I've watched the carpool karaoke so many times now.

I absolutely love her reaction to her giving her shoes away, love it so much!! Her screaming like she's giving away her babies haha.. no ok but almost

Yes that’s the part I can’t get enough of especially the beginning when she realizes he mean it. Edited by DionFanAlways
I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

I can’t get the snippet out of my head!!! I have a feeling it’s named Poison cause that would be perfect. It’s an eery song lyrically, and I love it! I won’t take it laying down...:wub2:

I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!

Who woulda thought that when Celine got more into fashion that it would also show her silliness off more than ever...seems like most of these people modeling and into fashion look pissed off all the time.

Hugo Dumas expressed exactly my opinion. Wanted to write it here after it aired, but figured i’d be thrown tomatoes if i did.

We as the fans have noticed it quite often, but regular people probably haven’t noticed yet but they sure will pick up and will soon be annoyed by this behavior... I wish she reads his editorial paper and stop acting like a clown non-stop every time theres an interview... We can be thankful it was written in Quebec and not anywhere else.

Because otherwise what ?

We had the same editorial before and way more harsh about how she was uptight, just a puppet with no personality, too insipid... and you know what those editorials were in french English Spanish... and now here she is. Of course we will see at one point other backlash. Don t be afraid everything will be fine.

We've already got a page or two of discussion about it starting here.

Can't say I agree with him in the least.

A show like Carpool or Kimmel, or the like - what she's doing is exactly what's called for.

She's leaning into her strengths, tapping into the zeitgeist, and as a result is now more relevant and beloved than ever. The press & the audience are eating it up.

She's absolutely killin' it. A whole new audience is waking up to her that previously thought of her as a complete snooze.

If you want a serious interview - go see Deborah Roberts or Katie Couric or the like. Not Carpool Karaoke!

Keep on Celining, Celine!

Yeah... If only it was just Carpool Karaoke... i wouldn’t say anything. But its a trend... she’s been acting like this every single time for the past couple years....

Anyway i’m hoping she got the message, and she will know to tone it down.... I feel like it puts the interviewer in such awkward position sometimes, they just stand there, do nothing, wait for her to stop being a clown and awkwardly laugh.... At this point anyone could interview her as it’s “Celine clown show” no matter who’s there with her.

Exactly. I respect each opinion and the fact that someone can prefer this or this Celine. But taking as an example Carpool is just so ridiculous. She did what she was supposed to do and in the best possible way. When she was at 50min inside for the French interview she adapted herself to the context and was perfectly fine and calm. When she was with Kimmel she was just in between.

She is still smart enough to adapt herself to every concept.

Remember when she was imitating a dog with Ellen on the floor or at star academy in france during the voting: most embarrassing moment on French television.

That s how she is.

I'm guessing you missed, say, last month's Nightline interview?

Celine has off-the-charts EQ. She can read the room like no other and adapts to the occasion.

Exactly, Know your audience.

Even in the 90s Celine did this well; she was a complete goofball on “ The Rosie O’Donnell show” and more serious on “ Oprah”.

Just thinking that it would have been better if, instead of her answering 'yeah' to his question when he comes back into the car, if she would have replied something like, 'oh, you know, just sitting here all by myself.' :-D

I totally agree with it. The general public doesn't see it, but we/I do. And it's a mental problem I guess. And you could see James being annoyed at the beginning, like Ellen was on her show, or many others.

Still, here on Carpool Karaoke, it went okay because crazier is better. But yeah, I wish she reads that paper, or someone tells her about it.

I'm not a mental health problem expert, but I don't think she have a mental health problem, but I understand if some people don't like it.

If you don't like how she acts or 'who she has become', it really is tough. She is her own person and has shown herself to be kind, sensitive, funny, crazy, irritating, too much...the whole spectrum.

We all have a projection of what we think it should be- but why should she conform to anything? She's been 'controlled' in a good way for so long. 'Vocal chords ruled her life' blablabla.

Why shouldn't she be able to say what she wants, like you or I? Because she should go back to Old Mama Dion from the 90s? Nooooo thank you.

That's the thing though. I honestly don't believe that that how she is now. My dad was 40 years older than my mom. He died ten years ago, and my mom has been in a depression since. She's kinda out it now but there are relapses from time to time. She still sees a psychiatrist. I don't think she even misses him that much, but it broke her.

And when I see Celine in her interviews, concerts, I see the same expression as my mom's. Her empty looks, big eyes. She's not there 100%. She's close to crying all the time, but still has to pretend everything is okay. Her mind is racing like she's on meds. Her constant singing seems like just a reflex behavior to escape, because she's constantly thinking about songs with the words that the other is saying. When you're not well and you're pretending, you make a ton to compensate.

A lot of things in this Carpool Karaoke made me feel like this. The first cringey part where she just couldn't stop singing. The IACBTMN grins where she just didn't seem happy at all. The old Celine would do it and give a little laugh in the end. The shoe episode was funny, but I truly sensed that she was really close to crying and then played it right. The MHWGO part was perfect though, because she felt relaxed, probably because there were no camera on her face scrutinizing her.

But then again, as I said, it was a great show. And I don't want her to become like she was before. She's changed and I'm fine with it, but it's kinda like she's trapped in her own image. I just want her to enjoy it for herself, and not think she has to put up a happy/clown face to show that she's cool or that everything is alright. And I hope that people in her entourage tell her that.

Ok even though I don't agree with you, I do understand where you are coming from.

In interviews for the last 2-3 years she has been acting way too cool for the interviewer and also done more spontaneous singing when she's supposed to answer questions. But she has always avoided answering questions by talking nonsense, something totally different that what the question was about. Now that's stopped and she's singing instead haha.

However, Carpool Karaoke is supposed to be nuts, them having fun, just the two of them in the car. It's not an interview and it's supposed to be a laid back atmosphere for the both of them. I think it went perfectly.

I completely completely disagree that she is ‘close to crying all the time’. I just don’t see it. I see her as someone who is strong, confident and taking the lead.

She exudes power. But she will always be heartbroken- we know this. But she can be heartbroken and still strong.

That’s a good way of putting how I feel about the James Cordon song snippet - heartbroken but strong. (Ashes was similar)
