I was there last night and the “mosh pit” was pure spur of the moment. It started with a couple people and then a rush of people came before they could stop it. Security was very upset that it happened and assured us it wasn’t happening again. Celine did enjoy it, which was really nice to see but it really can’t become a nightly thing because people would ruin it, like the walk through the audience/ Immortality. It’s become a huge mobbing of her every night, she’s an object for selfies.

The “mosh pit” would become a big competition and people with front row seats would complain, possibly want to be refunded, etc. One time spur of the moment was fun and great for her but that’s all it can and should be.

In my opinion it takes alot of class away from the show and interrupts it aswell when all these people in the audience take there selfies with Celine. I know people want to meet there idol and everything, but she is trying to sing and do her job and it gets to a point where people are almost bothering her and making her lose her concentration.

 

I know Celine likes and appreciates it because she loves her fans and doesn't want to be rude, but even Celine can't hide how she feels about the mob of fans that gather for the selfies when she occasionally rolls her eyes and looks overwelmed.

 

I am fine with selfies and people who take them in the show, but I just wish it was a little more respectful. It gets to be to much. She gets trapped in the audience and her security has to come and rescue her. It looks a little uncomfortable sometimes.

I wonder if that's more performances then Cher, Beyonce and Lady Gaga? It would be cool to know if Celine is truly the female artist with the most amount of performances. I appreciate the research and effort that you put into calculating her performances from 1983-2016. That is a big job.

I really think Celine has performed more concerts than anyone. I don't have the facts to prove that but I'm almost certain. 1000 shows in Vegas alone and that's without the TC world tour, and all the tours and performances before Las Vegas.

I'm not so sure about Celine performing more than anyone. The Rolling Stones have been performing since the 60's and have been doing World Tours every year since forever.

 

Also don't forget about Madonna who is always in competition with everybody else. She does world tours almost every year and she drags them out to a year and a half, just so she could beat Celine with the Taking Chances tour. After she learned that Taking Chances tour had earned the most money, she re-started the Sticky Sweet tour for another leg in the summer, after she had closed the tour the year before, just so she could be number 1. She is just so annoying.

It's not like she has to do the selfies, and I'm sure they could stop it if they really wanted to, but I wouldn't be surprised if Aldo encouraged it to bring her into the social media craze. At least that's what it feels like. I mean if you think about it, those fans are posting those selfies all over social media which means more exposure and publicity. I also think it´s Céline who did the most concerts than anyone, don´t know about The Rolling stones but at least Céline performed more concerts than any other female singer! Even Madonna is far from Céline. Madonna did like 10 tours during her career. In recent years she is on tour very often but from 1993 to 2001 she was not doing tours. Of course Céline is winner because of Vegas and specialy because of her show A new Day. 717 shows during 5 years it´s really something!

I didn’t say that it wasn’t relevant. I know that “selfies” are free publicity. Doesn’t mean it’s right to treat her like an object for one (which people DO).

It wasn’t technically meant to be a “selfie” walk originally, it was intended for her to get close to fans and interact with them via handshakes, high-fives, etc. But people are grabbing her, stepping on her dress, crowding around her, sticking a camera in her face as if she is just a picture to them.

Yeah she is a big girl and doesn’t HAVE to do them but maybe she wants to do the walk for the people that are being respectful or who have never had a moment with her. So she figures she’ll go through a couple minutes of rude people to get to the few good. All I know is her face during that walk is VERY telling. And adults should have manners but they don’t. It should be a really good thing but it’s just not.

I understand never seeing her before and wanting a picture with her but there is such a lack of respect in the way people handle themselves during these walks.

And the point of my original post was to warn people not to go running up to the stage because it was spur of the moment last night. If this did become a nightly thing people would ruin it, like the walk. Period.

If I am ever at one of her shows with the Selfie situation, I think Id feel sick, Sick because Id really want my opportunity to get a photo with her, but isn't that what everyone else wants too ? So it would be SO disappointing if you didn't get that opportunity. It feels awful to want to meet Celine and not have it happen. I think id have an anxiety attack during Immortality and Faint.... Plus you would have to be so quick- knowing me, my camera would take a really blurry crappy picture and id be devestated, Anyone else feel similar?? !! It would be traumatic........ Yes it is :w00t: I wrote a letter in 2013 and got a phone call to meet her before one of her Shows (meet and greet), it was totally random and i know i was very lucky. But still if she passed me by at a concert again doing selfies, i could easily drop dead...........
