Ugh don't take my word as seriously. I'm talking about a trend. Of course she is not rejected, of course she will remain the national treasure, and of course it's just an opinion and this guy has the right to think so.

 

I'm talking about a natural tendancy to backlash a bit artists in their own country once they become popular outside. Once again Celine is way bigger than that since a long time but still It's a process observed everywhere and I don't know why last time I was thinking that we will see more criticism from Quebec from now on, just due to this natural tendency over than just personnal opinion.

Celine is the big thing here for 20 years, things will remain the same. Love , Hate. We don't have so many big celebrities. And if they do something outside our market, and they have succes , the tendancy is to be happy for them and proud . We are just a little nation .

He is exactly right. There has always been 2 Celines. One that is poised and answers thoughtfully and the other who he described as sliced orange cheese lol. Also said that since Rene's death, the cheesy one swallowed up the other.

 

 

I agree with this 1000%. The over the top wackiness was perfect for this show, but she has been like this in most interviews in the past few years. I’d like to see thoughtful Celine sometimes too, but she has mostly gone into hiding.

RC's was a C section too. The labour was quite traumatic apparently and the baby was in distress so they had to perform an emergency c section after she had been in labour for some hours.

 

Exactly, so there may have been a delay in Celine seeing and holding him. He wasn't on TV though was he. The first pictures of him came out about three weeks later. She may have meant the news about him being born. Her English can get muddled sometimes.

And they must have given authorization for the doctors to speak to the press, or there wouldn’t be multiple doctors and nurses quoted by name in People when it is very illegal to give medical info without the patient’s consent.

 

Probably what really happened is: “Rene and I gave permission for the doctors to talk to the press about the birth because we thought it was the best way to handle all the interest. So there was a press conference a few hours after he was born, but we chose not to release pictures for a few weeks.”

 

That sounds much less dramatic than, “They we’re announcing his birth on the TV broadcast in my room before I got to hold him!”

I have to agree, this was right for this show.

 

It's a balance between the fact that I get she has been through a terrible life changing event and that she is trying to be upbeat and positive, try new things etc. But at the same time I think there is a lot of insecurity there which probably leads to some of the over the topness. And I know that some people think this is the new Celine or the real Celine and isn't it all amazing, but I do miss the old, more settled, happy Celine. I hope she finds more of a balance in the future, to me there is still something very sad in her eyes.

Exactly, as I say I think something maybe got lost in translation in her head there. I don't think she meant exactly what she said. Or at least I hope she didn't cause it clearly wasn't true!

She probably held him for a couple minutes, then he was probably taken to be cleaned and checked which is typical and takes awhile in the hospital..by that time the doctor may have already held that press conference. Celine was probably not content waiting lol.

Actually, She had him with c-section. It's not always that you can hold your baby after a c-section.

 

I didn't get to hold my baby for more than few seconds after I gave birth and it wasn't a c-section.

 

My sister and a friend didn't get to hold their babies after a c-section until after a few hours.

 

C-section is a big surgery. Some women go through it without any major problems and some are too medicated after it or have complications. And also depends on how the baby is doing. If the baby is too weak, you can't hold it yet.

I just watched the show and it was nice I mean, every Céline interview nowadays goes like this, she singing answers. I really liked that between singing she was quite calm and grounded so thumbs up for that! She was really cute and I don't get why the outfit got so much s*** from fans - she can't wear evening gowns all the time you know.

 

The only odd thing is including the snippet of the new song. Why? And not even telling the title. And it doesn't seem as catchy as FOMO, wish they used that one instead coz it's much cooler and frech.
