Tyler1991 Posted December 19, 2016 at 03:24 AM Posted December 19, 2016 at 03:24 AM I don't want to add fuel to the fire guys but I just think that it's not only a problem of the heavy editing and/or autotune, it's also that Celine's voice sounds very tired and strained in her concerts today, more and more each time If she didn't do (hadn't done) so many concerts and rest her voice more, I think her voice wouldn't suffer that exhaustion we see with more frequence each day in her performances (in part, that's why I think it's not that great idea to see her touring next year again after Vegas and then more Vegas and then another tour, and then more Vegas... ) Quote
Naiomi zhannah Posted December 19, 2016 at 05:19 AM Posted December 19, 2016 at 05:19 AM Does Celine have a say in any of these things or does she just agree on whatever works or feels best Quote

LukeD Posted December 20, 2016 at 05:21 AM Posted December 20, 2016 at 05:21 AM (edited) I agree. Even few official uploads on VEVO would be very satisfying at this point. Kristinaz Posted December 22, 2016 at 08:31 AM Posted December 22, 2016 at 08:31 AM I still say someone needs to find Aldo or Scott or Patrick and ask about this show and make sure they don't blow it again for Vegas. They missed a fantastic opportunity herein couldn't bare to watch them do it again. As someone else said no DVD? Ok fine so then stream it or put it on iTunes (ie:Hilary Duff's Dignity tour) or Vevo something anything!! 3 Quote
Javito Posted December 22, 2016 at 09:13 AM Posted December 22, 2016 at 09:13 AM Worst thing is that they will miss this chance to release a DVD of this tour (with that unique improvisation with the public) but they will surely give us the same boring, edited and overproduced Vegas DVD, with all the fanfare they can, about a show that compared with the summer tour, it totally lacks any connection with the public I will too miss a DVD from this tour, where she was in communion 100% with the audience... LukeD Posted December 22, 2016 at 10:36 AM Posted December 22, 2016 at 10:36 AM I guess Celine going off the Vegas stage to take selfies with the fans or the immense support she received by that crowd after Rene passed away (like when she cracked while singing ABM and could not go on) shows enough connection between her and the fans attending the show. The fact that the tour was more fan-oriented does not mean her residency show lacks connection. It is there. For those who want to see it. 1 Quote
mirage Posted December 22, 2016 at 11:57 AM Posted December 22, 2016 at 11:57 AM There really is a BIG difference in the chemistry and connections between her Vegas audience or her tour audience. It is there, for those who want to see it. So I rather have a dvd from the tour, than a vegas one were most of the people are the highrollers who really don't give a damn if it's celine or mariah who is in front of them. The AND dvd shows a few enthusiastic fans, but if they didn't knew they were recording the dvd, they wouldn't been there. Yes, of course anyone having Celine Dion walking next to you in a concert and offering to take pictures for free would like a picture with her, why not? Same if she was Mariah Carey, Cher or Shania Twain or the Pope who were coming down the aisle next to you. Like mirage says, 99% of the people attending in Vegas don't give a damn if they're watching Celine there or any other big name. They just want to have a moment of fun and relax. But 99% of people attending one of her concerts while on tour are real fans. I would like to know how many members of the Vegas audience would develop such connection with Celine in Vegas theater as what we see in the tour videos 1 Quote "Hush, now... Kristinaz Posted December 22, 2016 at 12:53 PM Posted December 22, 2016 at 12:53 PM Listen I am being honest with you here from what I saw the night I went to the show I can assure you there were plenty of fans at the show in Vegas. For my night it surely was not just high rollers. Maybe they didn't go as wild as they would at a normal show but they very much did enjoy show many of them standing up and clapping during multiple songs. I feel the difference between the two is obviously the venue which in a sense sets the tone on how people react. I also feel that maybe with Vegas it's a lot more of her older fans and not as much of her younger ones. This is just my observation from the two times I have been. 2 Quote
Celine Fan 77 Posted December 22, 2016 at 12:54 PM Posted December 22, 2016 at 12:54 PM (edited) Both LukeD and mirage & Javito are right: The audience attending her current Vegas show generally leaves stunned and enjoys every second of it. There are exceptions, of course (Remember when Celine stopped the show during Beauty and the Beast because a man had fallen asleep??), but I think there are more people (that have attended it) who express good opinions and excitement about the show than fans that have gone to it but don't really care. I personally would never spend a quantity of money that I don't have to travel so far and see my idol performing a show for an audience (mainly) full of casual fans when I can wait till she decides to come to Europe, but that's just me, my point, my personal opinion. So yes, it's also true that the concerts during her two latest tours have been clearly different in terms of her and the fans being excited. So yes, it's also true that the concerts during her two latest tours have been clearly different in terms of her and the fans being excited. You actually brought in mind one of the main statements used to praise Celine and the show last decade: that fans all over the world attended. They would travel a long distance to see Celine. It might be exaggerated assuming it was used for publicity reasons, but I do believe there is some truth in it. Kristinaz made the best point that the excitement of the public is affected by the venue. The Vegas show is like a VIP show. I would go there, put on my best suit to look neat and comfortably sit on a chair to watch the performance. I am a very discreet person and dislike being the centre of attention, so I would NEVER stand up to cheer up unless everyone was doing so. My attitude would be completely different had the concert taken place in a stadium where I would be supposed to stand up. One cannot stay still for like 2 hours doing nothing. You have to move, cheer up and sing along! To compare both shows in terms of excitement is like comparing apples to oranges, really. Edited December 22, 2016 at 01:17 PM by LukeD 2 Quote
