chocolatechip15 Posted May 22, 2019 at 10:57 AM Posted May 22, 2019 at 10:57 AM She may have misremembered the timeline a little but I clearly remember doctors doing a press conference outside the hospital “Palms West” announcing RC’s birth. I may have seen it on local tv as that’s the area I live but it happened. But I think it was a couple hours after he was born. Thanks- I don’t remember that, but I know you lived in the area. I recall a People article that said Celine’s mom was the first person they told. Celine must have given consent for the press conference— no way doctors would do that without consent. It could easily end a doctor’s career to broadcast medical info without consent. Also no way it happened before the baby was in her arms, unless he was whisked away for treatment or something and she didn’t hold him for a long time. But she makes it sound like paparazzi were in the hospital room without her consent, and I’m sure that just didn’t happen. Quote

Knowing the man he was, it wouldn't surprise me. Regarding the part when Celine said she hadn't even held RC in her arms... did Celine give a birth to RC in a natural way? As far as I remember she did caesarean delivery with the twins, but I always thought she delivered RC herself since she was younger then. That could explain her recent comments. Do we actually know? RC’s was a C section too. The labour was quite traumatic apparently and the baby was in distress so they had to perform an emergency c section after she had been in labour for some hours. Quote
noyau Posted May 22, 2019 at 01:04 PM Posted May 22, 2019 at 01:04 PM The carpool karaoke is so awesome (including the bonus video) that I share it to all my family and friends ^^ I was in public transports when I saw it for the first time, I laughed a lot and also cried at 10:40 with the new AWESOME AND INCREDIBLE song. I'm so excited, first "Flyin' on my own" that I loved, than "Courage" sublime, and now this song (which name ? ^^), the album will be over the top !!!!! We are LUCKY FANS. And sometimes waiting is better.... (even though I hope, really hope, the new single for Friday...) 2 Quote ***I speak French, sorry for my mistakes in English. mirage Posted May 22, 2019 at 01:06 PM Posted May 22, 2019 at 01:06 PM You are definitely missing the point here. This formula could work very well for Céline, especially now. Every fart she does is like golden glitter and rainbows for the press. The audience go crazy for her and she is very well loved with the younger audience these days. So yes releasing a random song after such good promo could work very very well. Yes and I appreciate what youre saying, but that formula does not work for Celine... dont think she has had a #1 anywhere in over a decade, she cant just release a song and have it go #1... its just not gonna happen 2 Quote

At least here in France concerning artists getting popular outside their own country, and I guess it's a natural process that occurs everywhere. It seems so. Well, Céline is since a long time an international artist but she always was a bit mocked. So it was still Quebec national treasure and people where protective, now that other countries embrace her again almost like never before, and that she is getting so popular again in US.... She will receive a lot of criticism from Quebec, and will be a bit rejected.. Haha, be prepared, typical human behaviour. 2 Quote

She is a national treasure. And even if there is some critics, doesn't mean we don't love her. She was mocked everywhere. Not just in Québec , and now more people have learned to appreciate her. This guy in La Presse have a lot of courage to say his thing, because this is almost a rule in québec to not give bad opinons about Celine. There is no backlash. Some people don't like her , as it is their right. Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....
Ajax Posted May 22, 2019 at 03:13 PM Posted May 22, 2019 at 03:13 PM (edited) Ugh don't take my word as seriously. I'm talking about a trend. Of course she is not rejected, of course she will remain the national treasure, and of course it's just an opinion and this guy has the right to think so. I'm talking about a natural tendancy to backlash a bit artists in their own country once they become popular outside. Once again Celine is way bigger than that since a long time but still It's a process observed everywhere and I don't know why last time I was thinking that we will see more criticism from Quebec from now on, just due to this natural tendency over than just personnal opinion.
