Sounds like they were recreating Celine's LCMM music video!

Ha, that was my thought exactly!

Well, if Celine isn't celebrating the 40th anniversary of her career, Radio-Canada is!

They made a whole podcast! It's called Celine, c'est elle le boss!

You can hear an interview with those behind it here.

A really interesting discussion and I can’t wait to get off work so I can binge-listen. 🙂

Well that was so cool!

Perfect content for someone like me, who's more interested in Celine as a cultural phenomenon than in her music (though everyone featured is extremely well-versed in her career and a fan, in one way or another.).

Each episode is structured around a theme - love, Celine on TV, parodies, and family - and each features a fan-club-style discussion and interviews, recollections of key moments in her career.

Those featured include people like Sonia Benezra, Denise Bombardier, Charlotte Cardin, Veronique Cloutier, Marc Labreche, Joselito Michaud, among others. Lots of thoughtful discussion, giving credit where it's due, pokin fun where warranted.

My favourite segment was that discussing whether Celine is a feminist (towards the end of episode 4).

I wish someone would make something similar in English!

4x 30-45 minute episodes, all about Celine. Quality content, need more like it!

I know what you mean about the English interviews... We do need MORE ENGLISH interviews from Celine, in recent years we have just not gotten them (especially in the post-Rene years & since she has stopped talking to Oprah, Rosie, Ellen, etc Celine has done very few English interviews, & ALMOST NONE for the promotion of the "Courage" in 2019,) what a bummer...

I miss the Celine interviews from back in the day, we all could use some new Celine interviews!

& yes I know French is Celines "native tongue" & all I understand, but since the majority of her fans all over the world are English speakers, it would be great to have some more frequent English interviews from Celine like there were in the 1990s/2000s... Just saying as another long-time fan, I do miss Celine very much...

Very nice! Mine is quite basic, enough to get the gist but yes I hope a similar podcast like the one you shared is done in English!

When did Celine become "uncool"?

I think in her own words she once said: "I never was cool but I don't care." That's makes her quite cool in my opinion and many of my friends agree with me even when they aren't fans of her ;)

I hate Tranna Wintour with all my heart.. the things she says about Celine are always condescending and vile... And she or he makes a career out of it.

I agree. She wouldn't have a career if it weren't for Celine.

I don't mind people spoofing Celine - there's plenty to spoof, after all, and Celine's a good sport about it and I love that she doesn't take herself too seriously - but the way Tranna does it is so off-putting.

Like, “Girl, name ONE thing you’ve done in your life that is equal to Céline’s lowest achievement… we’ll be waiting!”

I've never heard of Tranna Wintour until this very moment, but at least they admit point blank they are a Celine hater.

The trash talking aside, there are some interesting points brought up in that interview: how open is Celine really? how queer is Celine? how much was Rene truly the force behind her decisions? when and why was Celine seen as uncool? and others.

I absolutely adore this performance of The Show Must Go On. It’s so touching to see Celine giving it her all… in honor of the career she built with Rene. It reminds me of those performances from the 90s - at Celine’s career peak - where she’d give an amazing performance then the camera would cut over & show how proud Rene is. It was always as if she was performing her very best for HIM. She even does her iconic move at the end of the song. So powerful!

Billboard’s staff usually caters to Mariah, so I’m very glad they’re not attempting to minimize Celine’s iconic performance here.

Maybe this is old… but it's the first time I've seen Australian comedienne/social media superstar Celeste Barber doing a spoof of Céline's bateaux-mouche scenes from the 2017 Vogue shoot.

Celeste is funny. She also did Celine when she posed nude but she was on the toilet holding empty toilet paper rolls.
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
