wasn’t a big success in the US. All by Myself is wow, but the playback ending is sad because we were used to so many great endings of this song. The acoustic medley is very good, however too short. This should be dropped. Kick out Paganini, Quand ça balance, and sing a French song, and I’m alive, A new day has come and That’s the way it is in full duration. People love the Kiss medley and it’s normal because she does it great. Purple rain is a hit. The classic ending LCMM-RDMH is good. The show must go on is amazing and the orchestra serves her well. MHWGO is of course the favourite moment of the crowd. Overall, the show feels a little cheap. The visuals are bad for most of them. The big screen at the back, which was a major technological progress in 2003, is becoming dated and needs an update. Like I said, I have seen the show in 2014 and the visuals were amazing. I miss the Moment Factory animations, which were top notch (Flowers from the Reason, James Bond segment, etc.). The show should last for maybe one year (ends in 2019?) and then go on a break. Come back with the same formula: big orchestra, awesome visuals, centered on Celine. The crowd does not care about dancers. They are scotched to their seat when they hear her sing. She could sing the Cheesecake Factory menu and people would love it. When the show finishes, you can really tell by listening to the crowd that she is in fact a living legend like no other. The best she does is singing I give the show 5 stars because when I got out of the Colosseum, I felt sad, proud, amazed and happy. Just like 4000 people at each of her last 1076 shows. She is the best performer. Edited January 7, 2018 at 05:45 AM by PC_59 10 Quote Je te jetterai des sorts Pour que tu m'aimes encore

She is the best performer. That's the most true thing you said at the end. When you leave her show in Vegas something weird happens to you, no matter how many times you have seen the show you walk away with so many different emotions. That happened with A New Day... the first time around and it still happens. I tend to always leave that show, feeling satisfied, but at the same time sad; but not really knowing why lol. You feel in awe for being in the same room as CELINE DION the DIVA!! and yet she has a way of having a personality that you feel like you are best friends with her after a 90 minute show, it's Strange. Also worth-noting having sat in the front row, being in the mosh pit and seeing her up close within hand view, no matter what you think she looks like on television or in pictures or on bootlegs from YouTube or anything, she looks so different, she's so small and beautiful ( which we all knew but in person it's x100) it's still hard for me to believe how strong voice like hers comes from her little body lol. Her face is actually so small and way more youthful looking in person. When that curtain closes at end you really feel like it was worth every second and at that point it really doesn't matter if we liked the setlist or the dresses or graphics or any of they because she has a way of really drawing the crowd in, she's truly an entertainer like I've never seen before and probably will ever see anyone come close to. That's why the this Vegas show continues to work no matter how many of us feel about the dire need of change needed to the current version of the show. BELIEVE ME it doesn't matter when your in those seats and she appears. Edited January 7, 2018 at 06:17 AM by Nmj 9 Quote

RosieBarron Posted January 7, 2018 at 09:01 AM Posted January 7, 2018 at 09:01 AM (edited) Are you guys sure she's sick? I'm wondering if that fan made her nervous and she needed a day off to recuperate. I wondered that too. Not only could her back have been affected but she might be quite shaken. The adrenaline would have kicked in whilst she was dealing with the situation but these things tend to hit you afterwards. Also of course it's just been Christmas and the second anniversary is coming up, it might be an emotionally difficult time for Celine aside from anyone doing that to her. Angel2006 Posted January 7, 2018 at 09:38 AM Posted January 7, 2018 at 09:38 AM Judging by the videos of the woman onstage with Celine, I think Celine clearly wasn't bothered by her and her back didn't look affected by the lady wrapping her leg around Celine in any way. Celine was surprised by it yes, but clearly was fine afterwards. Celine was laying on the floor afterwards to be funny and pretend like she was fainting, because she made it through and got the lady off the stage without any trouble. It was just Celine's humorous way of dealing with the whole thing, at least that was my take on it anyways. If we think about it, Celine hasn't been sick for quite some time now, so it's not that strange for her to need a sick day. I think the timing is just all coincidental to when she hurt her back and I have a feeling this time off has nothing to do with the other. The whole hurting her back incident was just some freak thing that happened and I think this is a separate thing entirely. I am hoping that is the case anyways, because I would hate for Celine to have some type of long term serious back problem. Whenever the reasoning for this cancellation, I hope Celine gets better soon. Hopefully we hear something from her team soon, because I hate it when Celine isn't well. Quote
Lexi Posted January 7, 2018 at 10:27 AM Posted January 7, 2018 at 10:27 AM When that woman jumped on Céline, I thought oh great she will injure her back that way!!I had a back problem too a few months ago and anyone pulling on me like that would sure make things worse. With a back injury, I find it helps to lie down on the floor and stretch your back - and I wonder if that's why Céline just lied down on the stage right after the incident... The way I interpreted that part, was more like an ironic wink to the bodyguards, that they (finally) took care of that woman, but forgot to ask if Céline was okay. So she kinda dropped herself to the floor, in an ironic way saying ‘hey guys, you’re not paying attention to me, I could have been in trouble...’ But your explanation seems very plausible to me. 2 Quote
Xpresso Posted January 7, 2018 at 11:49 AM Posted January 7, 2018 at 11:49 AM Well yes Céline was being ironic but at the same time I think she just used the moment to relax her back. I might be wrong but that's what I would have done. Also, someone commented that Céline looked fine after the incident. When your throw your back out, it's not always like BANG I can't move. You feel something is wrong but sometimes it takes hours before you really feel it... You can keep doing your thing for a while and then you have no choice but stop. Quote
Javito Posted January 7, 2018 at 11:49 AM Posted January 7, 2018 at 11:49 AM Hear hear, how things are different today? So today that "nice gesture" of Céline with the drunk woman doesn't look that nice anymore, right? What some of you regarded as "nice" and "classy" yesterday it *may* have costed Céline another back injury and another show cancellation. But I hope it's not about what happened yesterday. Please let that cancellation be for another reason and NOT because that stupid woman has hurted her back again with the humping Javier, the scripted and boring show in Vegas bores you. What a way to mix things up! She should have random people invade the stage every night! You know, I empathise with Céline on this because somehow I see that all her long talking and interrumpting the show like this and allowing people to come on stage with her, it's just her way to make each show a little different. Before every show she must be like "how can I do the same damn show again for the millionth time and still have some fun and make it different"? But security and safety comes first. Look how things are today, another show has been cancelled, God knows if it's been because of that drunk woman and another back pain Right? I can't even imagine how they'd let drunk people into the show venue. Vegas is a theme park for drunk people wandering around That's what's sad about Céline having to deal with that, but the last show she went very far allowing that woman to come up on stage with her. Exactly, that's how it usually goes with back pain. You feel the "clack!!" there and know that something went wrong, but pain doesn't come in that moment when the body is warm and moving, it's not until hours later and especially, not until you sit down and relax and the body cools down, that when you want to resume and stand up and move again, you just can't Edited January 7, 2018 at 11:53 AM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now...
