Are you even serious right now? Really? Lose alot of fans? People need to really chill-lax a bit. First of all it's not like Celine is out rightly calling someone a b*tch. It's the word in a freakin' song. It's a cultural colloquialism. It's even allowed on TV/radio in USA. The context is not to defame someone. It is an endearing expression. Get a freakin' grip.

Well she's done Treat Her Like a Lady, and trust me some of those lyrics are way more risque. The story of a woman living in the hood going to "jail for attacking her man." Straight out of Compton. Folks please relax.

Actually Ellen was just fine with Celine and laughed at all her jokes and their was no awkwardness. In fact they were very funny together. Remember when Celine did her vocal warm ups on Ellen show and Ellen was captivated that Celine could do that with her voice and wanted to copy her. But it wasn't until Ellen decided one day to attack RC and his hairstyle and Celine would not have it. Celine's instinct kicked in and put Ellen in her place. From then Ellen started acting weird towards Celine. It wasn't until another 5 years til Celine was invited on the show again. Funny thing is Celine does not even know what she has done to Ellen but Ellen is hostile towards her.

in Québec , it is not nice to say it, do you live here? and people have the right to have an opinion different than yours. If for you it is acceptable to use it, do it.

No i never heard those songs before besides Britney's song. So i am sure Celine has never heard them either. Ellen is only trying to get a laugh on the back of poor Celine. And it failed miserably. And of course she was copying Jimmy Fallon. To the person saying that she wasn't, . If Celine had said the word "*CENSORED*" it would have been funny. But Celine didn't want to say the word even though its fine to say it on tv. When Celine does things like that, thats why people say she's for granny's. She would have gotten so many new fans if she had only said the word "*CENSORED*". A missed opportunity if you ask me. I can assure you that it would be a sound bite on every enteratinement show world wide if Celine said "You betta work *CENSORED*!"

 

It is totally scripted, I think. It is comedy. Nobody's fooling nobody.

 

So basically Celine should have changed who she is in order to get a new fan base? She's probably never said that word before even behind closed doors and she'll start doing it now to gain new fans? No no no. THIS is one of the reasons I love this woman. She is who she is, she never pretended to be anyone else and she became who she is today by being genuine and true through and through. Sometimes artistry is more than numbers, album sales and popularity you know.

 

I'm not trying to be rude or argumentative with you but I really cringe at the idea of expecting an artist we supposedly admire to do things completely out of character just because we want them to be more popular. I understand where you're coming from and what you mean, I get it. I want her to be popular and relevant till she's 90 because she's worth it

 

Can you imagine Britney starting to sing power ballads and dressing in gowns? Or Madonna starting to sing swing and big band jazz?

 

I think that Celine is evolving as an artist as she is maturing and she does everything in her power to stay relevant, without however compromising her integrity. And personally, I salute that.

 

Celine is a legend. That's the only reputation she has to maintain.

I can't speak for other languages, but that word in English really isn't a big deal. I mean, it's even allowed to be said on TV. It's the "C" word that's totally taboo in English. I think she just didn't want to say it because her kids were watching. I hardly think she would lose any fans for saying the "B" word, especially since it isn't even that bad.

 

It is just a female dog, after all.

I actually found it amusing that she sang B-b-b-b-better! The audience reaction said it all! It emphasized the funny side of the situation IMO

Frankly, I don't think Ellen actually likes Celine. The way she speaks to her - she seems to have little patience for her. I think there is a complete culture breakdown between the two of them, Ellen doesn't understand Celine or seem to know much about how she became who she is. Her loss!!

 

No. Ellen loves Celine. She keeps inviting her on her shows. The way she looks at her, the way she talks at ther, I feel she likes her. You can tell.

 

Take someone who doesn't like Celine. Take him to spend 15 minutes with her and bam you get someone who likes Celine. As simple as that.

Oh...and on the ANDHC special she said "s***." But other than that, Celine is, professionally speaking: squeaky clean. It is how she has always been and chooses to handle herself this way as a professional. She didn't become famous and successful by trying out new personas. She's successful because she's stayed the same always, and it makes her come off genuine. And this particular instance on "Ellen" was no different. She simply remained herself.

With all due respect I'm starting to get tired of your sarcastic tone. It's rather obvious we all have different opinions about what Celine should and shouldn't do but in the end of the day it's not our call to make. She is who she is. We either like her as she is or we move on. Personally, I'm tired of artists undressing to get on stage, cursing like sailors and resorting to all sorts of antics in order to be popular. Celine is not one of them and I salute her for that. Saying b... will not maker her cool. Because "cool" is a rather subjective term and each one of us defines it in a very different way. For some people, Kanye West is cool. To me, he is a joke and anything but an artist.
